PPinkyDolls Kitties!

Did this sweet card for the Ppinkydolls FB Group challenge.   The challenge is to use a PpinkyDolls image with an animal and (big surprise) I chose kitties!  I colored them up immediately but then had probs figuring out a background until I came across my pawprint punch that I'd all but forgotten about.  Embossed my card front with a large dots Cuttlebug folder and punched strips in pastels. Added some cute kitty die cuts here and there and a fab sentiment from Ginger's House.

Tell me it's not the sweetest image EVER!  It's called Playing with Kittens.  I've colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  Made the kitties look a bit like Himalayans (which I've always secretly wanted, but don't tell Goliath and Jezebel)  I kinda love this one.

I'm also entering this in the Outlawz Monday Greeting Cards ATG Challenge, Papertake Weekly Take Your Pick (pastels and ovals), TTRCD March 31-April 6th ATG, Crafting from the Heart ATG, Simon Says Monday Pastels, Simon Says Wednesday ATG, Whoopsie Daisy Add a Sentiment, Suzy Bee's ATG/Add a Sentiment and One Stitch at a Time Nature.

Free Your Beautiful Mind

Today my Gecko Galz projects for the month are being featured on the Gecko Galz Blog.  I've already blogged the others, but if you've missed anything, please go take a look.  My final piece is a wall hanging.  All quotes are from the Gecko Galz Beautiful Words Collage set.  First I re-sized the beautiful minds quote to fit the resin light bulb from Prima, matted it in green and layered on the DP I'd cut to approx 7x9" and matted that in black.

I added dimensional embellies that matched those on the image.  The light bulb is from Prima as are the flowers.  The lifelike acetate butterfly (that I've had in my stash for eons) is from Nature's Illusions. The Tim Holtz keyhole was added with brads.

I've added a small quote to  the left side of the main image, also from the Beautiful Words set and glued on a metal key from K&Co.

I printed the Happiness Quote twice (in different sizes) and used the larger words only for the bottom portion of the hanging which was matted twice and hung with jump rings.  Then I fussy cut the large butterfly from the quote and the other from the smaller version I printed, bent their wings up and attached them in the center only.  I'm hoping this will the spur my creative mojo when I'm feeling down.

I'm entering this in the Anything But a Card Use 5 challenge (5 different embellies, flowers, butterflies, light bulb, key hole and key), Crafty Calender March Add Some Metal, Craft for the Craig, Bingo (using flowers, sentiment, image), Simply Create Too ATG, Digitally Sweet ATG, Crafting with an Attitude , Simon Says Wednesday ATG, the Outlawz Twisted Thursday ATG and Aud Sentiments ATG + Sentiment.

Butterfly Kisses and Springtime Wishes

A new challenge starts today at Lacy Sunshine.  The new theme is Butterfly Kisses and Springtime Wishes and I've recycled a gift bag.  The DT is using stamps from the adorable Flower Pot Pretties and I've chosen Tina Tulips, one of the first flowers of Spring.  She also just happens to be the Loyalty Program digi for thhis week, so if you used a Lacy Sunshine Stamp in the last challenge, you can email Audrey for free (see BLOG) or purchase her at a 50% discount for the duration of this challenge HERE.

Tina is colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I've been trying to take more time and add more depth and shadows to my coloring.  I hope it shows. LOL  She's fussy cut and popped and I've added a bit of reindeer moss to the bottom of the pot.

We also have a new Lacy Sunshine recipe cards that we'll be filling out for each projects listing our supplies and the colors we've used.  Hope you find that helpful.  Feel free to enlarge the card and copy and print it if you wish.

Here's the dimensional shot.  The DP I've used is from the DCWV Mariposa Stack.  I've fussy cut just around the wings of butterfly on the DP and bent them up to show the mat underneath and added additional butterflies fussy cut from one of the other papers in the stack.  I've also added die cuts on opposing corners from a Tim Holtz die and the For You sentiment from Die-versions.  Be sure to visit the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog  for fabulous inspiration from the team.  Can't wait to see what you create.

