One More for Happy Horrors

Cutting it close again, but here's another entry into the Oddball Art Happy Horrors Challenge using image #424 Cat Lady.  She's colored with Copics, fussy cut and hiding in a dimensional graveyard sticker from JoLee's.  Puffy sentiment sticker is from Momenta and ancient papers from my stash.

I'm also adding this to the Simon Says Wednesday Halloween/Spooky challenge and the Outlawz Festive Fridays AG.

Happy Horrors Meets Wednesday Sketch

I'm trying to sneak in a few challenges before October ends and I'm doing double duty here with an adorable newsletter Freebie from Oddball Art Stamps for their October Happy Horrors Challenge and the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch challenge, both of which end today.  I've colored the cute kitty in the pumpkin with Copics and added a black doily and die cut web.  Ribbon is from Mike's, Flower from Prima and little spider from Fabulous Findings.

Here's the Sketch.

Naughty Gnomes

Today is our 43rd (YIKES!) Wedding Anniversary and I was a bit stumped for a card for hubby.  Thought I'd do something cutsie and funny in conjunction with the Oddball Art Stamps September "Naughty Gnomes" theme and this is what I came up with using img #463 Ol' Gnome Love.  (Fitting, eh?)  I used  the Heart Puzzle die by Elizabeth's Craft for the first time and assembled it in pieces so I could separate it and put the Gnomes in the center.  They're colored with Copics and attached to the center puzzle pieces and popped. Nice fit!  (Any symbolism was purely unintentional, LOL)  The sentiment on the front was computer generated.

Inside I used the sentiment that came with Ol' Gnome Love, although I changed the "we" to "I" and added some epoxy hearts and xoxox's.  Papers are from the old DCWV Madly in Love Stack.  He got a kick out of it.

Innocent Dolls

Okay, so I'm sort of obsessed with the (optional) Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls theme over at the Oddball Art Challenge Blog.  What can I say?  I guess it's partly because I recently got a couple of new BJD's and am having way to much  fun dressing them up in new clothes and partly because I love the creepy cute style of Oddball Art Stamps.  I've used img #282 Sweet Spooky Sophia and colored her with Copics.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I had a couple of things laying on my desk that happened on land on the card, like the Memory Box die cut spider web and scrap of paper I'd played with eons ago using the shaving cream technique.  The arrow paper clips from my stash fit the theme, so....

This is the last day for the challenge and my 3rd (and final) entry.  Too bad we might not get to the 15 entries required for the team to pick a Top 3 for prizes as well as a winner, but I still had a ball with the theme.  Just in case you're reading this and happen to have an Anything Goes project (from any stamp company) why not go check it out and enter HERE.  BTW, you can get freebies every Friday by signing up for the Creepy Cute Chronicles newsletter HERE.  (It's the lavender arrow top right corner that says "SIGN UP".

Another Lost Soul

Well, I told you I had a few ideas for the Oddball Art Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls Challenge so here's another.  This time I used the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch for inspiration but surprised myself by really tweaking my interpretation.

Here's the sketch.  I used the sign from Oddball img# 378 Haunted Mermaid and "erased" the "directions" and added my own.  Sentiment is computer generated too.  The "Innocent Doll" is Spooky Big Eye Art img #318.  I've colored with Copics and added Skully dimensional buttons from Recollections.  DP is BoBunny.

Lost Souls Meets Outlawz Tuesday Color

The weekend coloring plans did not quite work out, but I managed to kill two birds with one stone today.  I have all sorts of ideas for the Oddball Art Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls Challenge and hopefully I can get them all in.  Here's the first using colors from the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge (due TODAY!)

YIKES!  I'm thinkin' this isn't quite what they had in mind from the inspiration pic, but hey, it works for me.  Definitely got the colors in and even added some butterflies and a funky flower and leaves.  Yay, me!

That cute little Zombie gal is Oddball img #46 Lara the Lurker and Teddy.  I've had her 4EVER and love her to bits!  She's colored with Copicss and I used some mini bubble wrap inked with Distress for some background interest.  Grass and butterflies, attached with mini staples, are Martha Stewart punches.

Oddball Dots and Doodles

Here's what I came up with for the Oddball Art Stamps Dots and Doodles Challenge.  I really love the set of Jar Full of Dreams Stamps and decided to fill one of them with #283 Pugsy Bugsy.  Chay is here to help from the 10th edition of the Creepy Cute Chronicals.  Fabulous freebies every Friday.  Subscribe on the Oddball Art Stamps Forum.  I've colored those cuties with Copics and added Stardust Stickles to their wings and a digital sentiment to the tag on the jar.

I removed the inside of the jar in my Printmaster Platinum program so it would look clear and show the digi papers I used in the background.  The background  is from the WeAre3 Burlap Beach collection and the dots (are also digi paper I've cropped to circles and resized over and over in my program).  I doodled around them with a Memento black dual marker and added a little gel pen, too.  The "table" was cropped from the Textures set with a little shading from Copics.

Oddballs Mermaids from Outer Space

I wish I'd paid attention to the June Blog Challenge at Oddball Art sooner because the fun theme of Mermaids from Outer Space really intrigued me and If I could have lit a fire under my butt, I might have been able to do multiple entries.  I even bought additional mermaid images, but as usual, my inability to make decisions got the better of me.  Here I've used Molly the Mischievous Mermaid available HERE in the new Oddball Art Co. Shop.  Check out the new Oddball Art Co. Community Forum, too.  I've colored with Copics and used Nebula Digi Paper behind her.  Added a mirror planet over the Saturn and sentiment I got from the Oddball Newsletter, Some gem stars and Nuvo Drops over the "bubbles". Better get this posted.  I'm running late.

