Elf Antics Day 24

Well, it's Christmas Eve and there's still much to be done.  The elves have enjoyed participating in the 8th Annual Elf Antics Party at DL.Art and reading about the adventures of their friends and so have I.  We look forward to it every year.  Today is all about psyching Santa up for for his journey tonight and making sure he's equipped with all he needs.

Much love from Elzabet, Olivia, Feenix, Erf, Mystery and the rest of the little magical creatures who inhabit my world.  Until next year, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.  May the New Year bring healthier, happier times.

Elf Antics Day 23

Oh dear!  Looks like this little new recruit Jemima is not one bit happy.  I wonder what could be wrong, besides the fact that it's almost Christmas and she's only showing herself TODAY!  Elzabet tries to explain that here are RULES, but she's not buying it.  Mystery is totally horrified by her attitude and doubts if she'll make the grade.

Now I see!  It's official.  Santa has made his list, the documents have been distributed, and yes, elves are on it too.  Jemima's has been stamped "Sassy"! (Why am I not surprised?)  Well, I suppose it's better than "Naughty", but we'll probably have to wait until next year to see if she makes the team.  I dunno...

Only one more day to participate in the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art and there so much left to do!  EEEK!

Elf Antics Day 22

Erf realized, after presenting his reindeer to Santa, that he had left his tent at the lake.  When he arrived, he noticed it had frozen over and there were the Shoohoos, Peregrine and Flurry, as well as Cricket Wrascal, frolicking in the snow and ice.  Erf longed to join them, but he knew there was so much more to do.  It's nearly Christmas!  He thanked them all again, packed up his tent and made his way back to help the others.

Only 2 more days for the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art but you can still catch up on all of the festivities.

Elf Antics Day 21

Erf was very excited to show Santa the new reindeer and asked if Flurry would like to come along.  "Oh, no.  That's okay," Flurry replied.  "That's your gig, although I may catch up with him later."  Erf appreciated the gesture and was thrilled at Santa's positive reaction and praise.  Maybe I'll get a promotion next year, he thought to himself.

(Shoohoos, BTW, are pretty selfless creatures and are happy to help those in need without taking any credit)

Elf Antics Day 20

It was getting close to the BIG DAY and Erf woke up in a rather nervous state, but as he looked across the lake, he saw Flurry with an amazing reindeer and fawn, just as promised.  He gasped at their beauty and thanked Flurry profusely for leading them there.

"No problem," replied Flurry.  "Shall we bring them back for Santa's approval?" he asked.  "Absolutely!" said Erf as he mounted the fawn and off they went.  Mission accomplished thanks to the Shoohoos!

Elf Antics Day 19

Erf was feeling a bit forlorn when all of a sudden he heard the crunching of hooves in the snow and another Shoohoo jumped down from his unicorn.  "Hi, I'm Flurry.  I passed Peregrine in the woods and he told me all about your quest.  You couldn't interest Santa in a unicorn, could you?  Wynterly here sure would be honored to join Santa's team."  Erf hesitated a bit.  Hmmm... I wonder, he thought, but could only manage a "Well?" before Flurry interrupted.

"No matter, Wynterly is kind of thirsty so we'll take a little break, if you don't mind.  That's quite a nice campfire you have there, by the way.  Maybe we should roast some marshmallows."  "But...I," Erf tried to reply but Flurry pulled some out, sticks and all and said, "Oh, I always carry them.  Wynterly loves them, generally not toasted, but maybe you and I can share these by the fire."

So the two toasted the marshmallows while Wynterly lay down beside them.  Although Erf barely got a word in edgewise, he did learn that the reindeer would not probably come unless led by a familiar face (meaning Flurry, himself) so he should expect them when he sees them.

Hopefully the sooner the better, Erf thought, as he bade them farewell, crawled under the covers and turned in for the night.

Lots going on at the 8th Annual Elf Antics at DL.Art.  Come check out what hostess Hope, her mini me Hope-Alina and the rest of the elves are up to.

Elf Antics Day 18

Erf waited and waited, but no reindeer appeared.  He ran back to grab camping gear and to check on the little deer at the shed and trekked back to the lake, pitched a tent and sat by the fire to wait some more. Too bad he forgot his marshmallows, but he certainly doesn't want to disappoint Santa.

Erf and the other elves are joining in the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.

