My Dark Valentine Blog Hop Day 4

How was everyone's VD?  Wonderful, I hope, as was mine, but I'm still having fun playing in the fab My Dark Valentine Blog Hop, sponsored by LeighSBDesigns and thought I'd wake you up with a creepy past make using stamps from Delicious Doodles (now called New Delicious Doodles on Etsy).  You can read the original deets HERE and see a whole bunch of dimensional pix of the of the card but the links there are no longer valid as Teri has moved shops.  I used Grotesque CupidI'm Ba-aack, and Hungreeee! for this step card.  And speaking of "hungreeee", I am, so see you after breakfast.  Ta!

Ribbon and Flowers for Delicious Doodles

As the winner of last month's challenge at Delicious Doodles, I'm thrilled to be Guest Designing this month for their new Ribbon and Flowers Challenge. Although my first thought was to use one of Teri's dark images from her fabulous Dead Skulls Designs, since we met many years ago as DT sisters at Haunted Design House and I was also a DT member for her Delicious Darkness challenge (both sadly closed, sniff sniff), I decided instead to go light and Springy with the gorgeous Beautiful Blossom.  She's cut and matted with Spellbinder's Grand Labels Four with peach pearls from Want 2 Scrap and gorgeous hand dyed crinkle ribbon from the Mermaid's Tale First and Third Addition at DL.Art.

Here's a closeup of the stunning Beautiful Blossom image.  She's colored with Copics and I've added a bit of detail to the blooms with my Prismacolor pencils. I printed the image twice (in case I boobooed, but also) because I wanted to fussy cut and add dimension to 3 of the flowers and the gorgeous butterfly.

Thank you so much to Teri and the DT gals for letting me join them this month. Be sure to stop by the Delicious Doodles Challenge to see their gorgeous inspiration and come play along.

P.S. Delicious Doodles is also having a DT call so if you're interested in working with Teri's beautiful images, you can read all about applying in THIS POST.

I'm also entering this in the DL.Art April Linky Challenge, Simon Says Wednesday AG, TTRCD Week of March 28 AG, Creative Fingers #127 AG, the Outlawz Twisted Thursday AG, Crafts and Me April Things with Wings, and Creative Knockouts AG.

The Nights Are Drawing In at HDH

OOOps!  Spent yesterday on the return trip from Santa Fe and still recovering, so I'm a day late at posting my project for the new challenge at HDH.  As the days are getting shorter we dungeon dwellers are thrilled that The Nights Are Drawing In.  Feel free to interpret this theme in any way you like, as long as it's creepy rather than cutesy.  I've been tripping over this piece of kraft DP with the flocked haunted house from the MME Haunted Collection since last Halloween and thought it just might work for this project, with a bit of distressing with scissors on the edges and some inking with Black Soot.  Not sure what would be worse, staying out as darkness descends, or risk going inside.  If you dared knocked on the door, who would answer?

My inspiration came from the fab Monster In My Closet from Delicious Doodles. Would this be the welcoming hand you'd see beckoning you in?  EEEeek!!!!

I printed the image 4 times on kraft and fussy cut and popped the appropriate parts.  With all that fabulous shading, no coloring needed, except a bit of blood red dripping from his mouth. The sentiment was done with word stickers from the Enchanted Collection from Authentique, and to answer that question....... ...YES!!!!!  BE sure to pop by HDH for further inspiration and do come play along.

I'm entering this in the Delicious Doodles September Make it Dark ChallengeLeft of Center using the LOC theme, Sept Dream in Darkness ATG, Sept. Forever Dark ATG and A Step in the Dark Sept FB contest

Fowl Play: Fur and Feathers/Tooth and Claw Take TWO

It's the midway point for the current Macabre Monday Challenge and I was so brimming with creativity that I had to do another take.  This time I've used Fellow Minion Teri's images for my Fur and Feathers/Tooth and Claws, available HERE in her Etsy shop.  The main image is The Beast which I've lightly colored with Copics, matted with blood red. The background digi paper from the Slasher set from Smeared Ink (shop to reopen soon, WOOHOO!)  I've also used Raven  and Owl be m-Eating You from Delicious Doodles.