I'm entering this in the 613 Avenue Create ATG challenge,  Sentimental Sundays Springtime flowers (plus sentiment-For You), the Corrosive Challenge Hop into Spring, the Outlawz Friday Coloring Challenge ATG, Di's Digi Designs Spring is Here, QKR Stampede Add a Sentiment, Aud Sentiments ATG + Sentiment, Crafting with an Attitude ATG, Simon Says Wednesday ATG and  Graph'It Markers Springtime.

I LOVE Hats!

So here's a little inspiration for Gecko Galz with images from the Fashion Hats Collage sheets.  I gotta say I'm a sucker for hats and when I found this quote on the net (several years ago, I think) I wrote it down because I got such a kick out of it.

Here's a closeup shot so you can read it.

The card was made with the Sizzix Accordion Flip 3D Album die with DP from Colorbok.  The lovely flowers are Petal Lu.  The images and sentiment were sized in my Printmaster Platinum program and cut with Spellbinders Labels One.

I decorated both sides to use more of the fabulous hats.  Wonder if she had to sneak those hat boxes in when hubby wasn't looking.  LOL (Of course I never do that, do you?  ;D

You've still a couple days to join in our March In the Garden Challenge so check it out HERE for a chance to win a $25 Gecko Galz Shopping Spree and pop in our FB Group to check out the 6 separate March challenges that run through March 31st.

Aurora Wings Double Feature Release!

I'm joining the Aurora Wings Showcase Team on the Showcase Blog today for the Double Feature Release of Edamame Sprite and Little Pirate. These two cuties are making their debut today in the AW Etsy Shop.  I started with the adorable Edamame Sprite because I had the perfect DP in my stash.

Tell me she's not precious with those 3 little sweet peas in her arms.  She's colored with Copics with enhanced shading from Prismacolor pencils in my fave color of sweet pea flower (my birthday month flower) that just happened to match the DP, too.  She's cut and mounted with Spellbinders Grand Ovals and popped with foam for a bit of dimension.  I'm not telling her that she's really Edamame which are (yummy) soybeans in Japanese. LOL

For embellishment, I cut apart some silk sweet peas, tied them with a picot edged ribbon and used one of the leaves for a pea pod with flat back pearls for the peas.

I'm entering this card in the Cute Card Thursday Spring Fever challenge, DL.Art Thankful Thursday ATG, Inspiration Destination ATG, Crafting for All Seasons Pastel Hues, Fab 'n' Funky Spring into Color, {Pin}spirational Challenge #136, the Crafter's Cafe What Season are you In? (Spring), Inky Impressions Pastel Colors, the Outlawz Twisted Thursday My FavoriteCreative Fingers ATG, Show Your Digi Love Aurora Wings, QKR Stampede Think Spring and The Paper Shelter Spring Delights

My second project is a tag with Little Pirate.  He's the newest in the Aurora Wings "Mer-kids" collection.  You can find all these sweeties along with their grown up counterparts in the Aurora Wings Etsy Shop HERE.  The funky Dp is K&Co from ancient my stash and I've distressed it with my scissors and inked the edges.  Tag is cut from kraft with a deep sea blue mat.  The anchor is a Magnolia die and I've added Card Candy doubloons and  some distressed gauze.

Little Pirate is also colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and popped.  He's trying so hard to be a toughy, but we know better.  LOL  He's quite the treasure himself.  xx

I've embellished with a skull and crossbones charm from my stash on top of a Magnolia distressed flag, a Tim Holtz Word Band, vertical Alpha Beads and rope and fibers from my stash.  There's more fabulous inspiration from the Showcase DT HERE (and maybe a little surprise for you ;D)  so be sure to check it out. Thanks so much guys for letting me join you this week.

I'm entering my tag in the Southern Girls Boys, Boys, Boys challenge, the Moving Along With the Times Tags challenge, the DL.Art March Monthly Linky challenge, Crafting by Designs Masculine Projects, The Male Room Under Water and Addicted to Stamps and More ATG.

