Macabre Monday 666 (+1) the Number of the Beast Week 2

Yes, you read the title correctly.
We Made it!
We are celebrating our 666+1 followers of
our quaint little, dark sided challenge blog.
There are now 666 +1 beasties who follow Haunted Design House! Wow!
So to truly celebrate, we are having a
themed challenge this fortnight.
 Join us, if you dare!

Bring out yer beasties and yer monsties! You could even use the numbersix (or multiple sixes) in your project, or make an Iron Maiden project as well.
It's up to you. Interpret the theme as you like, but remember to keep it
creepy, dark, Gothic, Steampunk, or Hallowe'en in nature.
Keep in mind, this is all in good fun. We are not promoting Satanism,
(nor are we condemning it), but we are celebrating our own popularity,
and having some fun while we're at it.

I've channeled my previous Creepy Cricut Cween moniker and made a wall hanging using Cricut Design Studio and the George and Basic Shapes and the October 31st cartridges.

The center is and appropriate image from RSD MFA and more 6's cut with my Cuttlebug.  I've colored the image with Copics, fussy cut and added it to a  background embossed with the Tim Holtz Bricked folder.  Figured the sentiment was perfect to hang on my craft room door.  What lies beyond makes Hell look like a picnic in the park.

So come on you chickens!  Join us at HDH for some devilish fun!  There are lots of prizes to be had.  What are you afraid of?  You know you wanna!  And if you catch some flack, you can always say "The Devil made me do it."

I'm entering this in the Left of Center Use Metal Challenge (metallic card stock and metal hanger, or just LOC if you prefer).

Demon Lovers for Left of Center

Thought I'd sneak this in for the Demon Lovers Challenge at LOC.  Since the challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous Rick St. Dennis, I thought I'd use one of his images, this one being Zombie Love.  The fabulous sentiment is from Ginger's House, printed twice in two different sizes and cut apart. "What if the one that got away came back"?  Perfect, eh?  The fab doily DP is from the Hallow's Eve 6x6 pad from Creative Imaginations and embellies include a tattered flower from Petaloo, Skellie key from Jolee's and a fab handmade brain from HDH Minion Sis Creepy Glowbugg's Etsy shop.

Gotta say I love coloring rotting flesh!

Macabre Monday Frightening Fairies Week 2

It's Week 2 of our Frightening Fairies Challenge at Haunted Design House and it seems to be stumping a lot of people, including me.  However, I managed to rally and came up with this little woodland scene.  The fab Creepy Mushrooms is from ADFD,  the fairy is actually Banshee by RSD with some vellum wings from Rocking Horsefly from Sami Stamps (which I can't seem to find at the mo).

The images were printed on Kraft card stock from the Paper Temptress and colored with Copics.    Banshee was fussy cut and popped.  The whole shebang was cut with my Spellbinders Grand Labels 1, inked and matted.  "Believe" is an ancient rub-on from Heidi Grace.  Pehaps it shoud have said "Beware", eh?  There's lots more inspiration on the HDH Blog, so come take a look and join us.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Get Krafty Challenge and Left of Center using the LOC theme.

Wicked Wednesday ATC Zombies Need Love Too

Finally got to play at the Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge again.  I'm telling you, 2 week long challenges, back to back, almost did me in.  This week the challenge is Zombies Need Love Too, sponsored by Rick St. Dennis so I thought I'd play along using his Singing Zombie digi.  He was a freebie at one time, and then in the shop, but I don't see him anywhere now.

Anyway, he's colored with Copics, with Glossy Accents on the eyeballs and teeth.   The sentiment was done with my Dymo and the fab brain is from my Minion sister Creepy Glo's Etsy Shoppe.  Would you kiss him?  Not me.  Pretty sure brain breath stinks, don'tcha think?

Wicked Wednesday Creepy Halloween

I'm so glad there still are some challenges out there where I can indulge my Halloween spirit.  Oft times I have more energy AFTER the holiday than before and hey, you just can't have too much Halloween, can you?  So for Wicked Wednesday's Creepy Halloween Challenge I made this ATC using Rick St. Dennis' Abandon Hope.  I considered adding "Trick or Treat", but honestly, would you go trick or treating there?  The image is colored with Copics, fussy cut and glued to a background embossed and inked with Tim Holtz stuff.  The 6's were cut from the Cuttlebug Curls and Swirls Alphabet.