I've fussy cut the birds and, in the case of the owl, sort of broke his other wing. I printed two sets of beast claws twice so they could really grip those babies. The sentiment is computer generated and stamped with spatter from the Inky Dreams rubber set, also from Smeared Ink, and if you think this is deliciously gruesome, have a gander at the other makes on HDH and come on and play with us!

I'm entering this in the Left of Center Insects/Animals Challenge, A Step in the Dark August FB challenge, Smudgy Antics August ATG/s optional Creepy Creatures and Dream in Darkness August ATG.

June bugs, Gems and Gew Gaws at HDH

Okay, so I'm a day late with my Macabre Monday post (actually 2 weeks and a day, but who's counting?) because yesterday was so damn BUSY!  Three posts did me in, so lucky HDH gets it's own day to remind you of the current challenge called June bugs, Gems and Gew Gaws.  (Hey, I don't write 'em, I just do 'em.) So in case you haven't guessed, I did the bugs and gems part (although I suppose you could call my project a gew gaw as it is totally decorative and non functional).  The fabulous digi is called Emerging and is from Delicious Doodles, now called ArtiDoodles on Etsy because of the evil VAT laws and a long story.  She's colored with Copics, fussy cut and mounted on a piece of palm tree bark that I picked up on a morning walk ('cause I thought it might come in handy some day and today is the day) on which I've added black gem swirls from Recollections.  She's got fancy gem eyes, too.  Black Alpha Bead letters were strung on a wire and also glued to the bark and a mossy and lichen encrusted twig was added to the base.  (Yes, I walk with my head down.  Never know what you might find) And TaDAA!

Be sure to check out the fabulous makes by my Minion teamies and come play along.  Remember, we don't do cute, though.  Capisce? (Capeesch for you non Italian speakers.  LOL)

I'm entering this in the Delicious Doodles Dark Side only FB Challenge, Left of Center using the LOC theme, Sisterhood of Crafters Going Buggy, the Delicious Doodles Blog Hop and ATG Challenge and Dream in Darkness June ATG.

Ancient Evil Week 2

It's the second week for our Ancient Evil challenge at Haunted Design House and after careful consideration, I decided the serpent was the way to go.  Even had the Bible to back me up, so hey!  Don't know which of these guys tempted Eve, but I'm guessing it's the big fat one.  Pretty scary, Dont'cha think?  The fab image is Ophiuchus, from the Horrorscope Zodiac range at Delicious Darkness. The fab DP is from the Beastly Paper Pack which I've recolored in purple.  the quote is Matthew23:33, cut with Spellbinders Labels 2 and inked with Distress.

I printed Ophiuchus 4 times to fussy cut and pop him for dimension.  He's colored with Copics.  The snakes were embossed with my Cuttlebug mesh folder for some added texture.  Then I stuck a feather in his cap (and called him macaroni).  Just seeing if you were still paying attention.  Hee hee!  Please check out HDH to see the rest of the evils resurrected from history by the Minions and please see if you can scare one up on your own.  You know you wanna!

I'm entering this in the Delicious Doodles On the Darker Side challenge.

Taurus! for Wicked Wednesday ATC

Wow!  Seems like it's been ages since I've been able to craft anything but DT projects.  Any disruption to my normal schedule totally throws me for a loop.  And as fun as it was, I'm still recovring from my birthday trip, but today I did a little catching up on my fave challenge blogs and noticed Wicked Wednesday's Challenge this week is Taurus.  Well, that be ME, so how could I possibly let this one go by?   Delicious Doodles is sponsoring and I adore Teri's Horrorscope images, also found in the Delicious Darkness shop (DUH!), so of course, that's what I used.  Just his head, though.  I did the background digitally by copying a Taurus symbol over and over from the net and printing it in shades of red.

