Almost Late to the Party at LeighSB Designs

My dear friend Leigh Snaith-Brunton is celebrating the first birthday of LeighSB Designs with a fun Birthday Card Contest and FREEBIE to enter that I almost missed due to my illness since our trip over Easter weekend.  You can read all about it HERE and still nab the freebie and enter by midnight tomorrow, April 22nd (PDT) for a chance to win prizes.  WooHoo!  You know I love me some quirky and/or dark designs and LeighSB Designs delivers those in spades, but she also offers a number of kitties, both cute and exotic as well as some lovely traditional images of beautiful ladies and sweet holiday fare. You can see lots of inspiration on the Leigh SB Designs Blog and the FB Fan Group.

This is my first entry using the FREEBIE combined with her Alfred Hitchcock  (and friend).  They're in a festive mood, sporting party hats from the 4 pack collection HERE.  I've cropped the FREEBIE in my Printmaster Program and separated the cupcake from the "ONE" and moved it forward to allow the bird to be able to blow out the candle. I've colored with Copics in my fave color combo and inked with Distress.  I really had fun with this and hope I can manage at least one other offering before the party is over.  Hurry, and you can party too.

I'm entering this in the DL.Art April Linky Challenge, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #80 AG, Creative Moments #141 AG, Crafting With Friends #65 AG, the Outlawz Monday Greetings Square Cards, Dream in Darkness April AG and 2 Crafty Critter Crazies AG/w critter.

Playing with New Goodies

Went to the Scrapbook Expo yesterday and did a little shopping.  When I unpacked, it was actually less than I thought.  WOW!  Such restraint!  You should have seen last year (much of which I've still not even opened.  LOL)

But anyway, today's crap weather kept me in and playing with some of my new goodies.  Look at all that hail!

I made this male birthday card for the Outlawz Sunday CAS and also to fit in 2 of the other Outlawz Challenges, as well.  This is my second for Twisted Thursday Metallics and I finally tried some of the Nuvo Gilding Flakes I'd not opened from last year.  The third Outlawz challenge is for the Festive Fridays Lots of Glitter theme because all of that black in between the clockworks is Basic Black Silk Microfine Glitter from Elizabeth Craft, applied through a Tim Holtz Stencil.  (Sorry I couldn't get a glittery shot with my camera.)  I applied some Perfect medium to the back of the stencil so I'd be able to remove it from the tape on the card stock and then burnished silver and gold Gilding Flakes to the pattern that was left.  Then finished it off with a sticker sentiment and black border.  Definitely different than my usual style, but I can't wait to do a bit more experimenting with this technique.

I'm also entering this is the DL.Art March Linky Challenge, the DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge #223 AG,  Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #77 AG, TTRCD Week of Feb 27 AG (using Sponsor Sparkle and Sprinkle products) and Simon Says Wednesday AG.

Wine a Bit

Gotta face it.  I'm getting to the age when birthdays are startin' to hurt. Nothing that can't be cured, however...with a glass or two or three.  Love, love, LOVE this image by Bloobel Stamps called One Glass of Wine.  (Hey, if it's gonna be just one, make it a BIG one, eh?)  She's colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped atop digi paper from the Wine Digital Papers from Bugaboo.  The sentiment was computer generated and cut with the Spellbinders Labels Eleven. Look closely and you'll see a high heel wine charm on the glass because if it's not about the wine, it's about the shoes.  LOL

Inside I've used the same cool paper from Bugaboo and a larger version of Spellbinders Labels 11 for the sentiment.  The tiny bottle and glasses are from Memory Box.  Birthdays shouldn't have to hurt.  ;)

I'm entering this in the DL.Art October Linky Challenge, Simon Says Wednesday ATG, Catch the Bug October ATG, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends ATG, Creative Crafts Cottage ATG,  Creatalicious Challenge 100 ATG/Let's Celebrate and CCC Digi Creations ATG.

Bugaboo 4th Birthday Bash

I'm celebrating along with Bugaboo Stamps at their 4th Birthday Party Bash.  It started with a BLOG HOP and there is a different challenge each day.  Loads of fun prizes and their stamps are such a hoot!  Fortunately, you have the whole week to participate and don't necessarily have to do the challenges in order, because I keep printing and coloring for Day 1 and then decide it would work better for another of the challenges.

So here is Day 2 (the dreaded, LOL) Sketch Challenge,
and my take on it.

I've used the adorable Holy Cow.  Pretty literal but I love how it came out.

And believe it or not, I actually added a sentiment inside thanks to Bugaboo's Guest Designer Dee.

And here the is Day 3 color inspiration pic.

And my take using Girlz Shop,

and since I was on a roll, I finished the inside on this one, as well.  Yea me!
I'm having such a ball with this.  Just hope I can keep it up.

Happy Birthday!

Aren't men cute?  They never really grow up, do they, but would we have it any other way?  Male birthday cards aren't my forte, but while I was perusing my (bazllion) digis from The Octopode Factory I came across Peter Pan.  Perfect, hee hee (it was the earring that got me).  I don't know if anyone remembers the tv special with Mary Martin playing Peter Pan, but she/he sings a song called "I won't grow up!", so I used that and created word circles in my Card Factory program 'cause I thought it looked cool and I could enter this in the TOFF Circles Challenge.  (Don't faint, it's my second entry, WOOHOO!)
Kept the card simple.  He likes it that way.  Just colored with Copics and fussy cut.  So loved the eyes I popped them twice.
Inside, another Octopode Factory image.  This time Pinocchio.  He kind of inspired the sentiment (changed the age because I thought it was more fitting).  Nice woody!  Hope this is good for a giggle.  I think I'll leave it at that.

This also conveniently works with the Annabelle Stamps Say it With Spots, Dots, and Anything Round.  I'm hoping I can sneak in another entry over there with an Annabelle Stamp I WON over there but I've got to finish my DT stuff first.

I'm also entering this in the Clearly Inspired Circles Challenge, the Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude anything Goes/Music challenge (inspired by the song "I Won't Grow Up"), and Penny's Paper-Crafty Masculine Challenge.