Dream in Flowers

Here's one of my March inspiration pieces for Gecko Galz.  All stamps used were from the Gecko Galz In My the Garden digital stamp set.   Looks like Spring, doesn't it?

In my printing program, I layered IMG10 with IMG3.  I also printed IMG15 twice and cropped the sentiment from from IMG19. The main images were colored lightly with Copics and fussy cut.  I carefully tore around the the music part of the stamp and inked that area with Frayed Burlap Distress.  I fussy cut the two butterflies from IMG15 and attached them at the bodies only on top.

Here's the dimensional shot.  I layered a 6x6" square card with very old DP from my stash, tucking lace tape from Decollections under the DP edges before gluing it down.  The images were raised with adhesive foam at an angle and I added some ribbon snippets and a floral cameo from WeR Memory Keepers in the top corner.  I distressed the sentiment with the edge of my scissors and inked it with Frayed Burlap before popping it top left.  I balanced it out with 3 adhesive pearls in the bottom right corner.

I'm entering this in the Crafty Boots Spring Challenge, the Deep Ocean Vintage Challenge, Fan-tastic Tuesday ATG/Make it Square, Going Grey With Scrap Creations Pastels, TTRCD March 17-23 ATG, Card Mania Spring, the Cheerful Stamp Pad In the Garden, Through the Purple Haze for Your Mum or Special Woman, Robin's Fetish Purple and Green, Pile it On Use 3 of Something (3 pearls) and OSAAT ATG with Women.

Anything Goes at Aurora Wings

It's a new challenge day at Aurora Wings with the ever so popular ANYTHING GOES theme.  To be honest, ATG is more difficult for me than having a narrower theme because I have the hardest time making up my mind which of the fabulous images I want to use.  Jezebel to the rescue, reminding me that I've not colored nearly enough of Mitzi's fabulous kitties so I let her choose.  She's recently developed quite the sweet tooth so I wasn't surprised that she chose the adorable Cupcake Kitten.  I've made a tent card with Dp's from the 8x8" DCWV Sweet Stack and cut the window with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen.  I thought the ribbon detail looked like frosting and the sweet cupcake embellies are from Melissa Frances.

The adorable image was printed twice.  Of course I had to color the kitty white, since Jezzie thinks white cats are the boofiest (most beautiful) of all.  Okay, it was already white, but the shading was done with a light touch of Copics and Prismacolor pencils for the fur detail.  The yummy cupcakes were colored totally with Copics.  I've fussy cut the full image and then just the two front cupcakes and popped them for dimension.  They're all sitting on a lacy border punch from MS.

Here's a little better view of the dimension inside.  While looking for some suitable embellies, I came across those large chipboard letters in my stash.  I have no idea where they came from, or who they're by, but I gotta say, they brought the whole thing together for me.  Now go check out the ATG choices by my talented DT sisters on the AW Challenge Blog. We can't wait to see what you create.  And don't forget our Animals Challenge on the Stamps by Aurora Wings FB Group page that runs through March 31.  See you all there.

HDH In the Naughty Corner

It's our midway post for the now monthly challenge at HDH.  The theme is the Naughty Corner which gives you plenty of leeway. You can either make a naughty project, or a project about someone or something who's been misbehaving, or create something with corners, or decorate the corners.  We're easy in the dungeon that way, but we DON'T tolerate anything overtly cute or mainstream.  Capish?  So I had great plans and decided to decorate a candle box.  The fab corners are the gargoyle corners from Delicious Darkness that is coming back to life (after the nasty VAT laws ruined everything) on Etsy as ArtiDoodles.  Teri is slowly managing to add her vast array of fabulous stamps to her new shop and I'm hoping these corners will resurface soon.  The good news is that they are currently available as part of the Gargoyles Rubber set from Smeared Ink. (scroll down to get yours)  The center piece is a Skull from Anatomy 101 from Smeared Ink and was printed, fussy cut and dunked in the melt pot as instructed in the fab tutorial by Black Dragon in the Smeared and Smudged FB group.