I printed Taurus twice so I could fussy cut and pop him for dimension.  The sentiment is done with my Dymo and I've added a jump ring through his nose.  Me, stubborn?  That's a lotta BULL!

Macabre Monday Rotten Romance - Week 2

WOW, yesterday was a creative marathon for me. Loved participating in the week long Kickstart Your Art Challenge at Smeared and Smudged and I definitely plan to continue my Art Journal work more regularly from now on.  But I'm most proud of my piece for Haunted Design House Week Two-Rotten Romance, sponsored by our very own Minion Sis Teri, of the Fabulous Delicious Doodles.  Or should I say Delicious Darkness?  That's right, Teri's creepier images have a fab new home HERE, as well, if you don't want to sort pass any gorgeousness and fluff at Delicious Doodles while searching for the perfect dark image.

As soon as I saw the challenge, I knew I'd be using her Horrorscope version of Virgo.  Looks like she doesn't plan on staying that way for long.  LOL  These images are so beautifully done in shades of gray that I only colored a few red bits here and there.  WooHoo!  She seems to have her sights set on...

HUNGREEEEEE!  Oh yeah, he's hungry alright, just not for her.  He's clawing his way outta there but she's hot on his trail.  Yikes!  (BTW, I found him on the Delicious Doodles Shop, as Teri hasn't quite had time to move all of her darker images to their new home, so shop around.)

Now, I was gonna quit there, but then Teri introduced a brand new image, Grotesque Cupid, especially for this challenge.  EEEK!, isn't he FABULOUS!?!
Well, he was a must for my little scenario and was the inspiration to do a side step card so he could appropriately take aim.  My thought was to add a word bubble that said "Shoot him, before he gets away", but I thought the whole idea was pretty obvious at this point.

The images were printed a bazillion times so I could fussy cut them and add dimension.

Even on the little guy.  HeeHee!  Isn't he the cutest?

The backdrop is done with my Nesties Gothic arches and hearts and I've used a Memory box spiderweb die as an overlay.  Conveniently, the current Delicious Doodles Challenge is Use Die Cuts/and or Punches so I'll be adding this to that challenge as well.  Be sure to pop over to HDH and see the fab makes by the rest of the team (don't forget to scroll down for week one's offerings) and come play along, as each of the Gruesome Twosome will receive 3 images of choice.

I'm also entering this in the Left of Center Cute/Creepy Challenge using the LOC theme (although I do think that Cupid is all kinds of cute.  LOL), and the Corrosive Feel the Love Challenge.

The 11th Day of Creepmas

Seriously?  the 11th Day of Creepmas?  Eiyiyi! I've certainly been having a ball participating in this fab Blog Hop sponsored by Smeared Ink and the fabulous Smeared and Smudged Forum.   Blog roll on my sidebar.  Well here ya go.  A snow globe easel card using the fab Evil Snowman from my HDH Minion Sister Teri at Delicious Doodles.  The snow globe itself is a digi from Lacy Sunshine.  I hope they don't have a heart attack seein' what I've put in there.  LOL

I've printed the snowman several times, colored him with Copics, fussy cut, layered, popped him for dimension and added a skull (like a snowball) in his hands cut from the Delicious Doodles Skully Xmas Wreath.  The snow globe itself is made from packaging from tape filled with Flower Soft, and Mica Flakes.

The sentiment is an ancient Rub-On and I've added some snowflakes cut with  a Tim Holtz Snowflake Die and topped with more skullies from the DD Wreath.

Here's a better shot (sort of, it's late and crappy lighting) of the dimension and easel.  I hope you all love this one as much as I do.  Now off you go to Violent Kittie.  I can't believe there's only one more post to go.  I soo don't want this to end.

I'm also entering this in the Delicious Doodles White Christmas Challenge, the Lacy Sunshine Celebrations Challenge, the Simon Says Monday Use a Stamp Challenge and the Left of Center Christmas Challenge.

