#1084 Hippo Ornie by Sandra Caldwell

Still enjoying my GDT spot for Sandra Caldwell and I'm thrilled to introduce the new #1084 Hippo Ornie.  I love all of Sandra's Hippos (and she's got a ton! Check them all out HERE) but this little lady is especially cute, don'tcha think? Her little striped dress made me think of a candy cane so I kept with a red and white theme.  I used a Spellbinders Ornament die (I've had for years and never used) to cut the window in the candy cane DP and embossed the card base with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots for some texture behind her.  The candy cane corners and sentiment stickers are from Stampendous (oh my, the price sticker on these says 2008!).  The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from DL.Art and the little candy cane is a mini tree ornament from Michaels.

Here's a closeup of Hippo Ornie before I fussy cut and popped her.  She's colored with Copics and I've added a bit of chalk rouge to her cheeks.  With all the stripes going on, I decided her nails needed to be polka dot, thanks to a white gel pen.  I just love stripes and dots together, don't you?  Every Monday Sandra releases a whole new set of digis to her Etsy Shop (babycakesdnd) and you can see a number of them all colored up by the DT on the Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans Group page.  Lots of inspiration and fun contests going on there so I hope you'll come join us.
