"H" is for Home for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers
I'm thrilled to have been crowned "Queen of Snark" at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers which means I have the honor of Guest designing for their new Challenge with the theme "H" is for Home.
Although you only have to follow the theme and not necessarily make your project "snarky", That's the fun of it, isn't it? I found this theme to be a little tricky but finally came up with a plan. It's an easel card with the home all decked for the holidays. Die cuts are from Spellbinders and embossing folder from Tim Holtz.
In case you can't quite figure it out, here's the closeup of the pertinent parts. Don'tcha just love it when guests show up empty handed? Me neither!
Be sure to visit the SOSS Challenge Blog and check out the fab inspiration by the team. And COME PLAY ALONG! You KNOW you wanna!
I'm linking this up to the DL.Art November Linky Challenge, Jo's Scrap Shack FFC #260 AG, the Outlawz Festive Fridays Christmas theme.

"S" is for Skulls
Feliz Dia de los Muertos! In honor of the Day I've got a last minute quickie card for the SOSS #121 challenge "S" is for Skulls. The fun image is #1865 Old Bones Turned by Sandra Caldwell. I colored quickly with Copics, added a computer generated sentiment, some striped washi and little dancing skellie stickers from Recollections.
And inside (unfortunately fitting).
I'm also adding this to the Outlawz Festive Fridays Funny Birthday theme, the DL.Art November Linky Challenge, Simon Says Wednesday AG, and Jo's Scrap Shack #258 AG,

K is for Kids-Guest Designing for the Sisterhood
Hot off my win and shiny crown for D is for Drunk, I'm thrilled to be Guest designing for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #88 K is for Kids. Gotta say I laughed out loud when I saw the theme, since pretty much all my thoughts about kids are basically snarky, which is why I don't have any. Lucky me? Lucky them? I'd say we all came out ahead.
So how could I resist again composing a scene with Bloobel stamps? They're so quirky and fun they're always my "go to" for humor and snark.
So here's a closeup of the happy family, all colored with Copics. We have calm mama Zen, big brother Hugh Nose, little sister Bunny Ears (although to me she looks like she's saying "Na na, na na, na, na", the little brat) and finally Cry Baby. I couldn't resist pulling out another "thought bubble" for Mom's real feelings using a cropped version of Zodiac Leo. I'm not quite sure what Zen mama is on, but in case you can't read it, the sentiment says "I may look calm, but I've already killed them in my mind 1000 times today." Pretty sure I couldn't exhibit the same amount of self control. Be sure to visit the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for more fabulous snark and come play along. Childrens' lives just may hang in the balance.

Bottoms UP! (for the Sisterhood)
As soon as I saw the current challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers I just knew I had to play along. I did not, however think it would take me until today, with a little less than 6 hours to go (and it's a 2 week challenge) to get this done. But I finally DID! Yay, ME! So here ya go for D is for DRUNK.
I hate to say this is semi autobiographical, but my BFF from college and I sure used to attract the LOSERS when we hit the bars for "girl's night out". We'd even make bets on which gross dude would ask us to dance first. Edna would not be amused. Not necessarily THIS Edna, my MOM Edna. (But she didn't know shit since I was hundreds of miles away, so there ya go.)
Anyway, my little dive bar scene is comprised of stamps from Bloobel. What a RIOT, eh? We've got Barney Beer, One Glass of Wine (One? Nah, this is a job for a bottle or two at least) and a cropped version of All Shades of Green (flipped because even though she's a thought bubble, actually looking at the dude might cause her to...) Okay then, I'm done.
I'm also adding this to the DL.Art June Linky Challenge, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #60 AG and Simon Says Wednesday Use Pattered Paper.
WooHoo! It's GOOD to be QUEEN!

Kiss This!
I've been playing on Sandra Caldwell's Stamp Fans FB page and this was a Freebie last week in celebration of 300 digis drawn and given to those who participated or purchased that week. I love the image because it reminds me of my Daddy who was bald as long as I can remember (yeah, even when I was a baby). It kind of makes me teary eyed as I sure would love to still be able to give him a kiss on the top of his head. Anyway, I thought he'd be perfect for the current Wicked Wednesday ATC "Head Shots" challenge and also for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "K" is for Kiss Challenge. WooHoo!
Looks like Edna already laid one on him. LOL (Even funnier since my Mom's name was Edna.)
"Daddy" was colored with Copics and I've added some fun little brads. The sentiment is computer generated and Looky here! It's actually an EASEL ATC. (Made just like it's big brother, the easel card, only smaller...duh!) I once gave my Daddy a card with this saying and it came back to me when I saw this image. Hope you like. I'm keeping this one close to me for inspiration. Besides being a mechanical engineer, Daddy was a gifted artist. Kisses to you Daddy, I miss you so much!
I'm also adding this to the Outlawz Twisted Thursday ATG/w optional Add a Sentiment and the DL.Art February Linky Challenge.

