Goliath's Valentine to Daddy

This year Goliath decided he wanted his Valentine to Daddy to be like the kind kids used to give out in school (do they still do that?) you know, the flat kind that don't open. Well, Mommy thought that was a fine idea, BUT flat? of course not. I love the little Tiddly Inks Kitty Christy has done a number of ways and decided on Sealed With because of the envelope he was holding. I printed him BIG and colored him with Copics trying hard to make him look like Goliath (although he looks a little bit like a racoon to me but Goliath said he was okay). He's fussy cut and popped on a manila tag on top of Nestie Hearts that were cut from the DCWV Pet Mat Stack.

I replaced the envie with a real envie so Goliath could enclose a special something for Daddy. (More on that later.) The little paw print seal was fussy cut from the stamped envie. the sentiment was spelled out with epoxy letters from J's. Paw print border punch down the side (as close to lace as Goliath would let me get) is EK Success. The mouse border and rat punch are by MS.

Here's a close up of Goliath's special gift (that fits in the envie). Please notice Heather, that this rat is dead, see the x'ed out eye? Not to be confused with the LIVE one Goliath brought in through the cat door of the run on the back porch yesterday. Daddy had a heck of a time corraling that one. This, BTW, is the same cat door that David insisted on putting in the run so he could go in and out at will. Does he? Of course not. Goliath still insists on waking me up every morning at about 2:30 am by pawing at my face to let him out and cries at the back door to come in. When we're around he acts like he hasn't a clue what that door is for, or that it's beneath him to actually open a door for himself. Jezzie however, thinks it's the cat's meow!

BUT today he was caught in the act! In case you can't tell, Goliath has another surprise for Daddy. See the LONG tail hanging from his mouth?

In he comes, the little stinker! Fortunately we closed the window and blocked off the other door before he could bring this little gifty into the house.

Okay, so let's play!

OH, you're no fun. I'll leave you for Daddy. (The bad news is Daddy keeps telling him "Good Boy"). Wonder what he'll bring in tomorrow.
Be sure to check out the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog for Fabulous Friday tomorrow and there's still time to participate in the current Love is in the Air Challenge.

  1. HILARIOUS and GROSS all at the same time! How awesome that you got pictures of this all going down, for the second day in a row, no less! That cat is so freakin' cute and you did a fantastic job on adding all that fur. What a good daddy Goliath has... so encouraging and nurturing! Now be a good mommy and stuff that sucker so Goliath can play with him a little bit longer! LOL!

Gorgeous card, though!!! I think you should stick the furry dead critter inside it as a bonus! Heehee. Yes, I'm evil, and so am I.

  5. Hi Donna--I could not for the life of me remember if I had visited to comment on your wonderful fence card this week so I came back to check and found this post. Of course the card is fabulous, as your cards always are. But, can I just say, I would have had a heart attack if my cat had showed up with that little present. OMG

  6. Hilarious! Our Chubz has been raiding local bird's nests at night and bringing home his prizes! Why do they only eat the heads and play with the rest? You have to praise them for their hard work and the honor of receiving such a prized gift. I do it through clenched teeth though. I really dig that cat run. Quite ingenious.

  12. What a sweet Valentine! You did an incredible job coloring. The image looks so real, almost 3D! As for the pictures of Goliath and his "gift" well let me just say, they would have had to pry me off the ceiling if I'd seen it in real life. What awesome pictures!

  16. ROFLOL! I don't know what is funnier, Goliath's gift for Daddy or imagining Daddy chasing down said gift! I do know that the card is hilarious and loving all at the same time. I mean, the special gift in the envie just can't be beat! What a special valentine :)

  21. FAB card!!!! Such wonderful coloring and it is so interesting and FESTIVE! I have two cats but I have never seen a cat run before. I don't quite understand what I am looking at? How wonderful that Goliath thinks you are worthy of such gifts, and how great that you have a hubby to deal with said gifts, LOL! What great cats!

I know what you mean about cat wake ups. I frequently open my eyes to find Beignet's face a scant quarter inch away from mine, practically eyeball to eyeball, WAY too close to focus! It's pretty startling actually! Other times she gently strokes my eyelids with her paw because she knows they need to be MOVING before I'll give her what she wants, LOL! You know what they say - dogs have owners, cats have staff, LOL, and Beignet thinks I'm a slacker!

  22. Ohhhh Donna this is too funny!! I can totally relate to this...during spring and summer our Monty brings a new surprise to the back door every day! Sometimes 2-3 times a day! Joe does the exact same thing and praises him with attention and a "good boy Monty"! LOL! I can only imagine what we will find on our back door mat once spring hits! Its been a crazy winter and Monty is stir crazy!! :) I love seeing you get such entertainment from your babies as much as I do; they are something else. Love you Momma Donna.

A too cute card! And, the side story to go along is so typical! I think EVERY cat owner has been presented with this type of gift (sometimes HEADLESS!!!!).