I'm also entering this in the PunkYouGirl Angels and Demons Challenge, and Left of Center Halloween or Creepy.

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Take 2

Ok, don't faint, this is my second post of the day and I haven't even had breakfast.  Just had to do another ATC for the Wicked Wednesday Challenge and you have to do them on separate posts to count sooo....  Please go check out my other one too 'cause I really, really, REALLY love Mad Chessie and I even caught him jiggling on his wobble. This time I chose the Tweedles, Dum and Dee.  They're so goofy looking and the way Dum is pointing his finger made me think of those tee shirts that say "I'm with Stupid", hence the sentiment.  Yes, I intentionally spelled it wrong on the ATC and my Dymo label maker is getting lots of action today.  Again, I've used one of the Rick St Dennis Randi Dandi Wonderland set.  I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do the whole bunch on that Tiddly Inks background.  I'm kinda lovin' how they come out.  I wonder if they'd all like some google eyes?  Well, we'll see.  Tomato and spinach omelette, here I come.

So Seriously BUMMED!!!!!!!!!

Don't faint, this is the 2nd post of the day.  Please scroll down for this week's Dilly Beans.

I had grandiose plans for the RSD June Saturday Freebie Contest at Airless Chambers but I totally misread the deadline yesterday.  Yeah, I know we had all month, but we were out of town last weekend the the planning for the trip and the DT obligations totally screwed up the first few weeks and as we really don't travel well, I've been playing "catch up" ever since.  I thought I had all of today to finish and even postponed my morning walk to get a jump on it.  Then I checked the Linky and I had 1 hour and 3 minutes!  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  Had been fussing yesterday with a part that didn't even make the final  project and abandoned my fab idea just to get it in.  I toyed with giving up, not wanting to dumb things down but I really, really, REALLY wanted to play.  The image wasn't even fully colored and I started to shake during the fussy cutting.  Managed to get it done (minus several fab layers) and then couldn't find DP.  Looked again with 13 minutes to go and as the seconds ticked by, found ok DP, cut 2 (non square bases), printed and cut the sentiment and I thought I was ok.  Threw it down on the floor to photograph and snapped it on the rug.  Uploaded, came here to post (was just gonna throw it on and link and finish the post later) but when I went to Airless Chambers the Linky was CLOSED.  Scared the cat as I screamed obscenities and started to throw things but decided to post anyway.

The sentiment is "Let the Good Times Roll" in French.  He's a party kinda guy. Can't help but think of New Orleans when I think of Voodoo so I colored him in Mardi Gras colors.  His head is on an action wobble and close up, you can see Goliath's contribution in his other hand.  Can you believe I save that s***?  Just knew I'd need a bird leg sometime.  LOL  Well, so much for that.  Maybe when I have time I'll rip it all apart and do what I REALLY planned for this fab image.  Now I think I'll go drink my mid morning snack just to calm down and perhaps stop shaking.

Well, at least I can enter the Left of Center Challenge using the LOC theme, Through the Craftroom Door June 18-24, the DLArt June Linky Party, 613 Ave Create Anything Goes or with a TWIST for a Male and the new PunkYouGirl Anything Goes Challenge (3rd and final entry).

May Freebie Challenge at Sparkle and Glitter

Just sneaking in for the May Freebie Challenge at the Sparkle and Glitter BlogRick St Dennis MFA has kindly provided two fabulous images this month, one on S&G and one on his darker Blog, Airless Chambers.  Of course I planned to do both, but life got in the way.  I bit off more than I could chew with my Singing Zombie project and fear it will have to wait for another day.  I did manage to come up with something for the lovely Paris High Fashion Hat Lady.  My wall hanging started with a papier mache heart which I covered with Parisian DP from GDC.  The Eiffel Tower was cut on my Cricut, embossed and popped.

