Macabre Monday

 This week at Haunted Design House we're doing a Gothic Makeover.  Use a cute image and make it over into a Gothic nightmare, sponsored by the fabulously adorable Saturated Canary.  The winner of this challenge will receive two digis of her choice. WooHoo!  I can't tell you how many of these super cute images I own, and some of them are creepy cute in their own right.  Choosing one to "goth up" though proved to be somewhat of a challenge, but I finally decided upon One of Those Days (who I don't see in the shop right now, but I'm sure Krista could find her for you).  I've colored her up all "gothy" with black lipstick and nail polish and fab purple streaks in her hair but unfortunately, it looks like she's had a "Carrie" kind of day.  Bummer!

The frame cut from Nesties Labels 25 and popped with an acetate overlay printed with a Tiddly Inks freebie colored in my Printmaster Program that has always reminded me of major blood drips.   (Sorry Christy, perhaps not what you intended.) The corners are MS as is the ever present drippy goo behing the computer generated sentiment.  This is a super fun challenge for those of you  who prefer a bit softer side of HDH.  So stop by and check us out and be sure to join in for a chance to win.

Wicked Wednesday and The Saturated Canary

WooHoo! Normally I spend my Sundays scratching my head over Monday's BBTB2 DT projecct but I managed to finish it yesterday because today I'm spending the day with my BFF and her 15 year old daughter shopping. Did, however manage to slip in a little ATC for the current Wicked Wednesday Challenge. (Love that they're so tiny you can do one quick as a wink, well, comparatively for me anyway AND the fact that I won a TOP 3 badge for last week that somehow has disappeared somewhere in the depths of my computer at the mo, but I WILL find it.) The Challenge is Nursery Rhymes/Fairy Tales and is sponsored by The Saturated Canary. Krista's digis make me SWOON so I just HAD to participate with one of hers. Now I know the theme doesn't jump right out at ya, but this is Sleepy Beauty. Besides the fact that she IS a Fairy Tale character, I love how she looks like she can't wait to fall asleep and dream of her Prince. My Sweet Prince tells me "Sweet Dreams" every night. MMMMmm... Now I had plans to do a major die cut and punch dealie for The Saturated Canary Challenge t00, but since time is of the essence, I had to satisfy the requirement with a little MS heart punch and hooking this up there too. The Saturated Canary Challenge #1

Okay, I almost couldn't get any later than this. In fact I would have been too late had I not bopped over to The Saturated Canary Challenge Blog and noticed the deadline for this first sketch (and photo inspiration challenge) ends at midnight! EEEKK!!! I pretty much stink at sketches (no creativity for thinking outside the box with them) but Halloween...NO PROB! I chose the adorable Frankenstein Tambry digi for my project. She's colored with Copics to match the Basic Grey Eerie DP and from there I just pretty much followed the sketch.

Look at that face! Is she precious or what? (Actually, they ALL are and you can see them in the Etsy store HERE, but you'll have to wait 'til tomorrow because Krista took a mini vacay). Go Krista! Edit: She's BAACK!, go shop!

I took a close up of the little dangling charm so that the lovely ladies at Forever Night challenges could see that she's Trick or Treating. She's just a little shy. Love that webby ribbon and the crocheted lace. Thought it looked nice with the crocheted flower on top. So there we go. Friday there will be a new challenge at The Saturated Canary AND Forever Night. WooHoo!
