It's time for a new challenge at Lacy Sunshine and the theme is Back to School. Where has the summer gone, eh? There are lots of adorable Back to School stamps at the Lacy Sunshine Shoppe, but Eleanor and Pickles caught my eye. It was the backpack. You see, 4 years ago I made a similar backpack for one of my BFF's daughter because she was starting high school and on Wednesday, she, her Mom and I are flying to CO to take her to U of CO Boulder. OMG!!!! COLLEGE! I can't believe it. (BTW, This is the girl who invented the word "boofy", meaning beautiful, at age 3, and you all know we still use it today. sniff sniff) So I thought it would be fun to make her a new backpack and card. It'll be fun to see if Hayley remembers the first one.

Lacy Sunshine A Little Pick Me Up For My Man
I thought I'd make a little somethin' for my man since it's been awhile. Just a little bit of a tickle to let him know I love him. The adorable image is Lacy Sunshine Josette French Maid (and you better grab her quick because she's retiring and only $1.00). She's colored with Copics and cut with the largest of the Spellbinders Floral Ovals die. The DP was laying on my table from (?), the sentiment computer generated. It needed a bit more so I added some peel off corners (my forgotten thing for OCC). Although I'd planned to use one of the fab new Mermaids (actually, there's LOADS of new images) in the current Lacy Sunshine challenge, this was more important and still fits since it's Anything Goes.
Had to finish the inside of this one. Again, the sentiment is computer generated. Hee Hee! Hope he gets a kick out of it.

Week 2 Chapter 14 The Altered Alice Splendidly Dressed
Happy Easter everyone! April has arrived, which (in the northern hemisphere) brings thoughts of wearing your Sunday springtime best and perhaps donning an Easter bonnet! So we at The Altered Alice want to you to show us your Sunday best; ruffles, ribbons, lace, frills; however you want to interpret the challenge! I've made a little Easter pedestal vignette in a nest with a mini bell jar top.

I've used 4 of the fabulous stamps from this new collection in my project. Is that the Easter Bunny? No, it's the White Rabbit, late again. His sparkly texture was achieved by stamping OVER micro fine glitter that was adhered to the card stock using Be Creative Tape Sheets. I used Memento Ink so I could shade him with my Copics (yes, you can color over this glitter, it's so fine!) His pocket watch was also stamped with Brown Memento and detailed with gold gel pen before being coated with Glossy Accents. He's about to hop through the Looking Glass (resin frame from Melissa Frances). See the checkered floor beyond?
And finally, the beautifully detailed heart is the crowning touch for this little tableau. Both the floor and heart were stamped with Distress Inks and I was so pleased how wonderfully the impressions came out, not matter what ink I used.
My frilly elements for the challenge were the lace, ruffles, ribbon and pompom trim from my stash adorning the little wooden spool pedestal. The base was cut with my Nesties and the text is the same as our book quote for this week. The little resin teapot is also Melissa Frances.
Besides inspiration from my Sisters at The Altered Alice, we have fabulous work by the Stampendous Design Team as well so be sure to visit each week. Enter using the Linky Tool by Friday, April 27 (my BIRTHDAY, WooHoo!). All entries are welcome but Alice in Wonderland entries are encouraged and will receive two chances at the drawing instead of one. Multiple entries are great but each must be on a separate post. Have a glorious Easter!