I printed the gorgeous image twice so I could add some dimension to her hat (which unfortunately doesn't show in the pic).  The feather is a found one from my morning walks.  I tried using Flower Soft on her fur but it didn't give me the look I was going for so I cut and trimmed some marabou to drape around her shoulders.  She's colored quite subtly with Copics and the long earrings are metal tassels from Tim Holtz.  (OOh La La!  I'm tellin' ya, I'd KILL for that ensemble.)  There's a bit of tulle and some gems here and there to gussy it all up further.  Now, I'd best get this published and loaded to the challenge, but not before I thank Rick for his fabulous images and this fun challenge.  Be sure to visit his SHOP to see the huge variety of images available and subscribe to his newsletter to find out all the scoop (and maybe get some freebies ;D)

Macabre Monday "Bare Bones" Week Two

I told ya I was embracing the CAS style!  Here I am doing a SECOND card for the current challenge at Haunted Design House, "Bare Bones".  Have to say I was inspired the the totally fab and uber creepy portait of "Baby Jane" by Rick St Dennis, MFA that is available exclusively on his Blog HERE (on the left sidebar).  I had many a nightmare from watching that movie and as a nightmare inducing birthday is creeping up on my BFF from college I decided to make a little birthday card for her.  It's a one layer card done entirely with my Printmaster Platinum Program.  (Cool shadow effect on the number, eh?  I just found that.  Note to self; learn how to use what I have).

And inside?  HeeHee!  (At least I didn't say "look".)  I probably won't send it as that nightmare inducing birthday is coming up for me next year, but I sure got a kick out of making it.  Be sure to check out the second round of Bare Bones inspiration at Haunted Design House (scroll down to see last week's offerings in case you missed it) and come play along.  CAS means CLEAN AND SIMPLE, no bells and whistles, so they go together in a snap.  What's not to love?

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Challenge.

(Warning!) A Kinda Naughty Valentine

Okay, I'm warning you again that this may not be appropriate for all viewers so you might as well stop here if NC 17 is beyond your rating preference.  I think it's pretty cute though, and I'm hoping my man does too.  (Pretty dang sure he will) LOL  Naturally I've waited 'til the last day to enter Sparkle and Glitter Challenge with Rick St. Dennis but I wasn't quite sure what images to use until I bought some Junkyard Findings from Prima (you'll be seeing those later).  The challenge is Hearts and Hugs and I've colored up the cute Robotics 2//Out of this World and Robotics 101.  A match made in heaven, don'tcha think?  They're colored with Copics, fussy cut and he's popped and she's on an Action Wobble.  Tried hard to gt a pic of her shakin' her booty but it just didn't work out.  The hearts are Spellbinders.

This ended up being one fat card.  Here you can see a bit of the dimension.  She's been flipped to face him and her sentiment is computer generated.  Now the nex pic involves what he's hiding under his Valentine so you might wish to stop here or send the kiddiess out of the room, unless you feel like having "THAT" discussion right here and now.

Umm...what can I say?  The devil made me do it.  HeeHee!  This lightbulb was one of those Junkyard Findings.  I just couldn't resist.  The sentiment is a new one at ADFD.  Thought it was pretty perfect.

Both inside and out the embossing is from the Cricut Companion Robotz folders.  The sentiment (an understatement) again computer generated with some XOX stickers from Stidio 112.  Besides the Sparkle and Glitter Challenge, I'd also like to enter this in the AUD Sentiments Show us Your Inner Sentiments Challenge (bummer I missed the "adult themed" one, HA!), the Art Impressions Stamps Show Me the Love (hearts required) Challenge, Moving Along with the Times Love is in the Air Challenge, and the brand new Sincerely Yours Creations Valentine/Love Challenge.

Wishing you all a very Happy Valentine's Day filled with all the love (and chocolate) you can handle. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Toot Toot! I'm a Rick's Pick!

Sorry, I just can't resist a little horn tooting.  I'm so excited!   I just found out I was awarded a Rick's Pick for my "We're All Mad Here" card.

I have to say it was Rick's fab images that inspired me to come out of my crafting slump and go the extra mile.  It's a creation I'm truly proud of.  Thank you so much, Rick.  I'm so very honored!
