Bah! Humbug! Challenge 25 - Less is More

This week the challenge at Bah! Humbug! is Less is More. HMMM... not my usual style as my personal motto is closer to "More is NEVER enough!" LOL However, I came across this adorable Pure Innocence digi image by Heather Ellis and thought it would be perfect for the challenge. Pretty darn precious, huh? It's colored with Copics and mounted on an A2 card (which I almost never make). Then I cut a circle in a white mat with my Nesties and embossed it with the limited edition Snowflakes Cuttlebug folder from Custom Crops and popped it for a bit of dimension. The sentiment is computer generated and THAT'S IT!!!!! How about that, no beads, gems, ribbon, bling, bells, whistles...AMAZING! (but I LOVE how it came out!) The year is half over guys, so head on over to Bah! Humbug! if you need a little inspiration to get your Christmas rear in gear. The ladies are just FAB!

BBTB2 Readers Choice-Going Places Cat or Dog

Well I sure am slow. I didn't even get this made 'til yesterday and I swear I'm still recovering from the big weekend. Couldn't let the BBTB2 challenge go by even if it is LATE! This week we're using the cat or dog from Going Places. (No big surprise I chose the cat, LOL.) The card is really simple because the images seemed to demand that. This is my family. The man and woman are also from Going Places and I welded the shadows of them and the 2 kitties (one's flipped) in DS. I made the mat with my Nesties and embossed it with the tiny hearts folder from the Cuttlebug Love Language card making Combo. DH and I are embossed with Swiss Dots and Goliath and Jezebel are embossed with the butterfly folder from the cut and emboss duo. The mat, couple and cats are popped, and all I added was a metal heart, and called it done. I actually had another idea as well but couldn't decide on papers (I'm afraid it may be that kind of week LOL). Didn't even take more than one pic because the top of my washer/dryer is filled with stacks of dishes that demand hand washing and I'm just not up to it yet. (Hoping DH might get the hint.) Tiddly Inks Challenge #11, Red, White and Blue

Well I have to say it's been a tough day recovering from yesterday's festivities. LOL I really wanted to craft but I could hardly make any decisions and my eyes for some reason have been burning all day. I did manage to sneak in a Tiddly Inks Challenge using the adorable Going Swimming. She's colored with Copics and cut with Nesties. I tried to make her look like she has a bit of a sunburn. Her goggles have clear epoxy stickers to make them shine. I did sort of a modified tent topped card with the Nesties Pinking Circles behind the image.

The image is popped and the sentiment is spelled out in Alpha Beads. The DP is DCWV from a Summer Glitter Stack from a year or two ago. And I finally got a chance to use that pretty grosgrain ribbon. Better be quick and post so I don't miss this one.

The Cuttlebug Spot 2x2 Challenge

Where's my BBTB2 card? Well, I haven't done it yet due to all of the party preparations but perhaps will have one tomorrow. In the meantime, I DID complete my Cuttlebug Spot card which this week is to use 2x2 folders or dies. I have LOADS of them yet I rarely think to use them so I enjoyed this challenge immensely. My card is very simple using the 4 folders from the Cuttlebug Formal Squares set. I cut them with my Nesties and backed them with Nestie Scalloped Squares. They are arranged on a mat embossed with Swiss Dots and the sentiment is from a Sizzix wedding set cut with my Nesties Petite Regular and Scalloped Ovals and popped. Went together really quick but I thought this would make a great wedding or anniversary card. Now go and take a look at the fab cards created by my DT sisters and why not have a go at it yourself? Happy Fourth of July!

Well it's the big day for my party and I'm doing pretty well for a change. Still have loads to do but at least I think I may make it before the guests arrive. LOL I saved this week's Cuttlebug Spot card for today because I thought I may not have time to do much crafting this week (and I was RIGHT!) and it's an Independence Day theme. Again I apologize for not making it around to all of my fave blogs but I promise to catch up after my company leaves next week. Anyway, here's my card.

I usually try to make my Design Team cards for The Cuttlebug Spot using Cuttlebug only, not because it's a requirement, but because I think many of the followers may not have another kind of die cutting machine. That didn't exactly work out this week because when I went to make the flag just rectangular, it just plain looked BAD so I cut this pretty one with my Cricut Expression and the Stand and Salute cartridge. It's embossed with the stripes Cuttlebug folder that may be an exclusive from Oh My Crafts. (Crap, I have so many know it's hard to keep track! LOL) I used white core paper on both the flag and the stars embossed background and sanded it. After sanding I realized that white paper was just TOO WHITE against the sanded bits so I chose to do the rest in creme instead (and it then looked pretty fab with this striped paper from My Mind's Eye).

The Stars are cut with my Spellbinder's Nested Stars run through my Cuttlebug. The creme star is then embossed with the Cuttlebug Limited Edition Christmas Stars folder I got from Custom Crops (hurry, on sale NOW!). I then scored and folded the star to make it 3D. It really needed a shadow to make it stand out, so I cut another star using the same size Spellbinder's die in gold metallic which made it pop and worked because of the dimension of the top star. It was attached with rolled up glue dots at the edges underneath.

The sentiment is also cut with the Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge and embossed (carefully) with the tiny dotted butterfly folder from the Cuttlebug 3x3 duo.

The card was still a bit plain so adhesive beads to the rescue! LOL I think they REALLY jazzed up this card! Meet 80's Sookie, The Newest Lil Lolita!

It's the final preview day of the new Fashionista Lil Lolitas at Tickled Pink Stamps and you're meeting Sookie for the very first time! She's an 80's girl and she just wants to have FUN!

