New Lacy Sunshine Challenge-Include a Window
The new challenge at Lacy Sunshine starts today and the theme is Include a Window.
I've used the adorable Georgia's A Lil Magic Secret Window and borrowed a witch's hat from Eleanor Trick or Treat Flight. Never too early for Halloween, eh? It was the "Magic" that made me do it. LOL The DP's are all from last year's Graphic 45 Steampunk Halloween. I just love the rich, saturated colors, don't you?
And here's the beautiful Georgia, colored with Copics in the same vibrant hues. Click HERE to see how she comes without the hat. That addition was made by fussy cutting Eleanor's hat HERE, and making some small slits in Georgia's hair to fit the hat in. I've added Glossy Accents to Georgia's eyes, lips and the tinted window panes and glued on mica flakes enhanced with Waterfall Stickles for the "magic" floating from her bowl.
Here's the dimensional shot. I've fussy cut the background away inside the window and popped it all up from the black matting. The sentiment is done with punch out typewriter keys (also Graphic 45) covered with adhesive acrylic domes and the rest is computer generated. Be sure to check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Sunshine Girls HERE. We are all showcasing the Secret Window Collection. Hope that you can join us.
I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday ATG Challenge, TTRCD ATG, Cute Card Thursday ATG, Aud Sentiments Anything Other Than Birthday, Little Red Wagon Girl Power, Inky Impressions ATG, Tuesday Throwdown ATG, Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge ATG, and Fan-tastic Tuesday ATG.

"L" is for Layer at SOSS
Ok, so I read the "L" is for Layer at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and think "WOOHOO! Do I know how to layer!" but uh...no, not layerS, LAYER, meaning ONE (or if you must, because you are worried about f'ing up your card base, 2 at the MOST). In other words CAS, not my strong suit.
However, if Edna (my Mom's name, which totally cracks me up, however she does look more like my Auntie Lee) can go flat, so can I. So above you see my one layer card, done in Printmaster Platinum, using eyeglasses from The Graphics Fairy, that went perfectly with the sentiment I saw somewhere on the net and wrote down because I'm sure in a few years that will be me, and also because they look a bit like Edna's. WOW! How's that for a run on sentence? I'm in rare form today, eh? Well, Edna snuck on the corner of my card (my Mom was pushy like that too) but was really pissed when I left her colorless (but Copics would have bled through my CS 'cause I use the cheap stuff).
Visit Sister Lee (aka Violent Kitty) to grab your own Flat Edna. Mine insisted on some color and posing with the card. (See, I told you, PUSHY!) In case you're trying to read it on one of those itty bitty smart phones it says:"God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference." AMEN!
Since coloring took up the better part of my morning, I skipped my walk, so Edna, always the taskmaster, put me through my paces in the exercise room. First the elliptical trainer.
Then chest, back and shoulders on the weight stack.
And finally, dumbells for biceps and triceps.
Phew! Time for some liquid refreshment. Red or white?
Red it is! Tah!
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday ATG Challenge and the Simon Says Monday In the Family challenge.

Macabre Monday Deja-Vu Doo Week Deux
Ok, Halloween fans, it's week two of our Deja-Vu Doo Challenge at HDH and we only have a few brave souls who have taken the challenge so I'll spell it out for you again.
The idea for this theme is to reuse a previous image, technique, paper, etc...that you have used recently, but in a new way. It will be necessary to explain your reused object or idea, in your blog post.
I've used a MS paper mache skull half and covered it with metal tape that I embossed with the TH Riveted Metal folder, then antiqued it with some Spanish Copper Rub'n Buff. It's mounted on black card stock embossed with the Cuttlebug Gears folder, also enhance with Rub'nBuff, this time Silver Leaf. The little metal plaque plaque (TH) says "possibility begins with the imagination" and is bordered by cogs to further enhance the Steampunk feel (BTW, I used this same one when transforming my Grandpa's bowler). I've stuck the whole concoction on a soon to be Art Journal before realizing how terribly inconvenient a big honkin' skull will be on the cover when I go to actually use it. Oh well, you all know how often I do AJ pages, eh?
Previous project made with MS paper mache skull halves using a technique from Andy Skinner's Book of Ruination class. Not so hard...SEE? More deets on this one HERE (in case you missed it.) Be sure to stop by HDH to see the rest of the Minions inspired makes (scroll down to see Week 1) and and put on your thinking caps and some play with us!
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday ATG Challenge, and the Punk You Girl August ATG.

