Showcasing Sagittarius for Simply Steampunk

Today I'm showcasing the lovely Sagittarius for Simply Steampunk, one of the new Steampunk Zodiacs at SBS.  There's something about her bow and arrow that made me make a tag using Fall colors, or maybe it's just the cooler weather we've been having.  I used kraft for the tag and gorgeous K&Co Dp.  The sentiment just sort of came to me while on my morning hike and I printed it on the computer, cut the rectangle and scrunched and distressed and inked and spritzed it with water until it looked weathered enough to make the scroll.  I thought the copper skeleton leaves added to the woodsy feel.

Sagittarius is colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped.  The gorgeous clothing of the Steampunks is so much fun to color.  I've added some fab fibers and some Tim Holtz metal flowers and foliage to the Primas in honor of our current Metal Challenge.  It runs through Sept 5th so I hope to see you there.

I'm also entering this in the Crafting by Designs Celebrate Women challenge, Ruby's Rainbow Vintage ChallengeWord Art Wednesday Anything Goes, Papertake Weekly Anything Goes w/Optional Vintage, Simply Challenged Heavy on the Embellishments, TTRCD Aug 6-12, and Avenue 613 Create Anything Goes with an Optional Sentiment.

Annabelle Stamps Sketch Challenge #159

I found the most beautiful quote in the monthly Freebie section on the Annabelle Stamps Blog.  It really spoke to me and I was dying to use it.  Their CAS Sketch Challenge  seemed like the perfect time.

Here's the sketch.  I'm always kind of timid when zshuzshing up a sketch but decided to be BOLD today, using my Nesties Labels Twenty instead of a plain rectangle, adding two mats, popping the lavender and embossing the top one.  The three pearls are there, but I added three more for balance.  I'm hoping that's ok.  I often look at sketch blogs and can't even remotely see the sketch in some people's work so I think I'm pretty safe here.  I really love how it came out, even more because I've found that loving heart and warm protective arms.