She's a real star so that's how I portrayed her. I colored her with Copics in the colors of the day and added some wild pink streaks to her hair. All of the stars are cut with my Spellbinders Nested stars dies out of glitter and foil cardstock. The star border is an EK Success punch and the DP is DCWV Nana's Kids. Lots of 80's bling too!

There's just a it of dimension highlighting FAB Sookie and the adhesive stars are from Darice. Now just wait 'til you see the fabulous creations from the Pink Ladies. They're all so TALENTED! Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Lolitas Preview Day 5! and BBTB2 Blog Hop Winner!

Woo Hoo, it's preview day 5 at Tickled Pink Stamps with ADORABLE 50's Lilith! I'm particularly fond of Lilith because my DH and I took a round of ballroom dance classes and the swing was definitely OUR DANCE! So here's Lilith on her 45 record (designed with Cricut design Studio) and cut with glossy black card stock. The musical notes are a Cuttlebug die cut twice, with the bottom of the notes embossed and popped. The sentiment is one of my other fave embellies, Alpha Beads, then a bit of gingham ribbon. The skully on the bow is glitter foam.

I kept Lilith monochromatic. Didn't want to upset the pink white and black color scheme. Her skirt is paper pieced. Sure wish my circle skirt had had a fabby skull instead of a poodle when we won a 50's costume contest. LOL

Tickle Pink Fashionista Lil Lolitas Preview Day 4!

Ready for a new Lil Lolita? It's preview day 4 at Tickled Pink Stamps. Meet Flower Child 60's Willow. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL? So full of peace and love! I created a mini Woodstock for Willow using a spring card fold. I added a cloud mat cut with my MS punch around the page. I designed the Peace sign in Cricut Design Studio and cut and popped it twice after embossing the top one with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

Willow is colored with Copics and her jeans are paper pieced using denim paper. The tough part was coloring and fussy cutting the individual flowers at the bottom of her bell bottoms but I think it was totally worth it.

Here is a side view of the Spring card fold. I got the instructions from Splitcoaststampers HERE but added a larger mat at the bottom which I covered with grass printed paper and a scattering of Prima flowers.

Finally the sentiment is a Blue Moon charm. Can you feel the love? Bah! Humbug! Meets Peggy Loves Vintage

WooHoo! Another Christmas card for Bah! Humbug! I know you guys are giving me a hassle about doing Christmas cards all year, but guess who'll be laughing come December. Which brings me to this week's challenge: Father Christmas, either vintage or modern. I immediately thought of the the huge assortment of vintage Santa images on my Peggy Loves Vintage Christmas CD Volume 1. The hardest part was choosing which image to use. I printed it out and cut it with my Nesties Labels 10, backed it with a foil frame. The DP and and little tag is from the K&Co Christmas Cheer collection. The gorgeous bow is silk May Arts ribbon from Stamp and Create. This card went together in a jiffy but still looks really cute and professional. That's the beauty of using Peggy's fabulous images and there are loads of them on each CD (350 on my Volume 1!) , and not just Santa. She also has downloadable Cut Outs, for those of you who want immediate gratification. In any case, if you want to make a gorgeous card in a hurry, Peggy's got the goods for ANY occasion. Tickled Pink Fashionista Lil Lolitas Preview Day 3!

It's preview day 3 at Tickled Pink and today I have the adorable 30's Lylah. I love her so much, I colored her to look like ME! (Notice the resemblance? I WISH!) Anyway, I sort of dropped the ball on the vintage theme, I'm afraid, but I think Lylah is so stylish she could be of ANY era. I also think she's be perfect for any occasion so I made a thank you card (which is something you can never have too many of, don'tcha think?).

I colored her with Copics to match the sort of vintage double sided DP from Sassafrass. The mat is cut and framed with Nesties Labels Three. The cool border is part of the paper. WooHoo! Flowers are Prima and the sentiment is from a Cuttlebug Cardmaking combo, cut twice, and offset slightly for emphasis.

Both Lylah and the mat are popped and of course I used some of my signature adhesive beads. Lil Lolitas Preview Day 2! 60's Mod Ivy!

Welcome to Lil Lolitas preview day 2. Just look at this MOD chick! Isn't she groovy? This is Ivy, the second of the Fashionista Lil Lolitas coming soon to Tickled Pink Stamps. Love her outfit, I swear I had one just like it back in the day. (And that was EXACTLY my hairdo AND color. Didn't know I was a natural blonde, did you? LOL) I tried to stay true to the period with a color blocked background and grahic black and whites.

Ivy is colored with Copics (don't look too close, I did this LATE at night) and cut with my Nesties. I couldn't help the sentiment. The boots made me do it!

Tiddly Inks Challenge 10

This is post # 3 for today (do you belive it?) so if you're looking for the Tickled Pink Stamps Lil Lolita Preview Day 1 or the BBTB2 Blog Hop, please scroll down. (Even if you aren't, you don't want to miss them because there are PRIZES to be had. )

I didn't expect to sneak this one in today but you know how I LOVE the Tiddly Inks. The challenge this week is embellishments, but not just ANY embellishments. We must use lace or buttons or BOTH. I hadn't used my Petite Q stamp yet so I printed her out and colored her face and hair with my Copics and them paper pieced the tiers of her dress in 3 different DP's. I cut her out with my Circle Nesties and popped her on a square cut with my MS Crown Punch Around the Page set. (I'm FINALLY getting the hang of those, WOOHOO!) Her crown and scepter are brads.

For the embellies, I wove ribbon through my lace and strung it diagonally through the punched square. The bow is topped with a clear button I made to match using one of the DP's from her dress.
