Dilly Beans Autumn Colors

Oh how I love the Fall!  the nip in the air, the leaves turning colors, it's my favorite season.  This week our Dilly Beans challenge is to use Fall colors.  The inspiration for my project came from a tag included in my Anthropologie catalog (yea! recycling!)  and the sentiment got me thinking.  I cut a slot in the tag, mounted it on corrugated card stock, popped it so there would be room for the dime (a penny was too big, this is an EXPENSIVE tag, LOL) and foam sandwich to fit and added the sweet little Dilly Beans Heart Owl.  I know I just used him, but he's a FAVE!
So it's a spinner tag!  (Directions are on SplitcoastStampers.)  WooHoo!  (That's what HE said)  there he goes.  He's colored with  Copics and has lidded google eyes (Darice in the child's crafts section of J's).  I've tied it up with a little twine.

Wish I could have done a video so you could see how he spins.  The pretty leafy corners were a freebie from Dilly Beans but are unfortunately no longer available.
Still going...   "woohoo" was cut on my Cuttlebug using the discontinued Typewriter Alphabet dies.
My DT sisters have outdone themselves this week with fabulously beautiful creations so be sure and stop the by Challenge Blog to ooooh and ahhhhh.  We're excited to see your projects as well.  Just be sure to include a stamp, be it rubber, clear, or digi.

I'm also entering this in the 4 Crafty Chicks Beauty of Leaves Challenge, Kraft Outlet Lavish Layers, Charisma Cardz Things with Wings, DLArt Thankful Thursday, Halloween, Fall Colors,and/or OwlsDigi Stamps 4 Joy Leaves, the Recycle, Re-purpose and Reinvent Sept Challenge, the Smudger Reduce, Re-Use RecycleChallenge, and the Anything But a Card Texture Challenge.

Tiddly Inks Spin Me Around Challenge

What a fun challenge we have at Tiddly Inks this week. Have you ever made a spinner card? Well, they're loads of fun and pack a punch and Christy has a great video tutorial posted on her blog HERE. I'm totally in love with the new Harmony at Home and Love Hurts stamps so I combined the two to make a Christmas card. I printed the long village on DP from the Wintersong Collection from S.E.I and then used my Cricut to cut the slot for the spinner because I wanted too use the cut out as well and it assures a perfect cut.

Then I fussy cut around the village and used sticky strip to pop it on the mat (also S.E.I.) so the spinner would work. I sized the heart accordingly and changed the color to red. I colored the little hearts on all of the houses red too.

See here it goes spinning across the card.

For once I finshed the inside of the card right away. The sentiment is computer generated and I used 2 of the single house sets on either side. (One is flipped) I added some Raindot snowflakes and some adhesive beads and I LOVE how it came out. Not in your face Christmassy, but great "across the miles" card, don't you think? Have a look see at the fab creations from the rest of the Tiddly Inkers and we invite you to play along.

Hoppy Birthday Cut File Available

Here's a birthday card I designed for my dear frog loving friend Carole. (Check out her amazing blog HERE) I just can't get enough of that frog from Paper Dolls so this time he's jumping all over the place. The front is a spinner card and the sentiment (which I'm afraid is awfully hard to read because of the mix of patterns I chose) says "Hoppy".
Inside is a pop-up "Birthday" with a couple more frogs that hop out a you when you open the card. I couldn't resist the DCWV Spring Glitter Stack but now that I look at the pix I guess it made for an awfully busy card, especially because I blinged up a storm using adhesive gems. I still think it's a fun one and Carole got a kick out of it. Because it's pretty thick I used the Crayon box from Tags, Bags, Boxes and more for an envie and it fit perfectly. Custom Crops picked up my design so if you wish to make your own you can view the the full article and instructions and download the .cut file HERE. If you think it's cute I'd sure appreciate a comment on the Custom Crops site (and here of course). And if you'd also like to view the other articles and .cut files I've done click HERE for the list.

Happy Bee-Day

I had a blast making this for my dear friend Leah from the Cricut message board. Her mb name is BeeCherryLady so of course a bee themed birthday card was in order. It is my first spinner card, and my first word pop-up. The card was made using my Cricut Design studio for every aspect. I used A Walk in my Garden for the bee, hive, and flower cuts, Plantin Schoolbook for the welded words, and George for the honeycomb effect (which was inspired by JustforSharing from the Cricut mb). The little bee on the front spins from side to side when the card is tilted. I read SusanBlueRobot's tutorial on how to do word pop-ups for the inside. Her instructions are just awesome! I added bee brads on wire to simulate flight as well as lots of doodling. I even made some tiny cherries out of skittles and DMC floss by her name. This is my favorite card yet!
