Dilly Beans Green and Black

Love, love, love, love, LOVE Megan's new images over at Dilly Beans! And since I'm always a last minute kind of gal, I was able to choose some of my new FAVES to do this week's color challenge at the Designer's and Challenge Blog: Green and Black. Normally this color scheme would throw me for a loop, but the fab Madly in Love Stack from DCWV was just the ticket. I've used #376 Martin (flipped) and #378 Cordillia. Aren't they just MFEO? I decided to stay really monochromatic and color them with Copics in shades of green only. The layout is loosely based on Deconstructed Sketch #41 and I'm hoping it's close enough to enter there.
The sentiment is from the new #375 Cute and Dark quote set. I've popped every other word for emphasis as well as Martin and Cordillia. Too funny that I just had a conversation about this with my Sweetie and I've come to the conclusion that if a guy ain't lookin' at other women, he's dead. LOL (So I guess you have to take this sentiment with a grain of salt) There's loads of inspiration at the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog so be sure to hop over there and take a look. Hermoine Meets The White Rabbit

Oh what fun challenges are going on at The Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and The Burtonesque Dolls! First of all, our TI challenge is Reel Me In. Design a project inspired by a Summer or Scary movie. Then, at The Burtonesque Dolls, the challenge is to use a "Potterish" character and put them in a Burton movie. I had plenty of ideas for both, but when Christy released the new Wizardette, how perfectly these two challenges came together. I used the PNG of Wizardette and printed her directly over a movie poster from Alice in Wonderland. I flipped her and stretched her a bit to cover the movie advertisement in the upper right corner and still have her standing on the tea table. I don't do alot of digital work (other than printing my images) so this was very exciting to me. (Yeah, I'm easily impressed. LOL) I left her partially off the poster and cut around her. The whole thing is mounted on an 8x8" page from Graphic 45's Halloween in Wonderland.

I honestly hadn't a clue how to color her, so I followed my DT sister Jen's lead (although not nearly as well as she did). Jen had actually requested the image and Christy was happy to oblige. Thank you both for that! I love her! I used a Sassy Studio Designs sentiment. Hermoine seems a little perplexed as to exactly who this rabbit is. Yikes, a spell gone wrong?

Not a whole lot of dimension here, but that's okay because I think I'm gonna frame it. Go take a look at the fab creations by the Tiddly Inkers as well as those by The Burtonesque Dolls. Inspiration abounds! I had a ball with these challenges, and so will you! I'm also entering it in The Altered Alice Tea Things Challenge. I can't tell you how fabulous the projects are over there. And not just the amazing designers! I'm humbled and a teeny bit intimidated each time I go look, but of course, loving all things Alice, I can't stay away.

Just One More

Are you ready? I'm not, but you know some things just aren't gonna get done this year. Some things are just more important. (Who is this girl and what have you done with Donna? LOL) No really, I will breathe deep and let it go. One more card for my love. Couldn't pass up The Christmas Present, another of the images I won from Sassy Studio Designs. Don't think he'll be able to pass her up either. Colored with Copics with some Spica shimmer, DP is SEI Wintersong (some of my fave!) Chipboard tag is K&Co.

It took me awhile to figure out what was hair, what was ribbon, and what was skin on this image, especially since I started it at 3:30 am. LOL I cut her out using my Nesties Beaded Ovals and used Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass for highlights. I thought of quite a few sentiments, but I think the one I finally chose is the right one.

The mat is popped to give it some dimension and take a look at that gorgeous ribbon. I usually don't write on my cards as part of the design, but besides the fact I couldn't figure out how to use the computer to print on a dimensional tag, I think it's more personal in this case...VERY personal. : )

As you can see, the window goes through all of the layers. I'm surprised I managed to get it lined up. Truly a labor of love, especially this late in the game. Merry Christmas, Darling xx All I want for Christmas is you!

Bet You Can't Guess Who This is For (HeeHee!)

Can you believe it? With all I've still got to do I made a card! Well, I just couldn't help it. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Besides, I'd certainly hate to disappoint a certain someone. I was so excited to have won the Sassy Christmas Challenge at One Stop Craft Challenges sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs. I won 4 (count 'em) FOUR fab images and they were just begging to be colored so here's Reindeer Games. She was perfect for the sentiment I'd had jingling in my head the past few days. She's colored with Copics (yeah, big surprise, another redhead, sure wish MY hair looked like that!) with some sparkle from Spica Pens that doesn't show in the pic. The layout is really simple using DP by Stampin' Up, a Chipboard sentiment from K&Co., a few adhesive beads, and some jingle bells. I doubt he'll mind. Likes to think of himself as "a simple man". Guess we balance each other out. :)

And inside? Now don't act all shocked. We all know what floats a guy's boat, or at least stiffens his sail. (Eiyiyi! she really IS naughty!) Oh oh, am I losing followers here? Hope not. Anyway, I'm pretty sure he's gonna like this one. And how about this? The challenge this week at Dare to be Sassy Thursdays just so happens to be a CAS (clean and simple) holiday card so of course I'm entering it there. WooHoo!

It's Showtime at The Cuttlebug Spot and at Simon Says Stamp Challenge

This week at The Cuttlebug Spot we're celebrating our favorite movie or TV show. You KNEW what was coming here, didn't you? LOL Well BESIDES the fact that I just LOVED "Alice in Wonderland", it finally gave me the opportunity to use my Queen of Hearts Cuttlebug folder. WooHoo! I just substituted the head from my Sassy Studio Designs Queen of Hearts Card, colored her with Copics, cut her out and popped her on. The extra gold crown is a brad. I embossed just the hearts from the folder in red and cut them out to add to the card. The shadow behind her head is a Spellbinders Heart die and the sentiments are also from Sassy Studio. The larger sentiment was cut and layered using Spellbinders Labels Nine. The red mat is embossed with the Cuttlebug Heart Blocks folder and the border punch and photo corners are EK Success.

Tell me she's not hilarious! Looks just like Helena Bonham Carter in the movie! I really enjoyed this challenge and looking at all of the fabulously creative projects from my DT sisters, it's obvious they did too.
