A Bugaboo Get Well

One more for the Outlawz Festive Fridays, this time a Get Well theme using the hilarious Bugaboo Oh Crap set combined with the Dollar Flower Bug.  The Oh Crap set comes with some great sentiments but I generated my own to make it fit the Get Well theme.  Super CAS, colored with Copics, one layer with some scores you can't really see.  I imagine I'll be using this set a lot.

I'm adding this to the current Catch the Bug Theme Challenge Say it With Flowers, the DL.Art May Linky Challenge, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #81 AG, HLS May CAS One Layer, Simply Papercraft AG, Incy Wincy with Things that Fly and Crafting with an Attitude #39 AG.

Another for Hip Hip Hippo on Holley's Blog Celebration

Holley Tondre Barnhart is celebrating her 8th year of seizure free health with a month long event on her blog.  You can get the details HERE and read about her amazing journey to health HERE.  Talk about an uplifting story, WOW!

In honor of this anniversary, Sandra Caldwell is offering 4 stamps for only $1.50, to participate in a contest with prizes.  You can find the details for the Hip Hip Hippo celebration HERE.  Only a couple days left and I have a hair appointment tomorrow which, at my age, cuts into the crafting BIG TIME, so I managed a second card today using #1712 Doctor Hippo.  He's colored with Copics with a little help from a silver gel pen.  I was all set to use some cute pastel argyle DP when I started rifling around my stash and found this "Once Upon a Time" Collection from Heartfelt Creations I'd never used.  Thought it made a good Get Well card for a male, so I switched gears and roughed it up a bit.  Turned out kinda cute, I think.

I'm also entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays Get Well Theme, the DL.Art February Linky Challenge, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #76 AG, Your Scrapbook Place February AG, Jo's Scrap Shack FFC#221 AG,...

Sorry You're Dragon

Well, the June Fantasy Progressive challenge is over in the Bloobel Stamps FB group but I'm far from being done with the fab images.  Thought a little get well card would be cute (especially for a male) using Roaring Dragon.   He's colored with Copics and I've stretched out some copyright free clip art flames for his sneeze.  I tore and inked the corner of the page instead of actually trying to burn it and ruining all my hard work (been there, done that) and added a simple sentiment and a few pearls to balance the design.  The DP is from the old DCWV Safari stack.

I'm adding this to the DL.Art July Linky Challenge, the Outlawz Monday Greetings AG, Crafty Friends #61 Man/Boy, The Fairy and the Unicorn #5 AG w/Mythical Creatures, Creative Fingers 133 AG, Jo's Scrap Shack FFC 195 AG, CCC Creations Monochrome, Not Just Cards #45 AG and Simon Says Wednesday AG.

Under the Weather?

There's a new image at The East Wind today called Get Well Soon.  I used the no background png format and some digi paper from AMBillustrations that I cropped in my Printmaster Platinum Program and added an ombreed circular digital mat and sentiment.  After cutting it out and coloring her,  I triple matted it with card stock in shades of blue and added die cut clouds and popped them for a little dimension.  The iridescent raindrops are from my stash.

Here's the closeup.  Yikes!  This girl needs some major medicine!  I've colored her with Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I tried to give her a feverish look and hope I didn't overdo the straggly hair.  I just kinda want to hug her and make it all better, don't you?

I'm entering this in the DL.Art April Linky Challenge, the Southern Girls ATG, Inspiration Destination ATG, Wonderful Wednesday ATG, Digi Choosday ATG, TTRCD April 5-11 ATG, the Outlawz Saturday Paper a la Mode Head Shots, Brown Sugar ATG, Jo's Scrap Shack FFC ATG, and A Bit More Time to Craft ATG.

Macabre Monday Chain me up, Chain me down

This week's Macabre Monday calls for chains, bondage, you get my drift.  I always revert to my fave bondage stamps (YIKES, I can't quite believe I HAVE fave bondage stamps!) from Smeared Ink.  Used a couple of fun lovin' gals from the Femdom set and censored their naughty bits (also in the set) so as not to offend.  Embossed dungeon background courtesy of the Tim Holtz Bricked folder and fab chain punch from EK Sucess.  Done!  Check out the rest of the Minions HERE and don't forget our mid week inspiration on Wretched Wednesday.  I'm hoping this scares our little sickie to the road to Wellsville.

Macabre Monday Pass the Distressing, Please

It's another Macabre Monday at Haunted Design House and this week our challenge is Pass the Distressing, create a dark, Gothic or Halloween based project that's smeared, smudged and distressed in some way in honor of our fabulous sponsor, Smeared Ink.  Is there anything more distressing than going to the doctor?  Worse yet, for surgery?  I say "NOOOOO"!!!!! so I've used the super sadistic Dr. Doctor.  He's colored with Copics and has just removed his blood smeared glove.  His incision was less than pristine, I'd say.  Looks more ripped apart (yeah, that would be it) and his suturing...eiyiyi!  And just where DID he leave that scalpel (or should I say saw)?  This was a fun one, and the Minions had a ball with the fabulous digi's from Smeared Ink.  Be sure to check out their fab inspiration HERE and don't forget to visit again on Wretched Wednesday, when Creepy Glo and whoever else slacked off over the weekend display their creeptastic offerings.  And for all you interested in some skulduggery, June 4th is again Skull Appreciation Day.  To participate in the fabulous hop, or to just follow along, click the badge on my sidebar.  Hope to see you there.