12 Days of Creepmas Day 8

It's Day 8 of the 12 Days of Creepmas sponsored by Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum and I'm doing double duty today.  Obviously this is my 8th Day offering, but I made it an ATC to also play in the Wicked Wednesday Creepy Christmas Challenge.  The fabulous digis are from HDH Minion sis Teri at Delicious Doodles.  I've used Tombstone 1, although the economical way to buy them is the fab Tombstone Collection of all 6 because once you see them, you will WANT THEM ALL!  I've decked it out for Creepmas with Skully Xmas Wreath.    And just in case you're interested in non creepy stuff, teri has gobs of beautiful mainstream digis at Delicious Doodles as well.  The background digi paper is from the new Smeared Ink Icy Digital Paper Pack.

I printed the images several times, fussy cut and popped portions for dimension.  Keep in mind that an ATC is 2 1/2 x3 1/2" and I have a fair amount of arthritis in my hands. Kinda tough goin'.  Truly a labor of love because I gotta say I LOVE how it turned out.  Since I was unable to fussy cut the greenery of the skully wreath, I added deep green metallic pine branches from a Martha Stewart punch and teeny adhesive gems to the eyes.  I guess stone gargoyles don't have hairy legs or I'd enter it over at the Delicious Doodles challenge as well.  Bummer, shoulda gotten this done last week!  Next up is a fabulous treat from Violent Kitty, and remember, the Blog Roll is always on the sidebar if you lose your way.

I will, however, enter it in the PunkYouGirl Black Christmas Challenge, the Corrosive Challenge Anything Goes, Anything but a Card (it's an ATC) ATG with a Holiday Twist and Left of Center Winter/Holidays Challenge.

Macabre Monday Astrological Atrosities Week 2

It's week 2 of our Astrological Atrosities challenge at HDH sponsored by our own Minion Sister Teri of Delicious Doodles.  No surprise that I've chosen the fabulous Taurus (coming soon to the Shop) because I can be quite the stubborn one on occasion (and that's no bull!  Ha!  I crack myself up!).  I've created my own background DP using a Taurus symbol from the net and recolored it in shades of red.

I printed the image 4 times and fussy cut and popped for dimension.  These are the most FAB images to fussy cut EVER!

Here's the close up.  I've added a silver ring in his nose and did the sentiment with my Dymo label maker.  Stubborn...moi?  LOL

Teri has been working feverishly to complete the entire set of Zodiacs.  She not only has the uber creepy Horrorscope range, but also, (for you delicate flowers) lovely and amazing more traditional renditions of the signs.  And here's the best news of all!  Teri is offering 6 Horrorscope images of your choice to the Gruesome Twosome this week.  Be sure to stop by HDH to see the fabulous makes, both this week and last and come play along.

I'm also entering thhis in the Left of Center Use Metal (his nose ring) Challenge.

Another ATC For A Couple More Challenges

This was actually the planned ATC for the Wicked Wednesday Zodiac Challenge featuring Leo from the Delicious Doodles Horrorscope range.  It so happens to be for my fave Leo, my DB DT sis, the Queen Bee (or should I say of the jungle, LOL) of Wicked Wednesday, and my dear friend Jenn.  Happy Birthday, Chickie!

The image is printed 3 times, fussy cut and popped for the current Fussy Cutting Challenge at Smudgy Antics.  The tiny Leo symbol was found on the net.  It just so happens that our current Macabre Monday Challenge at HDH is also Astrological Atrocities featuring more images from Minion Sister Teri's Horrorscope set.  She is also this fortnight's sponsor so be sure to check out HDH to see more of the images and play along to WIN THE ENTIRE SET!!  I'm on Team B so you'll see my "official" take this next Monday.  Conveniently, the Delicious Doodles Challenge is Anything Goes so WooHoo for that, too.

I'm also entering this in the Left of Center using the LOC theme, and Simon Says Wednesday Anything goes Challenge.

Delicious Doodles for Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge, ADFD Blog Hop and Dilly Beans Sale

The current challenge at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge is Headstones and Graveyards.  WooHoo!  Now, what image to choose?  I adore Teri's Delicious Doodles Graveyard digi which won out because of all the fabulous details.  Beautiful on it's own, but even cooler in 3D.