New Challenge at Lacy Sunshine!
I'm thrilled to announce that I have moved from the Lacy Sunshine Creative Team to the Sunshine Girl Challenge Team and today is my first posting there. Our new Challenge is Summer and my DT sisters and I are showcasing images from the adorable Sticky Wings Collection. I have used Honey Sticky Wings (scroll down to find yours) and her Beehive Snowglobe, available in the Digi Bits Section of the Shop.
Isn't Honey the cutest ever?! I've colored her with Copics, fussy cut and popped her in front of the hive. There are Stickles on her wings and Liquid Pearls added to the honeycomb on her head.
It just so happens that Honey is the Loyalty Program digi which means if you've enered the last challenge with a Lacy Sunshine image, you get her for FREE! If not, she is available for the discounted price of $2.00 during Challenge 39. WooHoo!
It's an easel card and I printed the snowglobe several times and to add depth and layers. I cut a hole in the globe to accomodate the recycled packaging I used and embossed the background with my Honeycomb Cuttlebug folder. Liquid Pearls were added inside for honey and bee brads are buzzing all around.
I used Spellbinders to cut the computer generated sentiment and embossed that with the honeycomb folder as well. I reversed one of the digi flowers in my Printmaster Program and fussy cut and popped it on the base too.
Although easel cards are supposed to fold flat, you can see that with all the layers, this one is going to need a box. LOL I sure had fun making it, though. Be sure to visit the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog and grab some inspiration from my extremely talented teammates. Now start thinking Summer and please join in. I can't wait to see what you create.
I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday ATG Challenge, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card ATG, the Allsorts Favorite Things Challenge (Lacy Sunshine stamps, shaped cards, fussy cutting, dimension), the Crafty Calendar August ATG, Digi Galore ATG, My Sheri Crafts Shaped Cards, Wags 'n Whiskers Polka Dots, The Stamping Boutique Fancy Folds and Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Polka Dots.

Life's a Beach!
There's a new Challenge at The East Wind Challenge Blog and as usual, since it's the first of the month, the DT has showcased the adorable Freebie available by signing up for the TEW newsletter (Look for the the big hot pink sign on the left of the sidebar). Hurry to sign up, if you haven't already, because I'd hate to have you miss Aurora Bubblegun and Mint Chocolate (two of her fave flavors). Have you guessed the challenge? We are looking for a Beach Theme. I've really been having fun with the no background PNG format of the newest TEW stamps and put Aurora right on the beach boardwalk in my Printmaster Program. Wouldn't this be fun for a layout? That's why I added the deckle edge with my decorative scissors. I was going for a vacation photo vibe.
Here's a closer look at Aurora with her fave ice cream flavors. I've added some Stickles to the scoops on her cone (on the die cut ones from Cottage Cutz, too) and Glossy accents to the chocolate coating....Yumbo! The cute flag banner is from La La Land and the sentiment is computer generated. The Beach themed DP is an oldie from The DCWV Summer Stack.
Sure could use a double dip. It's been so HOT there with no end in sight. My DT sisters have all done an amazing job with Aurora Bubblegum and Mint Chocolate so be sure to check out the Challenge Blog and come play along. Remember, the theme is BEACH. You needn't use this adorable freebie, (although I can't imagine why not, she's so cute!) nor even a TEW stamp, but if you do, don't forget to enter your project twice, once linked to the post, the second to your Blog so you can double your chance of winning. The challenge runs through Aug 10th, but you can get the Freebie all month long and a new one each month thereafter if you sign up. And don't forget our current FB contest, Just for a Laugh, which runs through Aug 17th. Is is really August???
I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday ATG Challenge, the Fairytale Sun Beach, Sea Challenge, the Love to Create Summer Lovin' Challenge, the A Creative Romance Fun in the Sun Challenge, Creative Corner Summer Challenge, Stampin' with the Dragon Sun Sea Sand and the Paper Shelter Summer ATG Challenge.

Twinkle Twinkle, You're Our Star!
Almost forgot to share the card I made for one of my BFF's daughter's graduation. The adorable Saturated Canary Grad Girl 2012 looks just like Hayley (and is a super bargain at just $2.00)
She's colored with Copics in the colors of the Dublin CA High Gaels. the stars are Sticko stickers but I've done a little tut on how to make dimensional ones of your own HERE. the scroll is from the Cuttlebug Fanciful Labels Emboss Plus folder. Numbers by a retired Cuttlebug alpha set, and star embossing also Cuttlebug.
The simple step card was done with my Spellbinders Labels Twenty eight. We're so proud of our girl, heading of to the University of Colorado, Boulder this fall.
I'm entering this in the Simon Say Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge, Crafty Sentiments Designs Summer or Summer Colors (graduation is the beginning of summer for Seniors and red, white and blue means Memorial Day and July 4th in the US), Twisted Tuesday Red, White and Blue and Stars, Freshly Brewed Designs Red, White and Blue, Open Minded Crafting Patriotic Colors, and Craftin Desert Divas Red, White and Blue Linky Party.

The DT has all used the adorable Freebie, Aurora Gardening that comes when you sign up for the Newsletter so be sure and check right hand side of the Challenge Blog and sign up to get yours. This fortnight the challenge is EMBOSSING (wet or dry)!
Here's a cloose up of this cutie. She's colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped. The gardening embossing folder is from the Cuttlebug Cricit Companions to Freshly Picked. The fun veggie Dp is Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and I've added multicolored twine from The Twinery.
Here you can see I've popped the two matted embossed layers as well.
I planned this as a thank you card but really couldn't fit my hokey pun on the front so here's the matching inside. My DT sisters have done her up proud so please go visit The East Wind to see their gorgeous creations.

