New Challenge at The East Wind
WooHoo! Today our new challenge starts at The East Wind Challenge Blog. Our new theme is "For the Kiddies" so I couldn't resist the adorable Baby Aurora "Angel", inspired by Kyra's own daughter, Aurora. Tell me she isn't the most precious little thing EVER! This sweet card was done with Dp's from Graphic 45 and die cuts from Spellbinders.
I've colored Baby Aurora with Copics in the colors of the papers and added some lovely flowers from Recollections and Prima. I've tried to go a little bolder with my shading and added some pencil work after watching Kyra's fabulous speed coloring videos on YouTube. What a fascinating opportunity to see an artist at work! Be sure to visit the Challenge Blog and see the fun inspiration from my teamies and don't forget to scroll down to see the winners of our Beach challenge. And there's still a few days left in our Just for a Laugh Facebook Contest. Hope to see you there.
I'm entering this in the August Crafty Little Fairies Cute and Cuddly Challenge (entry 2), Hobbybook All About Kids, Fan-tastic Tuesday ATG, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Cards Use Circles, Crafting by Designs Polka Dots, Papertake Weekly Spots and Dots, the Fitztown Challenge Just for Kids, Love to Create inspired by a Book, Song or Movie (Song Brahms Lullaby), and Dragonfly Dreams inspired by a Book you Read as a Child or to a Child (Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear Say Goodnight).

Guest DT Spot for Love to Create
It's my second post of the day and with any luck I'm still not up yet. LOL I'm thrilled to be joining the gals at Love to Create this week for their new Anything Goes Challenge sponsored by The Stamping Chef. I just LOVE those smexy images and couldn't resist Better Than Tarzan so I totally thank Love to Create for giving me this opportunity to make a card for my man. I've used DP's from Graphic 45 and DCWV and cut the aperture with my Nestied Lables 20. The vines behind were cut with Spellbinders Shapeablilities Botanical Swirls.
No surprise I've colored her with red hair. LOL Besides my Copics, I've done some paper piecing of her outfit and headband. The cute little leopard print heart stickers have been in my stash forever and the packaging is long gone. Sentiment is computer generated in brown on kraft. Be sure to stop by Love to Create to see the fab makes by the designers and come play along for a chance to win a prize from The Stamping Chef.
I'm entering this in The Stamping Chef Anything Goes Challenge #33, Eclectic Ellapu Card for a Man, Glitter and Sparkle Father's Day/Men's Cards, That Craft Place Men, Bearly Mine One for the Boys and the Fitztown Masculine Challenge.

Aurora Wings New Release Memento Mori
There's a gorgeous new stamp premiering today at Aurora Wings called Memento Mori. Now you know I love me some skulls and this one, lying amonst the gorgeous poppies makes me swoon! You can find the meaning of "Memento mori", as well as fabulous creations from my teamies using this gorgeous new digi on the AW Showcase Blog HERE.
Here's a closeup view all colored up with Copics. I chose to do the poppies in red to truly make them POP. Lots of fussy cutting going on too.
Did you know that Mitzi also has a variety of floral borders and corners that coordinate with her beautiful stamps? I've used a Poppy corner to balance my design here, but there are many more gorgeous floral stamps available in both sets and individually HERE. They are perfect to combine with her fantasy stamps or elegant on their own.
I've made a tent card, cutting the window with my Spellbinders Labels 17 and framed it with the largest of the Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles. I used the second largest of the dies to cut the opening window with my craft knife. The intricate web, floating through the center, is a Memory Box die.
I'm entering this in the Corrosive Crop it or Cut it Challenge, Left of Center using the LOC theme, Creative Knockouts Die Cuts/Punch Frenzy, the Fitztown Favorite Colors challenge (black, white, red) and A Step in the Dark ATG.