New release for AuroraWings

Okay, don't faint.  I know it's been forever since I've actually done a coloring post, especially since the AuroraWings challenges have moved to FB and the AW Showcase Team has been on hiatus for several months, but there is an unannounced new release from AuroraWings and I thought you might like to be aware.  Currently I see the majority of them only on Etsy HERE.  There are 4 new Christmas Sprites, as well as a new Flower Sprite, so check them out.  They are cuteness overload.  This little sweetie is Icicle Sprite and I couldn't resist coloring her first, mainly because I was a skater as a child and it brings back many fond memories.  Here are the others new ones available.

Christmas Tree Sprite2

Little Drummer Sprite

Penguin Sprite

Again, all can be found in the New Release section of the AW Etsy store HERE and I'm expecting another one coming soon that will be as much of a surprise to me, as you.

Wishing all of my crafty friends a very happy holiday season and hopefully a much better New Year.  xxxxx

Elf Antics Day 17

So where is Erf?  Well, he'd gotten a special request from Santa to go and search for some new members for the reindeer team.  On the way to the lake he encountered a Shoohoo (cousins to elves, fairies, Crickets and the like) named Peregrine, who suggested he wait by the not yet frozen over water and wait for the reindeer to come and drink.   "But what about the little deer, already in my care left behind near the shed?" Erf asked. (He was totally unaware that Feenix and Rowan had already gone looking for him.)

"Oh, no worries," said Peregrine, "I'll send my twin Cricket cousins Wrascal and Wrebel to take care of them until you get back."  And so he did.

They're ALL joining in the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.

Elf Antics Day 16

Time for a cocoa and gingerbread break with their brand new mugs while Elzabet and Olivia discuss Erf's absence.  Word is traveling throughout Santa's village and I'm afraid this is getting very worrisome for all.

Elf Antics Day 15

It had stopped snowing but Rowan (yes, he finally revealed his name) really didn't want to leave until he had a chance to see Erf.  Feenix suggested they stop by the reindeer shed to see if he had been detained there.  Although they did find some bags of feed, there was no Erf and the deer seemed quite hungry. "Deer" me!  Wherever could he be?

The elves are still having a ball over at the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.  Why not check it out?

Elf Antics Day 14

Still no sign of Erf, nor a name for the new little guy, but Feenix certainly enjoyed the visit with her cousin as the snow gently started to fall.

Elf Antics Day 13

I've recently started a new crafty hobby of needle felting.  Gotta say, repeatedly stabbing a mound of wool with extremely sharp objects is amazingly therapeutic, especially during these times.  I just finished some mushrooms and attached them to a small wooden base and added some snow.  This morning, who should appear but the little cutie.  He's actually a cousin to Erf and Feenix (all made by Kerrie Anne Sawyer) and thought he'd pop in for a visit.

He hasn't told me his name, but I guess he wanted to check out what the other elves are up to during the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.

Elf Antics Day 12

Today Mystery asked for help testing the ride on and pull toys.  Looks like Elzabet has the softest ride.  Hmmm... Erf seems to be conspicuously absent.  I wonder what he's up to?

Elf Antics Day 11

"I think this one is defective.  It BITES!"  Ah yes!  Mini Mystery is back too.  Her current position is in quality control.  She may be soon asking for a transfer, though.  Aren't her new boots cute?

Elf Antics Day 10

Well, as you can see, Feenix is back too, working hard in the Candy Department.  She stopped by to see if Elzabet would like a sample of the latest candy canes.  "Yes, please, and may I have another for later?" she asked.  "Absolutely!  I'll leave these here.  Help yourself."  Obviously, a little late afternoon energy is in order.  Only two weeks until Christmas Eve!

Elf Antics Day 9

Ah, well maybe they're not ALL so cute, Kitty.  This one just popped out of the tree today and even scared Grinchy mouse.  A bunch of these guys hung on my childhood Christmas tree each year.  Is he the stuff from which nightmares are made, or what?  Thought they all were long gone.  Maybe he was sent to make sure Grinchy mouse doesn't steal Christmas.  YIKES!

Not sure he's welcome, but he's joining the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Challenge at DL.Art anyway.  LOL

Elf Antics Day 8

So what happened to Day 7?  Well...  Elzabet was in a panic about the large lizard that was delivered to the toy room and called for assistance.  Olivia ran to get Erf (you remember Erf, don't you?) who was know to have a way with animals.  He was not immediately available, hence the missing day here, but apparently he's not only a reindeer whisperer, but quite the lizard wrangler, as well.  Elzabet looks immensely relieved and Olivia looks pretty proud of Erf as he loaded the wagon.  Phew!