Here's the dimensional shot.  I printed each corner 4 times and fussy cut and layered them with Pinflair and had full intentions of dunking them in the melt pot as well, but got sidetracked with a very exciting (but in the end disappointing) basketball final for the Big 10 championship where my beloved Spartans lost to Wisconsin.  The 3+ glasses of wine consumed during the game and my inconsolable state from our loss forced me to put the thing together without the faux porcelain finish on the corners.  Honestly, at that point I might have ended up with 3rd degree burns.  I expect harsh repercussions in the dungeon but they'd been worse had I abandoned the project all together so there ya go.

I'm entering this in the Smudgy Antics March ATG challenge.

Lacy Sunshine Go Green

Time for a new challenge at Lacy Sunshine Blog and our theme this challenge is Go Green.  We want to see a loads of the color green on your card and what could be better with St Patrick's Day right around the corner, eh?  The adorable image is Woodland Wisp "Wispy".   I've used Dp's from K&Co and added some gold matting and accents to match the Irish flag.  there are shamrock stickers strewn about and I've modified some peel offs for my sentiment.  And check out that double double bow!  I'm digging my new Bow-it-All tool that I bought after losing my Bow (un)Easy.  I know it's here somewhere, but I never really did get the hang of that one.  LOL

I've fallen totally fallen in love with the new Briar Whimsys Collection at Lacy Sunshine.  They're such magical little creatures.  "Wispy" is colored with Copics. I just had to make her a little Irish lass with red hair. I've added some Stickles to her wings and a little ladybug sticker to her flower.  There are tiny adhesive beads at the ends of her antennae and some more shamrocks at her feet.  Please visit the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog to see more inspiration from my DT sisters and check out the latest Loyalty Program digi that participants who used a Lacy Sunshine image in the last challenge can get for free.  WooHoo!  and don't forget to scroll down to see if you were a winner from last week.

I'm entering this in the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge, the Outlawz Friday Coloring challenge, the CCEE Stampers Green Challenge, the DL.Art March Linky challenge, Creative Moments ATG/Spring Greens, Simon Says Wednesday Things that Fly, Penny's Paper-Crafty Ribbons and Bows Challenge, the Crafts Galore Encore March ATG Challenge, the Unruly Paper Arts I Should Be So Lucky Reader Art Quest, Tuesday Throwdown Good Luck, The Stamping Boutique St Patrick's Day and Pinspirational Challenge 135 Think Green.

A Spring in Her Step

It's time for a new challenge at The East Wind with the theme A Spring In Her Step.  The days are getting warmer, the flowers are beginning to bloom and we want to see your Spring projects.  I've chosen the beautiful Lucy Loo 'Scent of Spring'.  Can't you just smell the new blossoms?  Spring is in the air.  She's cut and matted with Spellbinders Labels Seventeen and popped atop DP from the DCVW Spring Stack.  I've used my sewing machine to pierce the holes between the quilt squares of the print and my gel pen to connect the dots for the faux stitching detail.  The coordinating ribbon is a snippet from my stash.

Lucy is colored with Copics with a bit of extra shading from Prismacolor pencils. Talk about a fun image to practice hair coloring on.  WOW!  The sentiment was computer generated, popped and matted.  Quite a breath of fresh air, don'tcha think?  Please visit the TEW Challenge Blog for more fab inspiration and don't forget our current FB contest running through March 17th. Time to lose those Winter blues.  Can't wait to see what you create.

New Release at The East Wind

There's a new release at The East Wind today and this Lucy has plenty of 'tude. Meet Lucy Loo 'Tainted Love' and I gotta say, she's one of my faves ever!  Her fab hair just screamed pink and black to me, and her expression begged for sarcasm, dont'cha think?  I went with sort of a wonky design using ancient skully and heart DP from DCWV, a strip of tattered looking webbing ribbon from May Arts (from Really Reasonable Ribbon), fabulous polymer clay skulls from Creepy Glowbugg's Etsy shop and a capsule I ripped off from the hubs.