Zandi and Zelda
Here's my little Creative Team project for the Lacy Sunshine Blog where you get weekly inspiration and all the scoop on what's happening in the world of Lacy Sunshine. By now the word is out about the fabulous new Lacy Sunshine Crafts online magazine. You can still get yours HERE. But did you know that besides the 130+ pages of inspiration, tutorials, tips and treats you also will receive some Freebies that are brand new and will never be released in the shop? These exclusive new digis will be emailed to you with your purchase and I just couldn't help but do a little project with one of my faves, Zandi and Zelda. Those who know me know I have a bit of a thing for zebras and Zandi is about the cutest little zebra EVER! If you're at all interested in all my zebra stuff, be sure to click HERE. I'm also quite a fan of black and white, and even more so when there's a pop of RED, so there ya go.
I've colored these cuties with Copics, fussy cut them and backed them with black and fussy cut them again. They're popped atop a circular side step card (tutorial on SplitcoastStampers HERE). I cut my circle using a Spellbinders Grand Circles and jazzed it up a bit by adding a scalloped border using the Grand Scalloped Circles and trimming it to fit. The only embellies need were some Alpha Bead hearts. The sentiment was computer generated. It reminds me of when I was in school and my BFF and I would dress alike. You know the old saying, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". Too cute!
I'm entering this in the Art by Miran ATG challenge, Crafty Little Fairies Spots and Stripes, the Fitztown Favorite Colors Challenge and A Random Fan Polka Dots Challenge.

The East Wind Embossing challenge
It's the first of the month and that means a new challenge at The East Wind. The DT has all used the adorable Freebie, Aurora Gardening that comes when you sign up for the Newsletter so be sure and check right hand side of the Challenge Blog and sign up to get yours. This fortnight the challenge is EMBOSSING (wet or dry)!
Here's a cloose up of this cutie. She's colored with Copics, fussy cut and popped. The gardening embossing folder is from the Cuttlebug Cricit Companions to Freshly Picked. The fun veggie Dp is Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety and I've added multicolored twine from The Twinery.
Here you can see I've popped the two matted embossed layers as well.
I planned this as a thank you card but really couldn't fit my hokey pun on the front so here's the matching inside. My DT sisters have done her up proud so please go visit The East Wind to see their gorgeous creations.
I'm entering this in Simon Says Wednesday ATG, Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Layer it Up Challenge, the Fitztown Thank You Challenge, Chocolate Coffee and Cards Embossing, Craftitude Pop it Up, Jellypark Bold and Bright, and Creative Knockouts Summer's Coming.

Lacy Sunshine Add Flowers
I'm cutting it so close to the end of the Lacy Sunshine Add Flowers Challenge that I'm gonna have to come back and fill in the gaps. Phew! Just made it with 3 minutes to spare. I was thrilled to find out that as a member of the Creative Artist Team for Lacy Sunshine, posting once a month on the Lacy Sunshine Blog(where you find out what's New and Now in the Lacy Sunshine world), I'm still eligible to enter the challenges on the Challenge Blog and contests on the FB Group because I love playing there. This card is doing double duty. The current FB Contest is to use any of the Bubbles stamps so I'm entering this there, as well. My plan was to make this look like a fluffy white towel on a towel bar using some cool textured paper from Sizzix. I hand cut the towel shape and used my Spellbinders to cut the hole for Bubbles to peek through. the sentiment was hand stamped with individual letters from an ancient set which took me FOREVER to get straight. Why I didn't use my computer to generate it, I'll never know. Guess I thought "practice makes perfect" but sheesh!
The adorable image is Bubbles Bath available in the Sticky Wings Section of the Shop. She's colored with Copics and I've added some fun holographic bubbles and Stickles to the suds. The additional daffodils are rubber stamps from Heartfelt Creations, cut with the corresponding dies by Spellbinders.
The center step design worked well for my plan and here you can see a bit of the dimension as several portions of Bubbles' daffodil bathtub and towel were fussy cut and popped on the image. I tried to curl the "towel" to look like it was hanging on the (coffee stir stick) towel bar as well. The whole thing actually turned out better than I expected. Woohoo!
I'm also adding this to the Digi Galore Flowers Challenge, the Outlawz Friday Alcohol Markers Keep Calm and... Challenge, Pattie's Creations Fancy Folds, Aud Sentiments Sentiment for a Friend, Oddball Art Stamps use a Digi, Fitztown Challenge Fancy Folds, TTRCD ATG April 8-14 and Stamp and Create Spring Flowers.