I'm back on track, playing in the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.

Elf Antics Day 6

Today when Elzabet returned to the toy room she was surprised to find a wagon load of kittens, a big shaggy dog and EEEK! a HUGE lizard!  Yes, she knew Santa did deliver pets on Christmas Eve to some very special children on his list but it is far beyond her pay scale to deal with the care and feeding of pets until the big day, on top of sorting the toys.  Besides, she is also rather terrified of lizards!  Who could possibly have asked for THAT?  Something MUST be DONE!

Elf Antics Day 5

Elroy was dispatched immediately to the bedroom shelf of little Coco and Chanel whose bedtime snack attack was sure to land them on Santa's naughty list, without elf intervention.  They were so immersed in sugary goodness, they didn't notice him on the shelf until he leaned over and pointed.  Coco seemed amused and pointed back, but Chanel knew they were caught in the act and immediately dropped her chocolate.  I think Elroy has his work cut out for him with these guys, don't you?

I'm joining in with the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.  Wanna know what elves are really up to during the holiday season?  Come check it out.

Elf Antic Day 4

Elzabet has just received an emergency call from Santa.  Two very tiny little girls were reported to be eating all kinds of treats in BED!  An Elf on the Shelf is requested for immediate dispatch to keep an eye on the offenders or they will for sure end up on the NAUGHTY LIST!  Fortunately, Santa's smallest Elf on the Shelf was ready.  Elzabet explained the mission and Elroy and was excited to volunteer.

Come join the fun at the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.

Elf Antics Day 3

Do you remember Olivia?  She seems to be back on duty and has just delivered another wagon of toys.  Hmmm...Elzabet and I think more shelves may be in order, don't you?

2020 Elf Antics Day 2

To be honest, I have no idea if this is going to publish because although I seem to be able to be writing here, I can't sign into my actual Blogger account and leave comments on anyone else's blog.  Been working at it all day.  Seriously?

Anyway, I'm trying to join in again with the 8th Annual Elf Antics Linky party at DL.Art.  Elves abound and it's loads of fun so stop by and say "Hi" or join in with elves of your own.

Yes, Elzabet is back with a new outfit but looks rather annoyed that I've again missed Day 1.  She's been stocking the shelves with newly made toys all day, but took a break until I finally got my act together.  Just hangin' on by a thread here, ladies.  We'll see.

April New Release Showcase for AuroraWings

So here we are with a new AuroraWings Showcase, even before our FB Challenge starts next Monday!  Nothing like new images to lift the spirits and I dare say our spirits need some lifting, not to mention the additional time most of us have to take our mind off things and enjoy our hobby.  So YAY!  All of my projects have been colored with Copic markers.

Mitzi's first new image, Peony Bridal Bouquet, expands the gorgeous options for these beautiful flowers. With so many colors to choose from, I know I'll be coloring them again and again.  Since I'd just used the original Peony Bouquet last month, to combine with the new Peony Sprite in rich pinks and reds, I went a with a much more muted palette to make a free standing shaped card to look like an actual bridal bouquet.  It's fussy cut and popped atop a base cut with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circles and a ruffle of lace from my stash and only needed a lovely crinkle ribbon bow from DL.Art to finish it off.

I'm entering this in the DL.Art April Linky Challenge AG, the {Pin}spirational Challenge#259...

Next up is Peony Corner, another versatile shape with many possibilities for creativity.  Again I went with a palette I'd not used previously and printed it quite small to fit a favor box, using a die from Momenta.  The sentiment and corners are delicate stickers and again, I've used ribbon from DL.Art.

I'm entering this in the Not Just Cards March Challenge, ...

Would you believe there's yet another gorgeous floral image to show?  Isn't this beautiful combination of Spring flowers stunning?  Spring Posy is another image I know I'll be coloring again and again. It's versatility really knows no bounds and pansies come in such a variety of yummy colors.  Here's another 'Thank you' that is supposed to look like the bouquet is being presented in a box that I've done using Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page with corners (remember them?) and scored and folded for dimension.  I filled it with some of the shredded tissue used in my previous pic.

