GDT Gig for A Step in the Dark with Aurora Wings.

WooHoo!  I'm thrilled to be guesting for a time for A Step in the Dark and this fortnight's Challenge is ATG (Dark) or Dark Fantasy, sponsored by Aurora Wings.  ASITD is a new dark crafting blog and I hope you come and join the group.  I've chosen the fabulous AW Santa Muerte for my project and made a wall hanging in traditional Dia de los Muertos colors.

This gorgeous image comes as I've colored her with Copics here and also without the background HERE.  Isn't she beautiful? (and trust me, not nearly as intimidating to color as she looks.)

The perfect DP is from K&Co and I've added some fun embellies.  In the bottom right corner I've used a Tim Holtz tombstone die cut, some Recollections roses that I've recolored with Copics and a fab spiderweb (and skullie) charm.

On the left I finally managed a hand made rose using the Tim Hotz pinecone die, enhanced with some Stickles.  I'll be making more of those for sure,now that I've finally got the hang of it.  Also some lovely Drippy Goo (MS punch) in red foil CS to match the foil flowers in the DP.

 Finally, I've made a triple looped bow with my Bow (un)Easy and added a gorgeous dripping butterfly die cut from Cheery Lynn that I originally saw on ASITD DT sister Teresa's Blog.  Thanks so much, Teresa!  (See, I told you you want to check this place out)  I've grunged up a skullie charm to add to the butterfly and finally, the sentiment is from Tim Hotz.  Be sure to vist ASITD to see the fabulous makes from the DT and some play along for a chance to win a $15 GC from the amazing Aurora Wings.

I made sure I used plenty of metal to enter the current Use Metal Challenge at LOC.

New Challenge at The East Wind-Ribbons

WOW, this year is going fast!  It's already the first of July and we have a new Challenge at The East Wind Challenge Blog.  The DT is using the fabulous July Freebie, Belle of the Ball, that you can receive when you sign up for the newsletter (right side of challenge blog) and our new theme is

I've made this gorgeous gal a bride to also remind you that our current FB Contest is Wedded Bliss.  Join our FB page to enter that challenge which runs through July 17th.  She's colored with Copics and I've added a tulle veil wound with ribbon and a gorgeous rose to her fabulous hair.  The DP is from the DCWV Luxury Stack and I've framed the image and done the sentiment with peel offs. My First DT Challenge Card for The East Wind

WOW!  It's April 1st already and that means another FABULOUS challenge at The East Wind. I'm thrilled to be posting my first official DT card.  There are new challenges on the 1st and 15th of every month and on the 1st, the DT always showcases the Freebie you can receive just by signing up for the TEW Newsletter.  Just look for the bright pink box on the right sidebar, enter your email and name, and you'll receive a fabulous Freebie each month. WooHoo!

The Challenge Theme this time is Use a Sentiment and you can use any image at all, but of course we especially love to see what you do with the fab TEW digis. (And you get to enter TWICE, if you do!)  I've made a shaped card that resembles the "panoramic" sugar eggs I had as a child.  It was designed in Design Studio and cut with my Cricut. The sentiment was cut and embossed with my Cuttlebug Emboss Plus Fanciful Labels Folder and the sentiment was computer generated.

Just look at this adorable gal!  Her name is Aurora-Easter Egg Hunt and I'm totally in love with her! She's colored with Copics and her little bunny suit and stuffed bunny have been flocked.  I printed her several times so I could fussy cut and layer her for dimension.  The grass and fence are MS punches.

As you can see there's quite a bit of depth to the card.  Don'tcha just love her little bunny tail?  I've also added a boatload of flat backed pearls to finish it off.

Showcasing Leo for Simply Steampunk

This month the Simply Steampunk team is working with the second half of the beautiful Steampunk Zodiac images drawn by Abigail Larson for SBS.  Today I bring you Leo.  I think the fabulous images are just perfect for birthday cards so that's what I've done here.  The Steampunk Digi papers are from Bearly Mine Designs. 

I've colored lovely Leo with Copics, fussy cut and popped her with foam.  The Zodiac references are quite subtle, which give them versatility.  I'd say the tail is sort of a giveaway here, though.  LOL

I enjoy adding Steampunk elements such as Tim Holtz tiny gears to the Prima flower centers as well as the die cut gears and a sort of tattered and distressed doily which are also Tim Holtz for Sizzix. 

To balance the design I added 3 faux screws that I made from Card Candi by scoring the centers and wiping with Guilder's Paste.  Finnally, the edges of the DP were distressed with my Zutter Distrezz It All.  All month long the DT showcases the newest featured Steampunk digi set, so please visit Simply Steampunk Challenges often. Dilly Beans Black,White Plus One Other Color

Our challenge at Dilly Beans this week is Black, White, plus one other Color.  I'd been playing with Robots again and came up with this idea for Static Robot.  Isn't it fun?  Seemed perfect for the challenge since I wanted to use more embossing with my Robotz Cricut Companion folders and the light bulb gave me the third color.  WooHoo!  Did the background mat with Candy Cane Stripes, added a computer generated sentiment, highlighted the robots with Copics and there ya go.  Almost made itself.  LOL  Please stop by the DB Designer's Blog for more inspiration and check out the SHOP to see what's new.