Let's Cuddle

What's with the snow?  Well, I won some adorable stamps from Oddball Art on Holley Barnhart's Blog celebrating her 8 seizure free years after multiple brain surgeries.  I chose to use img #423 Yeti Love to work with first because of several challenges on the Outlawz Forum, not to mention the March Itsy, Bitsy,Teenie, Weenie challenge on the Oddbal Art Challenge Blog.  They do look pretty "teenie, weenie" in that blizzard, don'tcha think?  My cool new embossing folder is from Apple Blossom from the Craft Stash in the UK.

On the Outlawz the Saturday Paper ala Mode challenge is Cute and Cuddly so I merged the two cuties together so they could cuddle and the Outlawz Twisted Thursday calls for Seasons.  Hard to imagine that some of you guys out there are still shoveling snow.  YIKES!!  They're colored with Copics and fussy cut to add to the scene.  The sentiment is computer generated.

I'm also adding this to the DL.Art March Linky Challenge,  Jo's Scrap Shack FFC #226 AG, Winter Wonderland Outdoor fun, Craft Rocket Something New (New stamp and embossing folder I just got YESTERDAY!)  WooHoo!, and A Snowflakes Promise #49 AG (using Sponsor image.

Some Bunny Loves U

Here's another challenge I've been meaning to enter more often.  I adore Lizzy's quirky images at Oddball Art and I've used Betty Biter and Lindy Lamebrain for the Oddball Art All You Need is Love Challenge.  They're both colored with Copics, in some of my fave zombie colors, and when I decided to use a mixed media background, I outlined my quirky fussy cutting with black.  I'll be the first to admit I have trouble with "artsy" backgrounds.  I totally admire those who can stamp and stencil and doodle and splatter and it turns out all layered and fab.  I buy everything I think looks cool to try and then get frustrated when mine turn out like THIS!

THIS is my first attempt using Brushos.  YUK!  I did a few more and promptly put them in a box, possibly never to be experimented with again.  However, today I found the box, and my first feeble attempts, and lo and behold the BACK of this crap piece ended up being the base of my card.  I guess I must have sopped up the leftovers from my craft sheet.  WooHoo!  (Does that count as technique?  Wouldn't want to piss Edna off.)  Then, I actually used a rubber stamp, Dinky Splattered Heart by IndigoBlu, in the background, some letter stickers, and an ancient alpha die set by Cuttlebug for the sentiment and a scrap of DP to ground the images.  I kinda like it.  Maybe I'll mess around with this stuff again.

Lacy Sunshine Add Flowers

I'm cutting it so close to the end of the Lacy Sunshine Add Flowers Challenge that I'm gonna have to come back and fill in the gaps.  Phew!  Just made it with 3 minutes to spare.  I was thrilled to find out that as a member of the Creative Artist Team for Lacy Sunshine, posting once a month on the Lacy Sunshine Blog(where you find out what's New and Now in the Lacy Sunshine world), I'm still eligible to enter the challenges on the Challenge Blog and contests on the FB Group because I love playing there.  This card is doing double duty.  The current FB Contest is to use any of the Bubbles stamps so I'm entering this there, as well.  My plan was to make this look like a fluffy white towel on a towel bar using some cool textured paper from Sizzix.  I hand cut the towel shape and used my Spellbinders to cut the hole for Bubbles to peek through.  the sentiment was hand stamped with individual letters from an ancient set which took me FOREVER to get straight.  Why I didn't use my computer to generate it, I'll never know.  Guess I thought "practice makes perfect" but sheesh!

The adorable image is Bubbles Bath available in the Sticky Wings Section of the Shop.  She's colored with Copics and I've added some fun holographic bubbles and Stickles to the suds.  The additional daffodils are rubber stamps from Heartfelt Creations, cut with the corresponding dies by Spellbinders.

The center step design worked well for my plan and here you can see a bit of the dimension as several portions of Bubbles' daffodil bathtub and towel were fussy cut and popped on the image.  I tried to curl the "towel" to look like it was hanging on the (coffee stir stick) towel bar as well.  The whole thing actually turned out better than I expected.  Woohoo!

Aurora Wings First Blog challenge EVER!

WooHoo!  Today is the day we've all been waiting for.  It's the inaugural challenge on The Aurora Wings Challenge Blog and we're so excited to announce that the theme is  ANYTHING GOES!

Hope you joined the party on the Facebook Page as well, which will continue for 3 hours.  There are prizes to be had. WooHoo! Just ask to join if you haven't already.  And for our Blog Followers, Mitzi has provided a Freebie image and coupon code.  Just check out the Offers Tab on the Challenge Blog.

I've chosen images of my favorite flower, the hydrangea for my very first project, a wall hanging, cut on my Grand Caliber using Grand Labels Four and some fancy corners from Heartfelt Creations.

The main image is the beautiful Hydrangea Fairy.  Isn't she just gorgeous?  She's colored with Copics with some of the petals fussy cut and popped for dimension.  The lace caps were detailed with Liquid Pearls as well as flat backed adhesive ones.

But I couldn't resist adding the adorable Whimsical Hydrangea Sprite.  Don't they look cute together?  He's also colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped with sparkly Stickled wings.

So here's the dimensional shot.  Head on you couldn't really see the layers.  Have to say I LOVE how it came out.  I'm sure you're all excited to see the rest of the fabulous inspiration from my DT Sisters as well as the winner of the Coloring Book Giveaway so hop on over to the Challenge Blog and see.  Can't wait to see what you come up with as well.  The prizes are spectacular and the challenge runs through April 26th.

Oh, and BTW, Mitzi does some fabulously dark images as well,  Please scroll down to see my DT project for Haunted Design House this week.  EEEK!!!  Busy Monday!