I'm entering this in A Perfect Time to Craft Open April#42020 AG, Simon Says Monday Spring Mood Board, Scor-pal More than one Score Florals April, ...

Now the next image is a personal favorite of mine because Taurus is my sign, (as well as Mitzi's).  Although it's the 2nd sign of the Zodiac, it's the 3rd Mitzi has done in the Zodiac series, along with Gemini and Aries.  But just in case you don't have an earthy, loyal, sensual, determined, strong willed (read stubborn-who, me? ha!) babe in your orbit, Mitzi made a Taurus 2-pack of this lovely so you can color her with or without horns.  ;D  Of course this one I've colored with red hair and California poppies which are currently blooming where we live.

I'm entering this in the LTSCB#132 For the Girls, Morgan's Art World #4 AG, ...

Here's the softer, gentler version. It's amazing how different this gal looks in another palette, eh? The gorgeous die is by Jeanine's Art and I pulled apart some Recollections flowers and doctored them up with Copics and a gel pen to coordinate with my coloring.  Sentiment on both projects are Small Talk Stickers from Tim Holtz.

I'm entering this in the TTRCD March 31 AG, Coloring in Scrapland March Spring...

All of the above images can easily be accessed using the New Release section HERE on and HERE on Etsy.

And how about a coupon, good through the weekend?

But wait!  There's more!

This lovely image, called A Healing Prayer, is a Gift with Purchase, of any amount, through this weekend.  It will be sent via email from Mitzi, with love, to help you through this stressful time.  Enjoy and be well.

Im entering this in the Papercraft Challenges #56 Pastel Colors, ...

March New Release Showcase for AuroraWings

We're really on the ball this month, with 3 new Sprites on the AuroraWings Showcase Blog the first week, plus another exciting surprise.  We're gearing up for Spring in the Northern Hemisphere so, of course, our thoughts turned to flowers.

First of we'll start with Peony Sprite, a flower I ADORE, but have had not much success at growing in my own garden.  That doesn't stop me from having bouquets of these lovelies throughout our house from the Farmer's Market, whenever possible, however.  The hardest part is choosing colors.  So here I decided to add the lovely Peony Bouquet, available HERE, in the Floral Section at and HERE on Etsy, to give me more luscious petals in the mix.

Here's a closeup of the combined images.  Peony Bouquet is available in jpg only, but when given a choice, I always opt for png in case I want to merge images.  I've used a Spellbinders Grand Decorative Oval die and Graphic 45 Floral Shop DP.

Here is what the new Peony Sprite digi looks like all by herself.  Still plenty of gorgeous petals to color.

I'm adding this to the DL.Art March Linky Challenge, the Unicorn Challenge Flower Power, ...

Next we have Dogwood Sprite, as sweet as can be and carrying a flowering branch from her tree in bloom.  I decided to keep her as "Springy" as possible with basically white blossoms with just tinges of pink and yellowish green.  She's fussy cut and popped atop a mat that was cut using only the lacey interior of the Spellbinders Venice Lace Designer Series set and using a larger Spellbinder's oval to cut the interior.  The added Dogwood Blossoms were cut with Susan's Garden by Sizzix and the branches from Spellbinder's Ivy Die D-Lites.  The interior of both the die cut and image blooms were done with Prills from USArtQuest.

I"m entering this card in the Outlawz Twisted Thursday AG Challenge, ...

Finally, we have Agapanthus Sprite, an abundant border flower in our garden, also known as Lily of the Nile.  The flower heads remind me of fireworks and I often use them in arrangements for our party on July 4th along with white hydrangeas and red roses.  I've colored her in the light lavender of the majority of our blooms, as well as the deeper bluish purple of the giant variety. (my favorite!)  What a gorgeous image for a bride or wedding attendant, especially a sweet flower girl.  The lovey die here is from Jeanine's Art.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Something Feminine Challenge, the OUtlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Challenge AG, ...

So are you ready to go shopping?  Don't forget the coupon, available for use in either shop on both new and current images.

All new images can be found in the New Release Section HERE on and HERE on Etsy.

