Dilly Beans Mardi Gras Colors

There's a new Challenge at Dilly Beans, use Mardi Gras Colors.  That means we want to see Green, Purple and Gold.  You may use any theme, but I love the festive spirit of Mardi Gras so I went quite literally with the adorable #484 Adriana's Mask Framed.  I colored Adriana with Copics and a metallic gold Sharpie for her mask.  I found some green specialty paper from M's that I've had FOREVER and thought it look a bit like fireworks but couldn't manage to make the frame work with it, so I fussy cut her and mounted her on a metallic doily.  I jazzed up her mask with some feathers and glittery metallic bow and cut the sentiment with my Cuttlebug.  Looks like she's ready to celebrate BIG TIME.  My teamies have come up with loads of inspiration so stop by the Challenge Blog and take a peek.  And did you know that you now have 2 weeks to join our challenge as we've gone bi-weekly for the new year?  Hope to see you there.

I'm also entering this in the Addicted to Stamps and More Holidays Challenge, 613 Avenue Create ATG/Party/ Celebrate, the Crafter's Cafe Bling it On, Simon Says Monday ATG, the STAMPlorations Stamps and Feathers Challenge and Digi Stamps4Joy Glitter and Sparkle.

Showcasing Romance Emma for Simply Steampunk

I'm really loving the versatility of the Steampunk Romance Digis drawn by the fabulous Abigail Larson for SBS.  Although originally release for Valentine's Day, I've done another Steampunk Christmas card using the lovely Romance Emma.  I've framed Emma using the Cuttlebug Brocade Window Embossing Plus folder, using more of the K&Co Christmas Cheer stack, then used Rub'n Buff to gild it.

Emma was enlarged in my Printmaster Platinum program to fit the window, colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped.  I've used gold peelies around the frame and for the ornate corners as well.

It wouldn't be Steampunk without some gears, these cut with Spellbinders dies and again rubbed with some gold.  The metal accents are all Tim Holtz.

The bottom little Christmas card embellie is another from K&Co.  (Told you I had a wad of this stuff!)  More gears, etc.  Those Victorian times were nothing, if not ornate, LOL.  Please stop by Simply Steampunk to see more images showcased by my teamies.  We have posts going on throughout the month.  and please come play along with our December "Anything Steampunk" challenge which runs through January 2nd.  You needn't use a Simply B Stamp to play, but you just might win some.

Here is the photo inspiration for Addicted to Stamps and More where I'm entering my card.  The gold elements really inspired me, as well as the elegant vintage feel.

I'm also entering this in the Cuttlebug Mania ATG Christmas Challenge, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Card "That's Entertainment" challenge (inspired by "Little Women"), and Twisted Tuesday "Cutting Corners" (Fussy Cutting with a Twist of Fancy Corners) Challenge,

Outlawz Sunday CAS Angel Challenge

You can breathe a sigh of relief today. Here's a short, sweet respite from Creepmas.  This week's Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge is Angels.  See, I do play along with the challenge, even when I'm not GDT.  LOL  Best thing about CAS is they go together quickly (providing you have an idea).  I planned to make this a one layer card using digi's from the AFD's December 2012 Club kit. (The club is no longer operating and I can't seem to find the images in the shop, oh well) Even colored the image minimally with Copics to avoid bleed through ('cause I use cheap card stock) but finally decided it need a border to look more finished.  I arranged my digi's and sentiment in my Printmaster Platinum Program and used different shades of blue to print.  Then I embossed the card blank with a my Cuttlebug (don't remember the name of the folder and can't find it on my messy desk (big surprise).  By saving the file I can easily print multiples and it's flat with no embellies and A2 size so they'd be inexpensive to mail.   Now if I could only get over my postal phobia...

I'm also adding this to the Addicted to Stamps and more CAS Challenge, Crafty Cardmakers CAS, and Flutter by Wednesdays Any Winged Creature.

Dilly Beans Glitter and Jewels

Our challenge this week at Dilly Beans is Glitter and Jewels.  I used one of Megan's fab whimsical flowers, #549 Hello Framed, to make a fairly CAS all occasion card.  Not a whole lot of coloring to be done, but I used Copics in Autumn colors and applied adhesive gems.  The frame is cut with a Nesties square and both the image and mat are popped for dimension.  I made the glitter strips by applying 1/4" Terrifically Tacky Tape to the mat (one at a time)and sprinkling with glitter.  Use a brush to clean off the excess and you have fabulously straight lines.  The black beaded lines are peel offs.  Kinda different for me, but it was fun.  Please visit the Challenge Blog for more fabulous inspiration from my DT sisters and be sure to come play along.

I'm also enering this in the Sarah Hurley Autumn Glow Challenge, the House of Gilli ATG/Fall, 4 Crafty Chicks Bingo (using Flowers, Sentiment, Bling), Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes, and the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS Challenge.

Yipes, Stripes! at Dilly Beans

It's Friday again already.  Do you believe it?  Time for a new challenge at Dilly Beans.  This one is easy peasy, STRIPES.  I've used one of the fab new images, #540 Owl Always Love You.  He was so much fun to color.  Love his stripey feathers and tatooed wings.  My color combo came from the fab striped DP from Heidi Grace which looked great on the Kraft card stock.  I printed the image twice so I could fussy cut the eye and pop it.  I added a clear epoxy sticker for some shine.  Then just a few adhesive beads and I was done.  Pop over to the Challenge Blog a bit later for more DT inspiration and come and join us.

I'm also entering this in the DL ART Thankful Thursday Birds Challenge and the Digi Makeover Challenge #77 Stripes Challenge at the Paper Makeup Stamps Blog, Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes and the Addicted to Stamps, Use Craft Challenge

Dilly Beans Black Purple and Pink

Clearly I'm having trouble getting back in the crafting groove but I did manage this week's Dilly Beans Challenge which is Black, Purple and Pink.  I've used the adorable Teeghan's Spider Framed 2 which was a tough call because Megan has added so many fab new stamps to the Dilly Beans Store.  I printed her multiple times, on white and then on purple for the background.  Her hair is paper pieced and I'll give you a little tip,  to paper piece with a dark background, flip your original image and then print on the reverse side so you can see where to cut.  After about 4 different tries, I finally managed to punch around the page with Martha's webby punch (I swear it's designed to make you feel like a total idiot) and added a gingham bow and flower from my stash.
Had a bit of fun with dimension with the skully bow and cute spider and couldn't resist some google eyes and gems for the skull.  Be sure to visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the DT cooked up this week and come play along.

I'm also entering this in Shelly's Images Tic Tac Toe Challenge (using ribbon, free, and die cut or punch), Addicted to Stamps and More Halloween Challenge, and the Art With No Bounderies October/Halloween Challenge.
