Pat the Bunny for Wicked Wednesday

I've been wanting to do another project with the adorable Sleepy Bunny Elf from Aurora Wings and noticed that Wicked Wednesday's ATC challenge this week is Bunnies.  It's been WAY too long since I played there so it fit right in.  I knew right away I wanted to flock the image ( totally into warm and fuzzy these days)and after doing so began to peruse my stash and came upon these little blue baby hand brads.  (I'd actualy been looking for Easter egg brads but they were nowhere to be found, big surprise).  Well that got me thinking baby, which led to baby books...see where I'm going here?  Well, I'm pretty sure "Pat the Bunny" is one of the first little board books that babies receive. It has a fuzzy little bunny on it to pat and feel the fuzzy texture so THAT's where I went.

Tell me he's not the cutest EVER!  I'm getting all warm and fuzzy just lookin' at him.  Although I have lots of colored flock, I decided to use all white over the colored image to soften the effect.  Had to add a pom pom tail and some Alpha Beads as well.  Now I need to recover from all the teeny fussy cutting I had to do to pull this off.  LOL

I'm also entering this in the Sparkle N Sprinkle April challenge (ATG with glitter, flockin or embossing powder), Artistic Inspirations Easter Animal/ATG, 613 Avenue Create ATG or Sights/Sounds/Smells/Tastes of Spring (babies and bunnies), Simply Create Too Easter or Use Bunnies and DL Art Thankful Thursday Bunny Challenge.

My First DT Challenge Card for The East Wind

WOW!  It's April 1st already and that means another FABULOUS challenge at The East Wind. I'm thrilled to be posting my first official DT card.  There are new challenges on the 1st and 15th of every month and on the 1st, the DT always showcases the Freebie you can receive just by signing up for the TEW Newsletter.  Just look for the bright pink box on the right sidebar, enter your email and name, and you'll receive a fabulous Freebie each month. WooHoo!

The Challenge Theme this time is Use a Sentiment and you can use any image at all, but of course we especially love to see what you do with the fab TEW digis. (And you get to enter TWICE, if you do!)  I've made a shaped card that resembles the "panoramic" sugar eggs I had as a child.  It was designed in Design Studio and cut with my Cricut. The sentiment was cut and embossed with my Cuttlebug Emboss Plus Fanciful Labels Folder and the sentiment was computer generated.

Just look at this adorable gal!  Her name is Aurora-Easter Egg Hunt and I'm totally in love with her! She's colored with Copics and her little bunny suit and stuffed bunny have been flocked.  I printed her several times so I could fussy cut and layer her for dimension.  The grass and fence are MS punches.

As you can see there's quite a bit of depth to the card.  Don'tcha just love her little bunny tail?  I've also added a boatload of flat backed pearls to finish it off.

AND, I enjoyed making this card so much, I've even finished the inside (GO ME!)  The basket is a Spellbinders die exclusive to Heartfelt Creations with some Prima flower embellies.  Now hop on over to The East Wind Challenge Blog and check out the amazing creations by the rest of the team.  Then come join our challenge.  There ar FREE DIGIS to WIN!  We sure hope to see you there!

P.S. There's loads of fun stuff going on on the TEW FB Group too.

I'm entering in the following Challenges:

Lacy Sunshine Anything Goes

This is my second post of the day, so please scroll down for my Dilly Beans DT card for the new Challenge.

Here's a little tag I did for the current challenge at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog.  Although I started it using the freebie I got from the Loyalty Plan (use any LS image for one challenge, get the next Challenge image as a freebie)  from the last challenge but didn't quite get it done, it totally works for Anything Goes this time.  I've made a Spring tag using my Cricut for the garden gate.  It was designed in DS using the Picturesque cartridge with the "Spring" header from Stretch Your Imagination.  The pieces were then embossed with the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder.

The adorable image is Gemma's Spring Gumdrops.  Could she possibly be any cuter?  I've printed her several times in several sizes so I could fussy cut her flower, colored her with Copics and fussy cut and popped her in front of the fence.  The flower on her head is popped as well and there are two more growing beside her on the other side of the gate.

As you can see, the tag is quite dimensional.  The DP behind is from an old DCWV sack and I've added a little punched butterfly and Prima flowers to the top of the gate.

I'm also adding this to the 4 Crafty Chicks Spring Challenge, C.R.A.F.T Challenge What Season Where You Are, Art Impressions "Getting Girly", Outlawz Twisted Thursday Add a Butterfly, Creative Knockouts Texturize it, Cute Card Thursday Floral Delights, Southern Girls Floral Frenzy, Stampavie and More Girly, TTRCD ATG Mar 25th -31, Tuesday Throwdown Digi Dimension, All-Crafts Challenge Anything but a Card, Artistic Inspirations ATG, Created with Love Girly Challenge, 613 Ave Create ATG, Whoopsie Daisy Welcome Spring, Catered Crop Spring Fever, Craft a Scene Let it be Spring, Eclectic Ellapu Flowers and Butterfies, and Robin's Fetish Anything but a Card.

Halloweenie 5 for Simply Steampunk

This little guy just melts my heart.  He's Halloweenie 5 from the Classic Collection Steampunks, my second showcase piece for Simply Steampunk.  The buggy Dp is from an MS 8x8 stack and I've used Glossy Accents on the giant beetle.  The web frame is also MS from a Punch Around the Page set and if you look closely, there's a bejeweled spider climbing up the flourish (read piece of scrap left on my messy table from????)  WooHoo, I recycled!  It was actually the sentiment (done with my Dymo) that made me go in this direction.  Didn't want anything too sissy and what little boy doesn't love bugs?