But who is this?  Mitzi surprised us with another GWP!  Meet Popcorn Sprite, yours free with a qualifying purchase this weekend after coupon.  Be sure to check out the AW Showcase Blog to see the amazingly creative ways my DT sisters have used this cutie.  I chose buttery goodness and a bit of a pun and drizzled a Viva Pearl Pen in yellow (the best match of all of the goo I have in my stash) over her fluffy kernels to make her irresistibly YUMMY!  I managed to isolate part of her hair and manipulate it behind Popcorn Sprite In my Printmaster Pro program to keep the image, at least, flat (another example of why I choose the png images when they are offered) but I couldn't resist adding 3 blooms that reminded me of popped corn.  Isn't she adorable?  You know you want her, so go!  Mitzi will send the image via email within 24 hours.

I'm entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays AG challenge, Creatalicious #182 AG w/ optional Monochrome,   ...

So there you have it!  Another fabulous AuroraWings Showcase that I hope inspires you to color and have fun.  And when you do, be sure to pop over to the Stamps by AuroraWings FB Group and enter our March FB contest for the opportunity to win free images.  New rules allow coloring only and even past projects, so we'd love to see you there.

New images for AuroraWings Showcase

An exciting new Showcase is happening today on the AuroraWings Showcase Blog featuring 4 new images and a surprise!  First off we have Mouse Sprite, the Sprite version honoring the Year of the Rat that was released in January in time for the Chinese New Year.  He's colored with Copics as are all of my samples, and I had fun furrying up his little hood.  In the browns I thought he was cute for a masculine card and couldn't resist the "cheesy" sentiment.  LOL  That chees in the corner was from an old corner punch I found in my stash.  WooHoo!

Mouse Sprite available on HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.

Next we have Phlox Sprite and what a beauty she is!  I adore the way she is clutching that bouquet and the color choices for this flower are amazing!  I thought the pink candy stripe version was especially Springy, but I know I'll be coloring her again and again.  I'll be using this as a Valentine's Day card, although it's not overtly a Valentine, but wouldn't she just be perfect for Mother's Day, as well, or any occasion you want to send loving greetings?

Phlox Sprite available on HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.
I'm entering this in the DL.Art Thankful Thursday #252 Valentine's Day, Simon Says Wednesday With Love, The Paper Shelter For the One You Love, ...

Tulips are one of my favorite Springtime flowers that bloom in a myriad of colors.  Here Mitzi has created a second version of Tulip Sprite that allows for the mixed bouquet of your choice.  Tell me those pigtails aren't the cutest ever!  I was excited to find gorgeous crinkle ribbon from DL.Art that matched perfectly.

Tulip Sprite 2 available on HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.
You can also find the original Tulip Sprite HERE on

I'm entering this in the DL.Art February Linky Challenge, ...

We're going to switch gears a bit here, with this next one, to reveal the second in Mitzi's Zodiac series.  Perhaps you remember the Gemini Abundance Twins from last year HERE.  This regal beauty is Aries, a full size coloring page, suitable for framing, or reducing in size for cards and other projects. Again, the possibilities are endless, as you'll see in the Showcase post.  Aries is a fire sign so I chose my colors accordingly, but she also looks AMAZING in the limited palette chosen by some of my DT sisters so be sure to check it out.

Aries is available on HERE, or check out all of the New Releases HERE on or HERE on Etsy.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Floral Fantasy, ...

And what's a Showcase without a coupon, eh?  Here ya go!
You know how this works!  Good through the weekend at either shop

So are you excited yet?  Well, there's one more surprise!  How about a Gift w/Purchase?  Yes, this adorable Koala Sprite is YOURS with a qualifying purchase.  I had this design in mind as soon as I saw these cuties, so I flipped it in my printing program to facilitate the design. Cradling her babies, this image just tugs at my heartstrings.    Tell me they aren't the cutest EVER!?!  In light of the recent fire devastation in Australia, this image is especially precious to us all.  Hugs to all who have been affected by this horrible disaster.

I'm entering this in the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends C#125 Challenge AG, 2 Crafty Critter Crazies February, the Classic Design Challenge Blog Feb, Double Trouble challenge #49 Again and Again (using repeated flowers and Nuvo drops on the letters, ancient DP from my Stash as well as a cut up part from another large flower for the leaves and critters)...

Please remember that the coupons are good for any images in the shop, not just the new ones, so enjoy your shopping time.

And also don't forget that although we've discontinued our Blog Challenges, we've continued on our Stamps by AuroraWings FB Group with modified rules that now allow not only complete projects, but also coloring only and they don't even have to be new!