I printed the image at 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 (so I could mat for ATC size), printed it 5 times, and fussy cut up a storm.  Here's the dimensional view and I've gotta say I ADORE how it came out.  For once I'm not joining in at the 11th hour at Wicked Wednesday.  You've got 3 more days to enter and there's fab inspiration by the DT with a prize from Smeared Ink so what are you waiting  for?

I'm also entering this in the Left of Center Challenge using the LOC theme), ATC's with Attitude Neutral Colors (I hope they consider B&W neutral), Simon Says Stamp and Show Brought to You by the Letter "S" (SCARY and SPOOKY) Challenge, the C.R.A.F.T. Anything but a Card Challenge  (it's an ATC) and the very first challenge at PunkYouGirl Anything Goes.

There's a fab Blog Hop going on at ADFD showcasing their new June Club release and it's perfect for Father's Day.  Not a Club Member? (Well, why the heck not?  There are fab discounts to be had). Join in the Hop for a chance to WIN this fab release but HURRY!  Start HERE.

Dilly Beans Sale extended!  What are you waiting for?

Wicked Wednesday and Delicious Doodles

The current Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge is Gothic Love and what would be more perfect than one of Sister Minion Teri's fabulous Delicious Doodles Gothic digis?  I've chosen "I'm NOT Goth!!" (coulda fooled me!) and colored her with Copics nearly entirely in RED because the current Delicious Doodles Challenge calls for it, and LOTS of it!  The gorgeous DP is a freebie download from Teri which I've scaled down to ATC size (LOVE how it came out!).  The Skellie key is Jolee's.  The heart she's holding is the cut off head of a stick pin (with a tiny keyhole made with a Sharpie).   The rest of the sentiment is done in alpha stickers by making Memories. I considered just sticking the pin through but I didn't want my ATC to be lethal, LOL, and I've colored my heart Alpha Beads black with a Sharpie for the corners.  Besides Wicked Wednesday and Delicious Doodles, I'm also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes, and the Outlawz Copic/Promarker Birthstone Colors Challenge (January/Garnet).

Famous Last Words at Haunted Design House

It's another Macabre Monday and the second week for our Famous Last Words Challenge at Haunted Design HouseNow these last words don't necessarily have to be from a famous movie or well known novel, although I happened to choose "Pet Sematary" by Stephen King, a personal FAVE!  They can be death bed utterances or confessions of someone famous or infamous. Be creative, but try and be dark, or funny AND DARK, ok?  My piece combines digis from some of my FAVE artists. The graveyard background is by fellow Minion Teri of Delicious Doodles.  You can find yours HERE.  I actually cropped out the building and sky in the digi and combined two of the gravestones only (one flipped) to get a more rustic setting, then shaded a bit with Copics and sponged with Distress.  I had to include the quote from Jud in the book because no truer words were ever spoken (in this case, anyway).

The fab kitty (who inspired it all) is from fellow Minion Ike.  You can find yours HERE. I colored him sort of roughly with Copics (he's been hit by and car and came back from the dead, after all) but the eyeballs were clipped from a Pet Sematary Book cover I found on the net (see the gravestones reflected in his eyes? WAY COOL!) and pasted in with my Printmaster program.  WooHoo!  I kinda love it!

I have to say that the word "Darling" often gives me chills, but not in this way.  This final word is uttered by Rachel (after she's killed by the son they resurrected and then hubby decides it would be a good idea to try it with her too. Silly man!)  and the rest lies in your imagination.  EEEK!!  I crinkled and distressed this quote to represent her gravelly voice as she lays her hand on Louis' shoulder.  The mind is way more creepy when left to it's own devices but I imagine Rachel doesn't look a hell of a lot better than this chick, (part of)one of the Zombie pin-ups by Smeared Ink.  You can find yours HERE. So there's my cheery little offering for fine Monday morning.  Now scurry off to Haunted Design House to further taint your week and please consider getting your creep on and joining us in the dungeon.  I know you wanna.  xx

Lots going on today so if you're looking for The Altered Alice, click HERE, Haunted Design House click HERE (BTW, I'm using a Bombshell for that one and it's got a little skull on it too, just sayin'), or BBTB2, click HERE, oh, not yet for that one, but it'll be live at 8:00AM PDT.  Decided to get this show on the road a bit early 'cause it's one LONG hop!  Yea!

