April New Release Showcase for AuroraWings

So here we are with a new AuroraWings Showcase, even before our FB Challenge starts next Monday!  Nothing like new images to lift the spirits and I dare say our spirits need some lifting, not to mention the additional time most of us have to take our mind off things and enjoy our hobby.  So YAY!  All of my projects have been colored with Copic markers.

Mitzi's first new image, Peony Bridal Bouquet, expands the gorgeous options for these beautiful flowers. With so many colors to choose from, I know I'll be coloring them again and again.  Since I'd just used the original Peony Bouquet last month, to combine with the new Peony Sprite in rich pinks and reds, I went a with a much more muted palette to make a free standing shaped card to look like an actual bridal bouquet.  It's fussy cut and popped atop a base cut with Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circles and a ruffle of lace from my stash and only needed a lovely crinkle ribbon bow from DL.Art to finish it off.

I'm entering this in the DL.Art April Linky Challenge AG, the {Pin}spirational Challenge#259...

Next up is Peony Corner, another versatile shape with many possibilities for creativity.  Again I went with a palette I'd not used previously and printed it quite small to fit a favor box, using a die from Momenta.  The sentiment and corners are delicate stickers and again, I've used ribbon from DL.Art.

I'm entering this in the Not Just Cards March Challenge, ...

Would you believe there's yet another gorgeous floral image to show?  Isn't this beautiful combination of Spring flowers stunning?  Spring Posy is another image I know I'll be coloring again and again. It's versatility really knows no bounds and pansies come in such a variety of yummy colors.  Here's another 'Thank you' that is supposed to look like the bouquet is being presented in a box that I've done using Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page with corners (remember them?) and scored and folded for dimension.  I filled it with some of the shredded tissue used in my previous pic.

I'm entering this in A Perfect Time to Craft Open April#42020 AG, Simon Says Monday Spring Mood Board, Scor-pal More than one Score Florals April, ...

Now the next image is a personal favorite of mine because Taurus is my sign, (as well as Mitzi's).  Although it's the 2nd sign of the Zodiac, it's the 3rd Mitzi has done in the Zodiac series, along with Gemini and Aries.  But just in case you don't have an earthy, loyal, sensual, determined, strong willed (read stubborn-who, me? ha!) babe in your orbit, Mitzi made a Taurus 2-pack of this lovely so you can color her with or without horns.  ;D  Of course this one I've colored with red hair and California poppies which are currently blooming where we live.

I'm entering this in the LTSCB#132 For the Girls, Morgan's Art World #4 AG, ...

Here's the softer, gentler version. It's amazing how different this gal looks in another palette, eh? The gorgeous die is by Jeanine's Art and I pulled apart some Recollections flowers and doctored them up with Copics and a gel pen to coordinate with my coloring.  Sentiment on both projects are Small Talk Stickers from Tim Holtz.

I'm entering this in the TTRCD March 31 AG, Coloring in Scrapland March Spring...

All of the above images can easily be accessed using the New Release section HERE on AuroraWings.com and HERE on Etsy.

And how about a coupon, good through the weekend?

But wait!  There's more!

This lovely image, called A Healing Prayer, is a Gift with Purchase, of any amount, through this weekend.  It will be sent via email from Mitzi, with love, to help you through this stressful time.  Enjoy and be well.

Im entering this in the Papercraft Challenges #56 Pastel Colors, ...

March New Release Showcase for AuroraWings

We're really on the ball this month, with 3 new Sprites on the AuroraWings Showcase Blog the first week, plus another exciting surprise.  We're gearing up for Spring in the Northern Hemisphere so, of course, our thoughts turned to flowers.

First of we'll start with Peony Sprite, a flower I ADORE, but have had not much success at growing in my own garden.  That doesn't stop me from having bouquets of these lovelies throughout our house from the Farmer's Market, whenever possible, however.  The hardest part is choosing colors.  So here I decided to add the lovely Peony Bouquet, available HERE, in the Floral Section at AuroraWings.com and HERE on Etsy, to give me more luscious petals in the mix.

Here's a closeup of the combined images.  Peony Bouquet is available in jpg only, but when given a choice, I always opt for png in case I want to merge images.  I've used a Spellbinders Grand Decorative Oval die and Graphic 45 Floral Shop DP.

Here is what the new Peony Sprite digi looks like all by herself.  Still plenty of gorgeous petals to color.