Lucy is colored with a combo of Copics and pencils and I drew in her fishnets. Just wished I'd thought to put a rip in them, as well.  The sentiment is computer generated using the "Catchup" font and makes me giggle.  Come on, tell me you wouldn't like to say that to at least one person you know.

Be sure to check out our FB Group every Tuesday and Friday for the new release from The East Wind and join in our current FB Challenge which runs through March 17th.  A new challenge begins on the Challenge Blog March 15th. Winners from last fortnight's Doodle Doodle Doo challenge will be announced shorty.  Come join us.

I'm entering this in the DLArt Thankful Thursday ATG Challenge, Create and Inspire Challenge 17, TTRCD ATG March 10-16, Whimsy Stamps Use a Sentiment, the Digitally Sweet Font Talk challenge, Show Your Digi Love TEW and Left of Center using the LOC theme (or perhaps "bad luck"  LOL).

Artbymiran FB Progressive Challenge

Okay, here's one just under the wire.  It's for the February FB Progessive Challenge at Artbymiran.  The beautiful image is called Gem and I received her for free because I played in January's challenge.  You can join in the challenge at anytime by purchasing the "Reserve Listing" in the artbymiran Etsy shop (at 50% off), but after that, as long as you enter the challenge, your next month's digi is for free. Cool!  I had a hard time deciding what colors to choose, but eventually went with blue.  She's colored with Copics with some Stickles on her diamond and matted with holographic and glitter paper for extra sparkle.  To add further shine I added gems by Jolee's Boutique and metallic swirls from Colorbok.

I didn't mean to wait 'til the last day.  Her hair and skin were colored for weeks but I gotta say, the dress intimidated me a bit.  Great practice and all in all, I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

I'm also entering this in the Artbymiran ATG challenge, the Scrapbooker PhD Bling Challenge, the Simon Says Monday "B" is for (bling) challenge, Digi Galore It's All About Her, Fab 'n' Funky Focus on the Image, Crafting for All Seasons Girly Girls, 613 Avenue Create ATG/w optional Use Aquamarine and Eureka Stamps ATG.

CAS + Texture

Sorry I've been a bit remiss in posting.  First I had to take some time to shovel off my tables as the available space had gotten so tiny there was no place to actually color or assemble anything any more.  And after that was at least manageable I decided to try and work ahead a bit on my DT projects, instead of waiting 'til the last minute, but that meant I had nothing to post until the appropriate date.  However, I did check out the Outlawz Sunday CAS challenge which is Add Some Texture and one of the Gecko Galz March FB Challenges which is the Birds and Bees and came up with this.  "Unique" is cropped from the Gecko Galz Just Words Stamp set, the hive from the In My Garden Stamp set, and the bee cropped from the Nature's Bliss collage sheet.  I changed the color of the stamps to gold and brown and all images were assembled and printed with my Printmaster Platinum program.  I embossed a paper strip with the Honeycomb Cuttlebug folder, tore off the corners and inked it with Distress and added yellow Liquid Pearls for even more texture.  Finished it off with some adhesive pearls and called it done.  Yea, for CAS or you'd have to be waiting until Friday.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Monday "B" is for (Bee) challenge, the Digitally Sweet Font Talk Challenge and Simon Says Wednesday Things That Fly

Gecko Galz In the Garden

Busy day today.  Click HERE for The East Wind.

It's the first of the month so that also means a new Challenge at Gecko Galz. Our new theme is In the Garden.

I've made a card using the "pyramage technique".  First I chose a paper from the Victorian Garden Papers (from the March Victorian Spring Club Kit, sized at 4 1/2" x 6" ), an image from the In the Garden Collage set and a floral frame from the Victorian Spring Icons (also from the Club Kit) and sized, layered and printed them using my Printmaster Platinum program.  The layered card front was cut out and inked around the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and adhered to a  5" x 6 1/2" card base.