The Smeared Ink Smeared and Smudged Forum is a fabulously supportive and fun community of artists, specializing in alternative, vintage, and Gothic stamping.  Join the forum for more exciting challenges, events and fabulous comraderie, visit Smudgy Antics, the Smeared Ink Challenge Blog, or do a bit of shopping at Smeared Ink (25% off all digi's for a WEEK in honor of the hop, WOOHOO!), it's ALL good! My project was inspired by the Free Skull Appreciation Day Stencil at Skull a Day.

I decided to do what I do best and create a shaped front card using Cricut Design Studio and my Cricut Expression. The "Love" portion is from the Lacy Labels cartridge with a heart from Graphically Speaking in the "O" spot and a rounded rectangle from George for the back.  (BTW, the "LO" and "VE" are not joined on the cart, so you'll have to weld two "Love's" together and hide the contours of the separated parts to have this work.  Clear as mud?  Well, Cricuteers know what I mean.)  I changed up the "O" a bit and used the retired Love Hurts Heart digi from Tiddly Inks and the Gothic Heart image from Delicious Doodles.

I flipped the skull and printed it twice and fussy cut to pop the skull itself and the upper jaw.  Then I used my MS Graveyard and Drippy Goo punches and some adhesive beads to embellish the letters.  The fab DP on the inside mat is MS too.  So are you having fun yet?  Off you go to Nydia's blog to see the awesome project she's created.
Here's the full hop list just in case you get lost!  Lots of skully goodness going on and the chance for lots of PRIZES so grap a cuppa and start hopping!

Wretched Wednesday at HDH

OOps!  Macabre Monday came and went and I was still in the party mode, so Creepy Glo allowed me to share her Wretched Wednesday post and do my CASE (Copy and Steal EVERYTHING) a Minion Challenge for HDH today.  As the bar was set unbelievably high, I decided to play nice and do one of my CAS (Clean and Simple) card layouts that might be easier to copy in case you want to play along.  To be honest, I'm getting kind of fond of these.  My fab image is from our own Teri's Delicious Doodles called Eyeball Wormetti.  Perfect for a dinner invitation, no?  The image is cut and matted with Nesties Deckle Rectangles and the large mat behind embossed with a poison label from Tim Holtz for Sizzix.  The fork was cut with my Cricut using the From my Kitchen cart and the bone handle from Create a Critter.  I guess the wormetti wound around the tines looks a bit hairy and dark, but it was as close to my coloring as I could get.  Sentiment is computer generated and of course nothing is complete without MS Drippy Goo blood.  Easy peasy compared to my fabulous Minion Sisters, but we're bending the rules a bit to allow for inspiration rather than downright CASE- ing so be sure to take a look at the fab projects from the rest of the Minions and try giving it a go.

Macabre Monday Pirate's Booty

This week for Macabre Monday at HDH It's a call for Pirate's Booty. Create a dark, Gothic or Halloween based art piece with a pirate's theme. Our sponsor this week is our very own Minion Teri from Delicious Doodles and I've used several of her fab pirate digis to create my easel card. The background is Treasure Map inked heavily with Distress. Then I've cropped, minimized and merged Skull and Crossbones2 to fit on the sail of the Pirate Ship Silhouette which I fussy cut and popped on top of the map. The skull and bones die cut is from the Cricut October 31st cartridge.

The fabulous wench is Pirate Polly, colored with Copics and out for blood. I take that back, she's NOBODY'S wench, but I'll bet she's got quite the booty.

