"All Aflutter" For a Few Challenges

I've been dying to enter a number of my fave challenges again and life seems to always get in the way, but when I saw the Beating Hearts ATC Challenge at Smudgy Antics and the current itinerary at Desert Islands Crafters sponsored by Smeared Ink along with the month long February Challenge on the Smeared and Smudged Facebook Fan page I thought I could sneak in a threefer.  The heart and wings are from the Candy is Dandy Rubber set from Smeared Ink which is currently retired, but may become part of the Rubber Club at some future date.  It is, however, available as digis HERE as a set and HERE and HERE as individual stamps.  The heart was heat embossed in red and colored a bit with Copics.  The wings are from the flying ice cream cone and stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white for the chalkboard technique for the Feb Facebook Challenge (ask to join the group, if you haven't already).  I didn't have any white ink so I used a white pencil to shade and give it more of the chalkboard effect.

 

For the Desert Island Crafter's Challenge I've used #'s 1,2,5,7,8,9, and 10.  Please visit their blog to see the fab work by the DT and Guest Designers from Smeared Ink and to see the fun itinerary for this challenge.  The ATC was sort of difficult to  photograph because the heart is on an Action Wobble which cast a shadow so here you can see a bit more of the texture by way of the cool web ribbon and Goosebumps Texture Spray and the distressed edges done with the Tim Hotz tool.  Gotta love that Tiny Attacher, too.

 

I'm also adding this to the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge which is Movement (anything that moves).

Time Stands Still for Smudgy Antics

I'm so loving the challenges at Smudgy Antics and this week's "Time Stands Still" really touched me.  Been working on this one for awhile, smiling all the time, lost in a memory.  I've used Smeared Ink's romantic Dance with Death 2 drawn by my HDH teamie Ike.  LOVE it! The fussy cutting, not so much.  LOL  But I really, really, REALLY wanted the dimension here.

The fab DP is from the DCWV Tattered Time Stack.  Sentiment is computer generated and inked with distress.  The mini gears are from Tim Holtz.  Hopefully you can see the dimension a bit better in this shot.  Just sort of squeaking this one in, but it was a labor of love.

Can you remember that perfect moment when time stood still?  Mine is forever etched in my mind, my heart, my very soul.

This week's Smudgy Antics Challenge is "Twisted Sister".  Just how twisted can I go?  Well, obviously pretty twisted.  In my defense, we watch a crapload of shows on serial killers and nasty forensic stuff so...yes, t.v. does rot the mind.

Originally this was going to be a Thanksgiving card inspired by the Smeared Ink sentiment from the Serial Killer Santa set.  This ought to give you a pretty fair indication of what's coming.  Scared yet?   Well, you SHOULD BE! 

You can still bail.  Honestly, I wouldn't mind.

Funny how that Femdom set keeps popping up. She's available as a single, too.  The bloody knife is borrowed from the net.  The color scheme (not to mention the candy cane noose) just screamed Creepmas so I ditched the Thanksgiving theme.

While on my morning walk the other day I saw a discarded fast food bag on the side of the road with "Eat like you mean it" on it.  It tickled me, and was perfect for this card so...  Hell, I ALWAYS eat like I mean it, but if you know anything about Ed Gein, you'll understand the rest of the sentiment.  The candy cane border is an EK Success punch and the lovely blood spatter is from the Inky Dreams Rubber set from Smeared Ink.  Oh and BTW, Smeared Ink is reissuing some of their old rubber sets as well as introducing new ones for their new Rubber Club.  For details click HERE.

Wicked Wednesday Head Coverings and Smudgy Antics Tic Tac Toe

Ohoh!  Almost late again for Wicked Wednesday ATC Head Coverings Challenge.  I went back and forth on this one for awhile and then remembered one of the cool new digi's I got from Smeared Ink during their super sale this weekend.  (31% off Digis is still going on but I don't know how much sooner so HURRY!!!!)  This is Rollers.  Tell me she's not YOU some days.  Today she is ME!  The red hair is no accident.  LOL  Neither is the 'tude!  Been a rough couple of weeks.  Went with monochromatic to fit the Smudgy Antics Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge using Distress Inks in Spiced Marmalade, Monochrome, and Fabric or Ribbon (hoping the tulle of her roller bonnet qualifies).  The sentiment is self explanatory.  Plenty of time left in this week's Smudgy Antics Challenge but I've gotta rush for the Wicked Wednesday.  See ya!

Macabre Monday In the Garden of Good or Evil

Happy Monday! Our new challenge this week at Haunted Design House takes us to the garden where good, or evil (or both) lurk. I needed bother to tell you which we prefer, do I? So show us what inhabits the garden of your imagination, the battle between good and evil. I must say that I'm so behind in my gardening that this is pretty much what my backyard looks like at the moment...scary! I borrowed the fab scene from Dark Wallpapers. I pretty much think all garden gnomes are scary, but this dude from Midnight in the Garden of Evil looks particulary menacing.

He's pretty good at wielding that garden tool, don'tcha think? The fabby bat is from Smeared Ink.

I printed him out 3 times and fussy cut and popped him for dimension. the border punch is MS. the Minions had a ball with this one so be sure to stop by HDH for more inspiration, and don't forget Wretched Wednesday when Creepy Glo posts and challenge winners are announced.