I also printed the collage image separately 4 more times and the floral frame once more as well. To do the "pyramage technique", using my Spellbinders Classic ovals, I cut concentric ovals from the 4 unlayered collage images, starting with the largest one first.  I then used the image with the cut out to place the next smaller oval die on the next image, carefully taping with removable tape, and so on, so that when the die cut ovals are layered and popped with adhesive foam, they form the complete picture. (P.S. You can use the images with the cut outs to do a second card in the reverse, if you wish)

The extra frame was fussy cut and I went around the edges both inside and out with the side of a yellow green Copic marker because it was too difficult to ink but I wanted the raw edges colored. The card was finished off with a triple bow from died seam binding and a crocheted butterfly from my stash.  Be sure to visit the Challenge blog and drool over the vintage goodness from my teamies. Come play along with us, you have all month to join in.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Monday ATG Challenge, My Sheri Crafts Welcome Spring, The Stamping Boutique More Than One Layer, Creative Knockouts Lots of Layers, Southern Girls Get Your Girly On, the Crafter's Cafe Lots of LayersCrafting for All Seasons Dies and/or Punches and Simon Says Wednesday ATG.

Lacy Sunshine a Passion for Fashion

If you are looking for my East Wind card, please click HERE.

A fun new challenge starts today on the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog with the theme of "A Passion for Fashion"  (Use a digi with a fancy dress or do a shopping theme.) WooHoo!  Right up my alley.  Tough choice for me, there are so many beauties from Lacy Sunshine, but I finally decided on Nicolosia Venice City Girl. I've made a twisted easel using variations on the Spellbinders Labels One die and my new fave Noor design Lacy Square die.

Nicolosia is colored with Copics in the traditional Mardi Gras colors of green purple and gold. She's fussy cut and popped for dimension and I've added some adhesive beds and gems to her necklace and mask.  I think she'd be stunning in other colors for a New Year's or Halloween Masquerade Ball as well, don't you?

Here's a side view of the twisted easel.  The mask die is also from Spellbinders which I've cut twice, trimmed and layered.  The sentiment is peel off stickers from Starform.  My DT sisters obviously enjoyed this challenge as much as I did, so be sure and visit the Challenge Blog and leave them some love.  You'll also see the winners from challenge 52, as well as the new Loyalty Program digi that those of you who entered the last challenge with a Lacy Sunshine image can get for free and those who did not, may purchase at 50% off for the duration of this challenge.  We also have a new "colored image only" category, so you may link up your unfinished, but hand colored, Lacy Sunshine images as well for a chance to win an image of your choice.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Monday ATG challenge, the Di's Digi Designs Birthday challenge, Digi Galore It's All About Her, the Outlawz Friday Coloring challenge ATG, Creative Knockouts Lots of Layers, Pile It On Use Adhesive Embellishments (beads, gems and sentiment), Simon Says Wednesday ATG, the Crafter's Cafe Lots of Layers, and Crafting for All Seasons Dies and/or Punches.

New Challenge at The East Wind

Time for a new challenge at The East Wind with the theme of Doodle Doodle Doo.  (Add some doodling or faux stitching).  Gotta say I almost missed the actual challenge part, thinking that the cute Unkytoon freebie from the newsletter this month WAS the doodling.  OOPS!  Fortunately, my layout conveniently lent itself to faux stitching, so I after a minor adjustment, I was good to go.

I colored the little witch Unky with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and cut her out with a Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.  I inked it while still in the die with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.  The cute web banner and spider dies are from La-La Land, the kitty is Obsession Impression and the word stickers are from Authentique.  Be sure to visit the Challenge Blog to see my DT Sisters' creative take on this month's newsletter freebie. (Sign up top right of the Challenge Blog to get yours each month)  We can't wait to see what you create.  Any digi is welcome, but your first entry with an East Wind stamp counts twice.  Be sure to link up once to your post, and then a second time to your blog.

Here's the important stuff:
