Have a Wicked Birthday
Again playing with one of the Faery Ink Unicorn Masquerade Birthday stamps from the FB Group event last weekend and this wicked chick is Ophelia. I LUUURVE her! Made it a tag for the Outlawz Saturday Paper Ala Mode challenge and birthday for the Festive Fridays Birthday theme. She's colored with Copics and I printed her originally without her mask (AFTER coloring, of course) and then realized she needed it for the costume contest so I printed her again, fussy cut the mask and popped it on her face. Used my fave color scheme of Red, Black &White. The tag was cut and matted with Spellbinders Labels 25 and added a Memory Box Small Spiderweb Frame. "wicked" was cut with a Tim Holtz Halloween words die and the rest of the sentiment was done with my Dymo label maker. Cool fibers are from my stash.

A Magical Birthday
This gorgeous gal is another of the images I colored for the Birthday celebration at Faery Ink FB Group last weekend. Meet Aja Unicorn Fairy Masquerade. She was a Freebie for the party and was so much fun to color up. I wanted to pop her on a birthday card to enter a number of challenges (one being monochromatic), hence all the yellow. LOL She's colored with Copic with some gold gel pen accents (and white for the sparkles on her dress) and I wasn't really thinking clearly and added some adhesive gems to her mask which made her impossible to run through a die cut machine without ruining her so I cut a window for her instead. Used Nuvo drops in the scallops which sticks better to the glitter paper and added gold butterfly stickers and sentiment to the DP from K&Co.

Faery Ink Meets the Outlawz Sketch
I really had a fun weekend playing with the Faery Ink FB Group at the Unicorn Masquerade Birthday Ball. We played games, received lovely freebies and there was a costume contest and inspiration posts galore. This beauty is Unicorn Masquerade Moon Fairy, one of the costumes I colored over the weekend. She's colored with Copics with a gold gel pen for the stars and I did the background with the "resist" method of using alcohol and a Q-Tip to create texture in the sky. Today I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings, mask and horn for more sparkle.
I didn't have time to do a project with her until today, following the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch, last minute as usual. What can I say? The DP was on my desk from yesterday's project and looked great with the background I'd colored so YAY! I cut her out with a Spellbinder's Grand Circle and Used Gold mirror card stock for the scalloped circle mat. The strip of light blue glitter paper was also on my desk (no, I don't clean up after myself, obviously) so WooHoo for that, too. I thought I had some gold colored adhesive stars for the swirly part in the corner, but if I do, they were nowhere to be found today, so I used a border punch that happened to have a number of different sized stars and punched from the gold, as well. Gluing them on individually was a PITA, but I love how it came out.

A little quickie for the Outlawz
I had a lovely birthday yesterday, but it didn't leave much time for crafting. Wanted to sneak in one for the Outlawz Saturday PAM Sparkle and Shine challenge and made this little card with an image I'd already colored called Kitty Fae from Faery Ink. I tried to do a rainbow coloring and added Stardust Stickles to her wings and a faceted crown and heart to her collar. The die cuts were already laying on my desk, except for the heart because I actually STAMPED the sentiment using my Misti with a clear stamp from Stampendous. Yea, me!

I'm on a ROLL!
Okay then, 3 days of rain has me crafting up a storm (Ha Ha! I made a funny). There's a number of challenges I don't want to slip by and it's rare I'm able to play wherever I want, so this is my second post of the day. Yea, ME! Here's a circular shaped card I've made using my Spellbinders Grand Circles and Scalloped Circles. I chose the shape for the Outlawz Monday Greetings Absolutely No Corners Challenge (which ends TODAY!). The adorable image is Faery Ink's Maggie Flower which I chose to enter the Faery Ink April Flower Power FB Challenge. I made it a birthday card to enter the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday Challenge and the Aud Sentiments Sixth Birthday Challenge (congrats to these two fine companies).
I did something a little different with Maggie Flower. Faery Ink Stamps come in a number of digital formats and for this one, I used the totally transparent png format to print my images directly over digital paper, from AMBillustrations, so I could print multiples for fussy cutting, paper piecing and layering. I changed the size several times in order to stagger the petals and also printed her on white, so I could color the leaves and her face with Copic markers. I can't believe that the smallest layer was the exact size of the epoxy ladybug sticker I used over the printed image. WooHoo!
Here's the dimensional shot. I'm actually not quite sure how many times I printed her to get the full effect, but there was a whole lot of fussy cutting going on. Gotta say I had a ball with this and really, really REALLY love how it turned out. Hope you do too.

Love You to the Moon and Back
The August FB challenge for Faery Ink calls for "Creatures" which includes animals, aliens and mythical creatures. There are a number of gorgeous digis at Faery Ink that fits the bill, but I really love this one called Howling Moon. I've colored the image primarily with Copics and added details (especially the fur) with Prismacolor pencils. My original plan was not to fussy cut but my attempt at a colored background was an epic FAIL! I think it was serendipity though, because after being forced to remove the offending attempt with my trusty scissors, I found what I consider the perfect background DP from Memory Box. The warm colors complimented my coloring and the pattern created a magical Fall scene, don'tcha think?
I tried printing the wings on vellum, but for some reason it wasn't successful. I thought I'd used my laser printer in the past, but after several attempts had to settle for copy paper. That did make them seem at least a little lighter, though. Here's the dimensional shot. The sentiment was computer generated and popped as well. I considered embellies but thought the double matting was all it needed. Gotta say, I love how this one came out and it makes me a bit anxious for cooler weather and the gorgeous colors of Autumn.