The side view gives you a better view of the layers which I hope are enough to qualify for this week's Delicious Doodles Loads of Layers Challenge. The sentiment is computer generated and cut and layered with Nesties Labels Two. The Minions have been suffering from a number of horrible atrocities this week but there is still plenty of inspiration at Haunted Design House. Just wait 'til you see Teri's new Pirate Zombie releasing on Wretched Wednesday (and you'll bet Greepy Glo will be showcasing it to it's fullest) and don't forget there's still time to get your creep on and apply to enter the wicked realm of the Minions of Haunted Design House.

Macabre Monday Freaker's Free For All!

Huh, you say? That's the Minion's term for "Anything Goes" (within the spirit of Haunted Design House, of course.) You know, sometimes that's even harder for me. I printed about a gazillion images and had the hardest time deciding what to use. I've been a bit ADD and the thought of coloring became a bit overwhelming today so I went the CAS route (so unusual for me) but LOVE how it turned out. I took our own Teri's Gothic Heart image from Delicious Doodles and sized it to fit the Love Hurts heart from the Tiddly Inks Basement that I'd printed in red. The sentiment is computer generated, the background embossing is the Tim Holtz Poison label and I've used MS border punches for the graveyard and drippy goo.

Gothic heart was printed twice and fussy cut around the skull and then just the top half and popped for dimension atop the TI heart which was also popped. Cool, no coloring, just 4 square gems for the corners and that was it. Now aren't ya just dying to bring out your dark side? Hey, with no parameters...Woohoo! If you need more inspiration, go take a look at Haunted Design House and don't forget our Wretched Wednesday when the slackers (OOPS! I mean Glo and whomever else screwed around this weekend instead of completing their DT commitments) post their projects. They're always FAB with all that extra time they have and all. LOL Just teasing, guys. xx I'm also entering this in the Cardmadfairy's Digi Days Hearts Challenge, the Corrosive Challenge Love Bites, Sentimental Sundays Feel the Love Challenge, and of course, Delicious Doodles All Loved Up Challenge.

Macabre Monday RESUMES!

Ready to get your creep on? Wow, it was a much needed rest for the Minions at Haunted Design House after a hectic Halloween season, but I must say I've been missing the dark side. We're finally back with great new challenges and a brand spanking new Minion rattling around the Netherworld with us so be sure to give a huge welcome to Imp of Insanity Ike! We're sort of easing into creepiness that is pretty much guaranteed not to offend this week. LOL Our challenge is Got Goth? and I've chose to go the elegant route with black and lace, etc., inspired by the gorgeous image from our own Teri's Delicious Doodles called Dark Valentine.

Tell me she's not beautiful! That gorgeous shading is all in the digi, so all I had to do was fussy cut and color her lips blood red. She waits patiently at her window (the Decorative Window Scene Die from Heartfelt Creations) holding her perfect red rose. All of the other roses have withered and died but hope springs eternal, as does her undying love for the one she longs for. He calls her his angel, and so she is, the guardian of his heart, the keeper of his soul. Someday...

The lovely DP is from the Shades of Grey collection of digi papers from our own Susan's Crafty Chaos. (We're missing you luv, hope you're on the mend) The Minions are a talented bunch (all but me, I've nothing to sell, BooHoo!) so please check out the sidebar at HDH and have a look at the goodies. In order to get the depth I needed for the window, I had to use 3 layers of foam strips because Dark Valentine is popped as well. Thanks heaven I make my own with Fun Foam and transfer tape, or I'd be broke. The intricate lace across the edge is the Decorative Lace Border Die, another exclusive from Heartfelt Creations made by Spellbinders. This border is really wide so a portion of it was covered up but I think it may turn out to be a new fave for me. So there you have it. The first challenge of 2012 and one that I'm sure many of you will be dying to enter. Go have a look at the fab inspiration by the rest of the Minions and pop back on Wednesday when Creepy Glo posts (because she's special). I am also entering it in the Polka Doodles Through the Window Challenge which has been extended through Jan 8. (You've just GOT to take a look at the gorgeous examples by the DT there. Exquisite!)
