Monochromatic at Simply Steampunk
Our new Monochomatic Challenge begins TODAY at Simply Steampunk. The team is showcasing the second set of Steampunk Zodiacs and I have the pleasure of working with Gemini. This fun girly image screamed PINK to me and so it is. The color scheme seemed fitting as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so I'm thinking this may be the very first Steampunk Breast Cancer Awareness wall hanging in the world. (Didn't have an appropriate dowel to hang this from so it's lying flat at the moment.)
I've colored the twins with Copics using mainly R81-89. They were printed right on the Printed DP from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Stack and cut with Nesties Labels Twenty Five.
The dress form was cut from white card stock on my Cricut from the French Manor Cartridge and colored with Copics as well. The wings are from the Cuttlebug Vintage Collage Emboss Plus folder and the (PINK!) gears with a Tim Holtx for Sizzix Die from textured metallic card stock. The Pink Awareness Ribbon and heart are from JoAnn's.
It was fun trying to incorporate girly Steampunk details. The final one, another gear topped with a flower and "hope" done in wire with beads (also from JoAnn's a bazillion years ago). My teamies have done a wonderful job with the Monochromatic theme (ours was harder than most since were were told that skin and hair must also be monochromatic) so be sure to stop by Simply Steampunk and be inspired.
I'm also entering this in the Link Up for Pink 3rd Annual BCA Linky Party, As You Like It Favorite Not a Card Project and Why(Wall hangings because they give you more room to play and it's fun changeable decor), DLArt Thankful Thursday BCA Linky Party, Crafty Creations Winged Things, The Paper Shelter Shabby Chic, Whimsy Stamps Shabby Chic/Vintage, Inky Chicks 2 Different Die Cuts, and Shopping Our Stash Pink or BCA.

Dilly Beans Washi Tape Challenge
Happy Friday! It's a new Challenge day at Dilly Beans and and we're asking for Washi tape. I have to admit, although I've had these rolls for over a year, I haven't used much of the stuff so this is sort of a new one for me. But now that I've taken the plunge, I think it could be pretty addictive. I've paper pieced the hair and dress of the adorable #538 Poppy Circle Frame and colored the rest with Copics (right over the paper piecing of her dress as well). Then I cut a square mat and layered the orange Washi first, and then the yellow in a starburst pattern and cut the window with a Nesties Circle. (It's supposed to look like a sun, in case you missed that.) I wasn't sure if my printer would print on Washi so after laying the green tape down on card stock and cutting the banner, I just added the printed sentiment on top. Both the mat and banner are popped for dimension and there ya go. My teamies had a ball with this one too, so be sure to check out the Challenge Blog and leave them some love. Now it's your turn!
Be sure and join the new Dilly Beans Facebook Group and share all of your Dilly Beans creations.
I'm also entering this in the Cute Card Thursday Hip to be Square Challenge, the Paper Shelter Sun, Moon, Stars Challenge, the Sisterhood of Crafters Devine Digi Challenge, Stamp and Doodle Spots and Stripes, Oldie but A Goodie Spots and Stripes Challenge (washi is old), the Use it Tuesday Friendship Challenge (washi from stash) and the Left Of Center No Designer Paper Challenge #14 (Don't worry, I'll be back with LOC shortly, LOL).

Simply Steampunk Release Day
It's Release Day at Simply Steampunk and the DT is showcasing the re release of the fabulous Classic Collection Steampunks. My card feature the amazing Clocks Limited Digi. I've never been one to collect a lot of male images, but I must say, ALL of the Steampunk men make me swoon! Isn't he a distinguished looking gent? Not really fair that men age so much better than us gals, is it?
I had a ball coloring him with Copics and adding a bit of Distress after fussy cutting around the fabulous frame. I've used Nesties Labels (?) as a mat. The DP's are K&Co.
It's so much fun picking out Steampunk embellies. As usual, these are Tim Holtz.
As are these. He looks like he has a lifetime of stories to tell, doesn't he? I think this would make a lovely birthday or Father's Day card for a special man in your life, don't you? Please be sure to visit Simply Steampunk to see the beautiful projects by the rest of the DT and remember there's still time to enter out current Bits of Lace Challenge. See ya there.
I'm entering this in the Left of Center (LOC) Challenge, the Paper Shelter "For the Boys" challenge, Try it on Tuesday Inventors, Inventions and/or Steampunk, and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes and Creative Craft World April/May Mini Blue/Brown Challenge.

Dilly Beans Flowers Challenge
The weather is spectacular here and of course that's bringing out all kinds of flowers. Fitting Challenge for Dilly Beans this week. I chose these fabulous funky ones #550 Doodle Flowers Framed to make a CAS card using my Printmaster Platinum program to crop and color each piece digitally and add the text at the bottom of the frame. Then I just cut it out and mounted it over the embossed front et voila! I really love how it came out and plan to do a whole set of note cards wth different colors and sentiments. My talented teamies have all sorts of fab flowers to show you so pop on by the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog and have a look. I'm sure you'll want to play along.
I'm also entering this in the Whimsical Designs Smell the Flowers Challenge, The Paper Shelter Make it Bloom Challenge, Bearly-Mine Spring Flowers, the Deep Ocean Flowers and Fantasy Challenge (these sure look like fantasy flowers to me!), the Digital Tuesday Springtime Challenge, the Cupcake Craftroom Summer Blooms Challenge, and Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Flower Power Challenge.

Dilly Beans Bright Colors
This week our challenge at Dilly Beans is to use bright colors. I decided to go CAS this time and let my Printmaster Platinum software do most of the work. The adorable image is #407 Feeling Twitchy. I resized her, lined her up and then changed her color to mimic a rainbow. In my program you just do it the same way you would change text color. Click on the image, go to format, then color, then choose. I added rainbow stripes above and below the images, embossed the card base and scored the printed panel. Love the rainbow ribbon (guess that was the whole inspiration). The sentiment is computer generated and cut with Nesties Labels Two. Be sure to visit the Challenge Blog to see what my DT sisters came up with. There are (will be) several adorable examples of the new Robots release and the Birthday sale is still going on.
I'm also entering this in the Crafting for All Seasons Bright Colors Challenge, The House That Stamps Built Cards with Scoring Challenge, and The Paper Shelter Clean and Simple Challenge.

Bah! Humbug! Rudolph/Reindeer Challenge
This week at Bah!Humbug! it's all about reindeer, Rudolph or otherwise. I was poking around in my printed but not colored digi images and a came across Deer Mae from SOG. Oh, I just ADORE her and she was printed on kraft so I decided to give her a go. She's colored with Copics with some white pencil accents. After that, the card practically made itself. The mat was cut from the DCWV Homespun Christmas stack with the lovely space for the computer generated sentiment right there. WooHoo! (It was about all I could handle 'cause I'm having a rough week.) I added a few tiny buttons that I threaded with jute (the hardest part of the whole card. LOL) punched a few corners out of kraft and colored them with Copics to match Mae and added a few small adhesive beads. Done! I'm also entering it in the Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Clean and Simple challenge, The Paper Shelter For the Girls challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.