I'm adding this to the DL.Art March Linky Challenge, the Unicorn Challenge Flower Power, ...

Next we have Dogwood Sprite, as sweet as can be and carrying a flowering branch from her tree in bloom.  I decided to keep her as "Springy" as possible with basically white blossoms with just tinges of pink and yellowish green.  She's fussy cut and popped atop a mat that was cut using only the lacey interior of the Spellbinders Venice Lace Designer Series set and using a larger Spellbinder's oval to cut the interior.  The added Dogwood Blossoms were cut with Susan's Garden by Sizzix and the branches from Spellbinder's Ivy Die D-Lites.  The interior of both the die cut and image blooms were done with Prills from USArtQuest.

I"m entering this card in the Outlawz Twisted Thursday AG Challenge, ...

Finally, we have Agapanthus Sprite, an abundant border flower in our garden, also known as Lily of the Nile.  The flower heads remind me of fireworks and I often use them in arrangements for our party on July 4th along with white hydrangeas and red roses.  I've colored her in the light lavender of the majority of our blooms, as well as the deeper bluish purple of the giant variety. (my favorite!)  What a gorgeous image for a bride or wedding attendant, especially a sweet flower girl.  The lovey die here is from Jeanine's Art.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Something Feminine Challenge, the OUtlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Challenge AG, ...

So are you ready to go shopping?  Don't forget the coupon, available for use in either shop on both new and current images.

All new images can be found in the New Release Section HERE on AuroraWings.com and HERE on Etsy.

But who is this?  Mitzi surprised us with another GWP!  Meet Popcorn Sprite, yours free with a qualifying purchase this weekend after coupon.  Be sure to check out the AW Showcase Blog to see the amazingly creative ways my DT sisters have used this cutie.  I chose buttery goodness and a bit of a pun and drizzled a Viva Pearl Pen in yellow (the best match of all of the goo I have in my stash) over her fluffy kernels to make her irresistibly YUMMY!  I managed to isolate part of her hair and manipulate it behind Popcorn Sprite In my Printmaster Pro program to keep the image, at least, flat (another example of why I choose the png images when they are offered) but I couldn't resist adding 3 blooms that reminded me of popped corn.  Isn't she adorable?  You know you want her, so go!  Mitzi will send the image via email within 24 hours.

I'm entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays AG challenge, Creatalicious #182 AG w/ optional Monochrome,   ...

So there you have it!  Another fabulous AuroraWings Showcase that I hope inspires you to color and have fun.  And when you do, be sure to pop over to the Stamps by AuroraWings FB Group and enter our March FB contest for the opportunity to win free images.  New rules allow coloring only and even past projects, so we'd love to see you there.

New images for AuroraWings Showcase

An exciting new Showcase is happening today on the AuroraWings Showcase Blog featuring 4 new images and a surprise!  First off we have Mouse Sprite, the Sprite version honoring the Year of the Rat that was released in January in time for the Chinese New Year.  He's colored with Copics as are all of my samples, and I had fun furrying up his little hood.  In the browns I thought he was cute for a masculine card and couldn't resist the "cheesy" sentiment.  LOL  That chees in the corner was from an old corner punch I found in my stash.  WooHoo!

Mouse Sprite available on AuroraWings.com HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.

Next we have Phlox Sprite and what a beauty she is!  I adore the way she is clutching that bouquet and the color choices for this flower are amazing!  I thought the pink candy stripe version was especially Springy, but I know I'll be coloring her again and again.  I'll be using this as a Valentine's Day card, although it's not overtly a Valentine, but wouldn't she just be perfect for Mother's Day, as well, or any occasion you want to send loving greetings?

Phlox Sprite available on AuroraWings.com HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.

I'm entering this in the DL.Art Thankful Thursday #252 Valentine's Day, Simon Says Wednesday With Love, The Paper Shelter For the One You Love, ...

Tulips are one of my favorite Springtime flowers that bloom in a myriad of colors.  Here Mitzi has created a second version of Tulip Sprite that allows for the mixed bouquet of your choice.  Tell me those pigtails aren't the cutest ever!  I was excited to find gorgeous crinkle ribbon from DL.Art that matched perfectly.

Tulip Sprite 2 available on AuroraWings.com HERE in jpg and HERE in png.
Also available in the New Release section on Etsy HERE.
You can also find the original Tulip Sprite HERE on AuroraWings.com.