Lucy Loo 'Lucy Longstocking', New from The East Wind
Every Monday and Friday Kyra releases a new digi at The East Wind Shop. Today I'm previewing the newest of one of my FAVE characters, Lucy Loo. Meet 'Lucy Longstocking'. This girl's got some 'tude! I nabbed the fab sentiment from Ginger's House because it fit her just perfectly, sat her right on top and cut her out. I thought she would make a fab door hanger.
I colored her with Copics in girly pink to enter in the Left of Center Girly Challenge. The girly skull DP is DCWV.
I've even added girly LOC embellies. How about that? A number of my DT sisters have also made projects with Lucy and we've all colored her hair differently. Isn't that fun? Come visit the TEW FB group to see them all.
Oh, and BTW, there's a fab sale going on at the Shop. Huge discounts in the Now or Never section, available through the end of June. Get them before they're gone for good! (there's even a few Lucy Loo's!)

Bloom Where You Are Planted
Here's a card I made just for fun using the adorable new Cactus Sprite by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff of Aurora Wings. Cacti are a pricky bunch, but in the Springtime they bloom with reckless abandon. I set my little guy in the desert using a paper tearing technique to make my background which is supposed to suggest the desert sunset. It's hard to imagine ANYTHING blooming in the desert, but the gorgeous arrays of cactus flowers dot the dry barren landscape with glorious color so my computer generated sentiment on Kraft seemed apropos.
Here's a closeup of this cutie. He's colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped. His prickly chubby shape makes me giggle. Mitzi said her inspiration for this guy was a little cactus that her daughter received a a birthday present from one of her friends. Too cute!
I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Spring Flowers Challenge, Tuesday Throwdown Spring Blossoms, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card Flowers challenge, Robyn's Fetish Cards with Flowers in the Image, Digi Galore Kraft challenge, and W2SB Bloom Where you Are Planted.

Dandelion Freebie from Aurora Wings
Don't miss all the fun at the Aurora Wings Facebook 1000 Member Celebration. This new Dandelion Sprite is yours FREE as a thank you from the fabulous Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, artist of the amazing fantasy images. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to combine it with this Cuttlebug embossing folder. I printed the image first and embossed wth the folder, then printed, colored and fussy cut again to pop over the image since some of the embossing overlapped the image.
Here's a closeup. Could she be any cuter? She's colored with Copic and I've added Stickles to the puffs and seeds and sprinkled them with white flock so they are sparkly AND fuzzy.
Sentiment is computer generated and popped as well. Hope you can join in the fun during this fabulous FB event going on NOW HERE. New releases (be sure to come back here today too for a gorgeous one) as well as contests and prizes. Hurry, the first one has already started, but the event goes throughout the day and ther will be a 24 hour one so the whole world can join in. See you there.

Warm and Fuzzy Easter Wishes
There's something about Spring with Easter and all the cute baby animals that get me all warm and fuzzy. Seems I just can't stop flocking these days. LOL Here's a sweet one that Jezzie insisted I make. The adorable image is Chick and Kitten-Mama it's So Fluffy. With a name like that, how could I not flock? Got a chance to try out my new Spellbingers Grand Decorative Labels One to make this lacy shaped card. I cut a cut a Spellbinger's nested Egg twice and cut it to look like the chick had just hatched. and added some time punched flowers and a little bow.
Here's a closeup of the image. TOOO cute! The kitty was flocked with white, the chick, printed again on yellow, fussy cut and flocked with yellow. As you can see, the shading I've done on the images with my Copics still shows through.
Today is a special day for the Aurora Wings FB group. We're celebrating 800+ members so hope you can stop by and play along with the contests to win fabulous images that will be going on all day HERE. And there's still time to join in our very first Blog challenge HERE. Hope to see you there.

I've chosen images of my favorite flower, the hydrangea for my very first project, a wall hanging, cut on my Grand Caliber using Grand Labels Four and some fancy corners from Heartfelt Creations.
The main image is the beautiful Hydrangea Fairy. Isn't she just gorgeous? She's colored with Copics with some of the petals fussy cut and popped for dimension. The lace caps were detailed with Liquid Pearls as well as flat backed adhesive ones.
But I couldn't resist adding the adorable Whimsical Hydrangea Sprite. Don't they look cute together? He's also colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped with sparkly Stickled wings.

Macabre Monday Frightening Fairies Week 2
It's Week 2 of our Frightening Fairies Challenge at Haunted Design House and it seems to be stumping a lot of people, including me. However, I managed to rally and came up with this little woodland scene. The fab Creepy Mushrooms is from ADFD, the fairy is actually Banshee by RSD with some vellum wings from Rocking Horsefly from Sami Stamps (which I can't seem to find at the mo).
The images were printed on Kraft card stock from the Paper Temptress and colored with Copics. Banshee was fussy cut and popped. The whole shebang was cut with my Spellbinders Grand Labels 1, inked and matted. "Believe" is an ancient rub-on from Heidi Grace. Pehaps it shoud have said "Beware", eh? There's lots more inspiration on the HDH Blog, so come take a look and join us.
I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Get Krafty Challenge and Left of Center using the LOC theme.