ASITD Sponsored by Dilly Beans
It's time for a new challenge at A Step in the Dark and this fortnight we're sponsored by Dilly Beans. some of my fave images are Megan's Sugar Skulls, and with Dia de los Muertos fast approaching, I thought I'd use #384 Sugar Skull with Flowers because his big ol' pompadour totally cracks me up. As you know, it's the custom to make an ofrenda (altar) for deceased loved ones, but did you know that many people makes altars for their favorite (dead) stars, as well? Although not exactly an altar, I decided to channel Elvis (tell me he doesn't remind you of him!) and make a tag to honor The King. I've colored the stamp with Copics (after digitally removing his moustache ), Added a die cut crown, used pix from the web (including the records) and layered it all up on a black tag. Added some cool glittered musical notes and strung Alpha Beads on the ribbon hanger.
I had the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers I is for Iconic in mind when I made this so of course, I'm entering it there, as well as Left of Center 3 or more layers, and PunkYouGirl ATG with a Halloween Twist.

Mirror, Mirror
Did you know that Mondays and Fridays are new release days for The East Wind? Join the FB Group to find out all the scoop and share your fabulous TEW projects. Here's my card with the fabulous 'Lucy Loo' Mirror Mirror. Isn't she fabulous!? She's colored with Copics in shades of purple to enter the A Step in the Dark Add Some Purple Challenge (or ATG as long as it's "Dark") and I was thrilled to find that purple DP from Recollections in my stash.
Here's a close up. I've fussy cut her and attached her to a piece of mirror card stock that I've embossed several times with Utee, put in the freezer and cracked. Kind of an errie effect, eh? the one thing I'd do differently is cut your card staock the size you want BEFORE you do your heat embossing, because if you need to cut it to size after, some of the cracked pieces may come off. No prob here since it's it's supposed to look old and shattered. The sentiment was computer generated and popped a top a lovely ribbon so I could enter the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "R" is for Ribbon challenge and make it "Girly" enough for Left of Center.
Just had to add the graphic from SOSS, they are always such a HOOT!
I'm also enterting this in the ABC Challenge "M" is for Monochromatic. And speaking of challenges, The East Wind's new Blog challenge is Embossing Wet or Dry and the FB Contest is Something Out of the Norm. Why not stop by and play along?

A Whole Lotta Rosie for Macabre Monday
It's Week 2 for our Whole Lotta Rosie Challenge at Haunted Design House. What's that, you say? We either want to see roses on your deliciously dark project, or a fat chick named Rosie, (or AC/DC, but you've gotta visit the Blog for that explanation). Easy peasy, eh? My hubby frequently gives me a ration of S*** for all the stuff I save, but this time I hit the mother load with this fabulous bag. Roses? I've got ROSES! (in the shape of a heart, no less) The fabulous stamps were generously offered by Lisa Tyrell in celebration of the Left of Center One Year Anniversary.
Here's a closeup of the gorgeous skull, complete with a giant rose, no less! I didn't really have to do much coloring, just the rose, since Lisa's shading is so fab, but I did print it 4 times and fussy cut to give her dimension and added some Stickles to the rose and some gems.
And the skellie goblet. OOOHhh!!!! It's printed three times on white and once on matte metallic, fussy cut, popped and encrusted with jewels. WooHoo!
Here's the dimensional shot. And tell me that bag wasn't begging to be altered!
And of course, my sentiments, exactly. I'm entering this in Left of Center Challenge under the LOC theme, the very FIRST ATG/Skulls challenge at A Step in the Dark, That Craft Place Alter a Can / Alter It challenge, AND (I'm truly going to hell for this) the "Y" is for Your Mama Challenge at Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (which of course, just BEGS for an explanation) Hope it's ok it's not a card.
It's no secret that I LOVE my wine. My mother, however, was not so thrilled about how MUCH I love my wine and affectionately (?) referred to me as "her little Wino". Personally, I thought she needed to chill, so were she still with us, this would have been her Mother's Day gift bag. (and since she's not, I think the skull is appropriate.) xxx

The East Wind Challenge 5 Humor
WooHoo, it's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge at The East Wind Challenge Blog. Come on and make us laugh. Our new challenge is...
I've made a center step card and used the fabulous 'Lucy Loo' Chilling at Home. I sat her on my new Sizzix chair die and embossing folder combo which I've cut out of Core'dinations CS and sanded. The sentiments are computer generated and cut with my new Spellbinders Labels 28.
Lucy is colored with Copics and I've added a crown brad to her head to match all the other royal references because I had the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "Q" is for Queen Challenge in mind when I made it. (Perhaps not exactly "snarky" but I think those gals might find it amusing.) If you want to start your day with a giggle, I suggest you go check out the fun and fabulous cards by my DT Sisters HERE and I hope you come join us.
I'm also addng this to My Sheri Crafts A Moment of Laughter Challenge and Open Minded Crafting Easter or Pastel Colors.