I'm entering this in the DL.Art February Linky Challenge, ...

We're going to switch gears a bit here, with this next one, to reveal the second in Mitzi's Zodiac series.  Perhaps you remember the Gemini Abundance Twins from last year HERE.  This regal beauty is Aries, a full size coloring page, suitable for framing, or reducing in size for cards and other projects. Again, the possibilities are endless, as you'll see in the Showcase post.  Aries is a fire sign so I chose my colors accordingly, but she also looks AMAZING in the limited palette chosen by some of my DT sisters so be sure to check it out.

Aries is available on AuroraWings.com HERE, or check out all of the New Releases HERE on AuroraWings.com or HERE on Etsy.

I'm entering this in the Simon Says Wednesday Floral Fantasy, ...

And what's a Showcase without a coupon, eh?  Here ya go!
You know how this works!  Good through the weekend at either shop

So are you excited yet?  Well, there's one more surprise!  How about a Gift w/Purchase?  Yes, this adorable Koala Sprite is YOURS with a qualifying purchase.  I had this design in mind as soon as I saw these cuties, so I flipped it in my printing program to facilitate the design. Cradling her babies, this image just tugs at my heartstrings.    Tell me they aren't the cutest EVER!?!  In light of the recent fire devastation in Australia, this image is especially precious to us all.  Hugs to all who have been affected by this horrible disaster.

I'm entering this in the Lil Patch of Crafty Friends C#125 Challenge AG, 2 Crafty Critter Crazies February, the Classic Design Challenge Blog Feb, Double Trouble challenge #49 Again and Again (using repeated flowers and Nuvo drops on the letters, ancient DP from my Stash as well as a cut up part from another large flower for the leaves and critters)...

Please remember that the coupons are good for any images in the shop, not just the new ones, so enjoy your shopping time.

And also don't forget that although we've discontinued our Blog Challenges, we've continued on our Stamps by AuroraWings FB Group with modified rules that now allow not only complete projects, but also coloring only and they don't even have to be new!

November new image Showcase for AuroraWings

OOOH, goody!  It's the November Aurora Wings Showcase and just in time for the holidays Mitzi, has added four new Angel Sprites.  There are three little guys, each with his own instrument, and a special little girl sure to melt your heart.

First off we have Harp Angel Sprite.  The harp, to me, is the quintessential instrument of the angels so I used the golds and silvers of the heavens to color with Copics and gel pens.  I'm not sure why, but for some reason I flipped him when printing.  The background and sentiment are cut with glitter paper and I used a filigree die from Just Right on the music paper because it reminded me of a harp.  "Joy" is from the Joy Banner from Poppystamps.  The layers are popped with foam and I've used corner stickers and additional stars to round out the design.

Harp Angel Sprite available at AuroraWings.com in jpg HERE and png HERE
and at AuroraWings Etsy in png only HERE in the new release section.

Next we have Trumpet Angel Sprite.  His holly crown led me to choose traditional Christmas colors, papers and motifs for a very different feel.  Again, I've colored with Copics and gold gel pen and fussy cut and popped this cutie.  The lovely holly border die is from Sue Wilson Creative Expressions.  The layers are popped with foam and I've used some flat back beads and corner stickers.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

Trumpet Angel Sprite is available at AuroraWings.com
in jpg HERE and png HERE
and at AuroraWings Etsy in png only HERE in the new release section.

Finally we have Lute Angel Sprite and again I've gone with a different style. I guess the fact that the lute is made of wood made me go with a more rustic theme this time.  The lovely die sentiment is part of the Holiday Shadowbox set from Sizzix.  I've colored Lute Angel Sprite in warm Copic tones to give the feeling of a country Christmas.

Lute Angel Sprite is available at AuroraWings.com in jpg HERE and png HERE
and at AuroraWings Etsy in png only HERE in the new release section.

I'm entering this in the Double "D" challenges What is your Christmas style?  (I've pretty much got them all covered in this post (and in my house), but this one is "country/rustic",  the Outlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Rustic Challenge

The original plan, (as far as we knew at the time) was the three musical Sprites, but Mitzi managed one more beauty for this, our last Showcase of 2019.  Here is Peace Angel Sprite with an olive branch crown, holding her precious dove.  I knew immediately that I wanted to color her in serene blues and silvers and set her against a snowy background.  The large oval dies are Spellbinders Grands and I've used the Star Flourish from Memory Box behind her and cut and layered the Peace sentiment from Tim Holtz 4 times.

