Bah! Humbug! Fancy Fold Challenge

This week at Bah! Humbug! we were asked to do fancy folds. I immediately thought of the Spring Card from SplitcoastStampers and was thrilled to use some of the decoupage sheet I'd received as a Spot Prize from the lovely ladies at Bah! Humbug! , as well as my new MS French Scroll punch around the page set I'd gotten on clearance at M's. It really went together quickly and I think the gold foil board and beads really dress it up.

Here's a side view and it folds up pretty flat in a 6x6 envie for mailing. Sorry for the short post. It's a hair appt. AGAIN today and then I need to shop for a party this weekend. I'm SOOO high maintenance! Will be nice to spend some $$ on something other than craft items for a change. Wish me luck!

My First MCPT

The Cricut message board is great for enabling. I see more stuff on there that I never knew I needed and my pocketbook has suffered greatly since becoming a member. I purchased a set of the Prisma colored pencils after marvelling over All of SusieB's gorgeous creations (check out her Heartprints gallery if you really want to be inspired). I didn't try them though until I joined the Aprile's MCPT challenge on the board. (For those of you unfamiliar with MCPT it stands for Magic Colored Pencil Technique and uses gamsol or mineral spirits to blend the colored pencils. Susie has a great tutorial for this technique which I watched many times before taking the plunge.) Here's my first try and I was pretty pleased with the results. I used the spring card fold again and framed the image with some scalloped circles cut from Accent Essentials. The cute flowers on the base are Favorite Findings buttons that I clipped the back loop off of.

Taylor's Birthday card

While we're on the subject of paper clips, here's some #1 clips I also found at Walmart. They were perfect to use on this birthday card I made for a sweet girl who was turning 11.(How convenient since that was the only number they came in.) I also tried a new fold that I believe was called a spring card on the SplitcoastStampers website because the diamond springs up when you take it out of the envie. I just love that Doodlecharms cupcake! Again I cuttled the frosting with divine swirls and ran the bottom through my crimper. I added a pink heart paper clip (love them too!), a stamped tag cut from Plantin Schoolbook and tied it with a gingham ribbon. I personalized it by adding her name across the base. The cheery dotted paper is from the DCWV summer glitter stack.