I'm also entering this in the Dream Valley Humor Challenge, The Order of Opus Gluei Sew What challenge, and Art Impressions Anything Medical Challenge.

BBTB2 SYI Ice Cream Cone Cut and Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone! I'm winging my way to Chicago for CHA as we speak but I managed to do a couple of DT things before I left. If you've arrived from Joanna's Blog, you're on the right track. If not, you may wish to start at BBTB2 so you don't miss a thing. This week dear Krista chose the ice cream cone cut from Stretch Your Imagination. I chose the silhouette feature and decided to turn it upside down and make a clown. I actually cut the whole thing in white card stock and colored it with my Copics. I welded a bowtie shadow cut from Paper Dolls to the bottom where the cherry is and cut off the stem. I also cut another bowtie in shadow and regular, glued them together and cut it in half for ears. I drew the eyes and smile and added a pom pom nose, another tiny one on the hat, and a big ribbon bow. The sentiment is a metal adhesive one from the $ bins at M's, colored black with a permanent marker.
The circle easel card is actually done with my Nesties. I saw a cute one on Kellie's Blog with a tutorial on Debbie's Blog, my Aussie friends from Tickled Pink Stamps. Thanks guys! I added mats done with Nesties Pinking Circles and embossed the yellow ones with the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug folder. This makes a fairly tiny card, but I thought it would be cute to brighten someone's day for a birthday or even a child's get well card. A larger one could certainly be done using Design Studio. Now on to hop to my dear friend Carole's Blog (it's her birthday week so be sure to leave her some love!), but before you go, please be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a $30.00 gift certficate from Custom Crops. The winner will be announced Friday (if I don't forget since I'll still be away) so keep on checking back. And all of you attending CHA, please stop by the Custom Crops booth at the Super Show and say "hi"! I'll be doing Make and Takes there both Saturday ad Sunday and would love to meet you in person.

Macabre Monday Challenge #39

Happy Sunday! Those of you who have been visiting for awhile know what's coming. WOOHOO! It's time for another Macabre Monday challenge for Haunted Design House. This week the challenge is Devious Doctors and Fiendish Florence Nightingales. (Heck, I pretty much think ALL doctors and nurses fall into that catagory (I apologize to you if you happen to be in that profession but hey, I call 'em like I see 'em. Whadda ya mean you'll only feel a slight pinch? OWWWWWW!) My creativity sort of ran dry until I started thinking about how far medicine has come. We just saw Robin Hood and I started thinking about doctors in medieval times so I browsed the internet until I came across pictures of the lovely tools of the trade (are you kidding me!?) and this little illustration of a doctor and his patient (doing what?). Click on the pic to get up close and personal with this dude. So anyway, no stamped image, no bells and whistles.

I thought it came out kinda elegant AND to the point. Perfect for a history buff recovering from surgery, don't you think? (I'm not so sure it would have been appreciated BEFORE surgery though. LOL) I hope this doesn't freak out any of my new followers (or my old ones for that matter. Sandy, I KNOW you secretly love these. LOL). Be sure and come back tomorrow for my BBTB2 card. I REALLY like how it's turning out!

Perk Up .Cut File Available

I absolutely LOVE the new From My Kitchen cartridge. The retro feel of it makes me think of my Auntie Lee's kitchen Up in Ishpeming MI when I was a little girl. We Swede's are big time coffee drinkers so my first card had to be something about coffee. I did this for the Custom Crops Design Team so the .cut file and complete instructions are available HERE. I love the DonJuan font thanks to all of the super cards my sweet friend and super talented Cuttlebug Spot Design Team Sister Julie has done with it but I realized that cart wasn't so easy to come by so I did an alternative sentiment using Plantin Schoolbook too, as well as a little tag for those of you who would prefer a stamped sentiment. I used papers from DCWV Nana's Kitchen and Nana's Nursery Baby Boy mat stack. I thought it would be cute for a friend who wasn't feeling 100%.

BTW, my little Scarecrow Treat Box is now available at Custom Crops too. Just click HERE. And as always, reviews (good ones anyway LOL) are always appreciated.

Don't Go Nuts

When I saw this paper in the DCWV Fall Glitter stack I thought, "What the heck am I gonna do with that?", but when the opportunity arose to make a get well card (a male one at that) it came in pretty handy. I used the squirrel from Animal Kingdom, "Nuts" is welded in Design Studio using Mickey Font, and "Get Well Soon" is from Beyond Birthdays. Jasmin corners from my MB friend JennyJanus, the acorn is hand cut from the paper and the leaves are various punches.