I've also used clear Wink of Stella on her wings and lace and some silver and clear on the dove itself for sparkle, but it's very hard to photograph.  Can you see it?

Peace Angel Sprite is available on AuroraWing.com in jpg HERE and png HERE
and at AuroraWings Etsy in png only HERE in the new release section.

You'd be amazed at how different and versatile these new Angel Sprites can be depending upon the coloring and style.  Be sure to visit the AW Showcase Blog to check out the beautiful work by my teamies.

So what's a Showcase without a coupon?  Here ya go!

But EEEK!  Here's one more surprise!  Check out this Gift with Purchase sent to you via email when you use this weekend's discount code "HOLIDAY 30" (or the subscriber's-only code found in the November AW newsletter)!

Nope, I couldn't resist!  Had to color her IMMEDIATELY because she just begged to be a redhead.  LOL  You know you want her!  And remember, the codes are good for all digital stamp listings in both shops.

I'm entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays Christmas theme

So go have some fun and be sure to join us in the Stamps by AuroraWings FB Group and add it to the November Challenge Folder, our last challenge of 2019.  New rules!  Always Anything Goes.  Previous projects and coloring only entries are welcome!

October New Image Showcase for Aurora Wings

It's an exciting day today with 3 new Sprites debuting on the AuroraWings Showcase blog.  EEEK!  How fun! First off is Kitsune Sprite.  This mischief making fox with multiple tails is from Japanese folklore, a baby here, but she could grow up to be scary indeed.  Be sure to read about her legend in the Showcase post.

My tree frame background die is by Gina Marie and I've used gold leaf stickers by Little B and gold script puffy alphabet stickers from the Paper Source.

Here's Kitsune Sprite's closeup.  I colored her with Copics as a red fox to compliment the warm fall colors in my scene with a little extra fur detail with Prismacolor pencils.  The sprig of Chinese lanterns adds to the autumn feel.

Kitsune Sprite is available on AuroraWings.com
HERE in jpg and HERE in png

Next is Hepatica (or Liverwort) Sprite.  This wildflower grows in the forests of Europe and the Northeastern parts of the US.  Such a funny name for a sweet little flower, eh?  Here I've recycled a pocket envelope from Anthropologie and added a blank pull out tag topped with gorgeous crinkle ribbon from DL.Art.  I popped Hepatica Sprite on a rectangle of coordinating paper trimmed in silver border stickers.  The lace "Perfect" sticker hides the logo "perfectly" (after coloring it green with my Copics).  LOL

This tiny beauty grows in shades of purples, pinks and blues, but you'll see on the Showcase Blog that she's adorable in any color you choose.  Again, I've colored with Copics and added some tiny Nuvo drops to the stamens.

I'm adding this to the DL.Art October Linky Challenge, A Perfect Time to Craft October AG, ...

Hepatica Sprite is available on AuroraWings.com
in jpg HERE and png HERE.
Hepatica Sprite in png only, on AW Etsy HERE.

Last, but not least, is Indian Corn Sprite and I've gotta say, I had the most fun EVER coloring her.  Those multicolored ears just scream Fall, my favorite time of year and I was lucky to find a printed Autumn wreath in an old Scrapbook pad and frame block to bring it all together.  The sticker sentiment was so tiny that I mounted it on some plaid paper and added a flower to the frame so it didn't get lost in the noise.  The layers are popped and I added a crinkle ribbon bow from DL.Art.

I knew I wanted to really do some detail work with the kernels so I printed her at 5 inches.  I actually printed her twice and flipped one for variety a(nd in case I messed up). Again I went with Copics and used this photo as inspiration.

Now I can't wait to color her again.  Just think of the possibilities!

Indian Corn Sprite available on AuroraWings.com
in jpg HERE and png HERE.

So are you anxious to nab some of these cuties and perhaps more you've been wanting but maybe missed?  Here's Mitzi's generous Coupon!

EEEK!  Breaking news, there's more!
This mystery gift digi will be emailed to all customers who successfully use the OCT25 code during the promo period between Oct. 17 and Oct. 20. No other action is required. Please allow up to 24 hours for processing as this is not automated.