He's colored with Copics and I've fussy cut the frame and popped it for dimension.  His sweet, shy expression is what really gets to me.  Wouldn't he make a fab Father's Day or birthday card for your fave little man?  Or perhaps an "I'm sorry" or "Missing you" card?  In any case, he's hard to resist.  Please visit Simply Steampunk for more inspiration throughout the month and don't forget our Frame It Challenge runs through June 6th.  I'm entering this in the Left of Center Challenge (LOC theme), Shopping Our Stash Tool Shed Challenge (MS punch around the page set), the Artistic Inspirations Cards for Men Challenge, and That Craft Place Makes for Men Challenge.

If You've Got it, Flaunt it!

Today I'm showcasing two more of the fabulous digi images from the Original Steampunk Collection from Simply Betty Stamps.  Flirtatious Gwendolyn is still turning heads, and it's obvious Mercius has noticed.  I've colored them in softer hues with my Copics to match the pretty springtime vintage DP from Memory Box and Authentique.  I thought it would make a lovely birthday card.  The sentiment is framed with a Hodgepodge Hardware from from Stampin'Up.

Don't they make the cutest couple?  I can see them for Valentine's Day, an Anniversary, or even an Engagement, and separately for a host of occasions as well.  If you love vintage, you'll love the Steampunks.  There are always ideas on the Simply Steampunk Blog and don't forget our Bits of Lace challenge that closes at 6:00pm PDT on may 2nd.  Hope to see you soon.

I'm also entering this in the Whimsical Designs Smell the Flowers Challenge, the Artistic Inspirations Card for a Lady challenge, the Great Impressions April Pastel Colors and/or Polka Dots Challenge, One Stitch at a Time Use a Digi, the 2 Sisters Color Challenge Blue and/or Green, and the Stampin' Dragon Steampunk Challenge.

The Altered Alice For the Love of Wonderland

"So she sat on, with closed eyes, and half believed herself in Wonderland, though she knew she had but to open them again, and all would change to dull reality--the grass would be only rustling in the wind, and the pool rippling to the waving of the reeds--the rattling teacups would change to tinkling sheep- bells, and the Queen's shrill cries to the voice of the shepherd boy--and the sneeze of the baby, the shriek of the Gryphon, and all thy other queer noises, would change (she knew) to the confused clamour of the busy farm-yard--while the lowing of the cattle in the distance would take the place of the Mock Turtle's heavy sobs." -- Chapter 12, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Changes are coming for The Altered Alice. Due to pressures of work and other pesky distractions, next month will be our last regularly scheduled challenge. So this month we are sponsor-free and the design team members are sharing any projects they like that show their love of Alice.  Since our winner of last month's challenge has just been named (our Mad Hatter's watch seems to be running a bit more than 2 days slow) I made another project from our fabulous March Sponsor, The Octopode Factory.

I've made "Flip Book" with some of the most beloved characters from Wonderland. Sit back with a cuppa 'cause I've got LOADS of pix. On the cover, I have the Caterpillar who asks "Who are you? First you see each character in his/her entirety. On the opposite page there's a quote. Of course I started with Alice.

Next, the Mad Hatter.

And finally, The Chesire Cat

Each page of the book was cut in threes so the head, torsos and legs can be flipped to create fun new characters in countless ways.  The quotes then become more nonsensical as well.  See if you can tell who's who now.

Have to say, this one's my fave.  Dig the sentiment.  HeeHee!

How do you like Chessie's new hairdo?

I could go on and on.  This was so fun to make and play with.  Please visit The Altered Alice and check out the winner of the $30 Gift Certificate to The Octopode Factory and check back for the inspiration (and Linky) for our April Challenge.

We invite you to do the same and show us your love of Wonderland this month. You may enter older projects for this challenge only. Enter by April 27 to share the best of your Wonderland creations with our community.

We will of course have honorable mentions and a challenge winner, but you will be playing for the glory this month as we do not have a sponsor. We will try to organize some kind of prize although no promises! Would anyone like to donate a prize?

Next month, we will be sponsored by Stampotique, who took a chance on us and sponsored our very first challenge. I like the symmetry, alpha and omega, closing the circle.

We may have challenges in the future, but they will be more spontaneously scheduled, and in the meantime we will share "Alice sightings" and miscellaneous Alice projects with you, so stay tuned!

I'm also entering this in the DLArt April Linky Party , The Squirrel and the Fox Inspired by a Song or Movie Challenge and the Artistic Inspirations Anything but a Card Challenge.

Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge

I've joined The Outlawz online group and have been having fun participating in their challenges.  There's a new one for every day of the week.  Woohoo!  The Sunday challenge is always CAS but this week it's You Have Us in Stitches, a real struggle for me on both counts. I decided to take the plunge anyway, because that's what challenges are for, aren't they?

I cut the honeycomb mat with my Cricut and used an adorable Jellypark image, Cute Bee Girl and flipped her in my Printmaster Program.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I hand drew a little bee and punched holes in the mat for the his flight and connected them with a Micron pen for the (faux) stitching.  then I popped the mat and called it done.  I have to say I kinda love it.

I'm also entering this in Penny's Paper-Crafty Stitching Challenge, the Nutcrafters Something Beginning with "B" Challenge, and the Artistic Inspirations Things with Wings ChallengeMoving Along With The Times Birds and Bees, and the Paper Players "In Stitches" Challenge.
