New Challenge at The East Wind

WooHoo!  Today our new challenge starts at The East Wind Challenge Blog. Our new theme is "For the Kiddies" so I couldn't resist the adorable Baby Aurora "Angel", inspired by Kyra's own daughter, Aurora. Tell me she isn't the most precious little thing EVER!  This sweet card was done with Dp's from Graphic 45 and die cuts from Spellbinders.

I've colored Baby Aurora with Copics in the colors of the papers and added some lovely flowers from Recollections and Prima.  I've tried to go a little bolder with my shading and added some pencil work after watching Kyra's fabulous speed coloring videos on YouTube.  What a fascinating opportunity to see an artist at work!  Be sure to visit the Challenge Blog and see the fun inspiration from my teamies and don't forget to scroll down to see the winners of our Beach challenge.  And there's still a few days left in our Just for a Laugh Facebook Contest.  Hope to see you there.

I'm entering this in the August Crafty Little Fairies Cute and Cuddly Challenge (entry 2), Hobbybook All About Kids, Fan-tastic Tuesday ATG, the Outlawz Monday Greeting Cards Use Circles, Crafting by Designs Polka DotsPapertake Weekly Spots and Dots, the Fitztown Challenge Just for Kids, Love to Create inspired by a Book, Song or Movie (Song Brahms Lullaby), and Dragonfly Dreams inspired by a Book you Read as a Child or to a Child (Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear Say Goodnight).

Showcasing the New Lucy Loo 'Cat on the Head

Today I'm showcasing the newest digi from The East Wind called Lucy Loo 'Cat on the Head' over on The East Wind Show Room.  Gotta say she cracks me up, so I thought she'd be a great reminder of the "Just for a Laugh" FB contest going on now through August 17th.  Since it was all about the hair, I used bobby pin DP from the DCWV All About Girls mat stack and framed her with my Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight.  My BFF Lisa helped me come up the the sentiment and I couldn't resist adding a mousey border done with my MS punch.

Lucy Loo was so much fun to color with my Copics and I just can't stop giggling about that cat on her head.  You can always count on Lucy Loo to inspire a humorous sentiment with that attitude of hers (or in this case, should I say "catitude"?  LOL)  Come on, join our FB contest and make us laugh!
I'm entering this in the Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Animals Challenge, 2 Cute Ink Animals,  Through the Purple Haze ATG/Femme Fatale Twist, Fan-Tastic Tuesday ATG and SOSS "Z" is for Zoo (or any other animal or animal print, man, those chicks are easy).  Hope to make one with an actual Zoo animal but might not make it due to a crazy couple of weeks, but I thought you might get a kick out of this.xxx

Professor Loo from The East Wind

This is for all my friends who teach.  Admirable job.  Couldn't do it myself.  So this latest make from the new release from The East Wind, Lucy Loo 'Professor Loo' is dedicated to you.  I used the png transparent background again to  merge her with the blackboard (retired from Tiddly Inks) then fussy cut around her skirt to add it to the background that was embossed at the bottom with the Tim Holtz Bricked folder.

Here she is!  I've been practicing my coloring and had so much fun with brown hair (for a change) and the folds of her top.  The East Wind artist Unky has done her first video on coloring hazel eyes (watch it HERE) and I even tried that, although it's hard to see on such a small scale, and added Glossy Accents to her glasses and lips.

AND, because I so wanted to enter the current Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers "B" is for Brads or Buttons Challenge,  I risked my HOURS of coloring to punch a hole in Lucy's badge and add my VERY LAST little skully brad to her jacket and a couple more to the corner of the card.  See ladies, ya know I luv ya!  (I'll take the one on the left.)

Even think my computer generated sentiment has just the right amount of snark.  Do kids actually speak to each other any more?  Or hand write ANYTHING?  Don't get me started on this.  As if teaching kids isn't hard enough...shudder!

You can see more fabulous makes with 'Professor Loo' on THE East Wind FB Group page where you'll see new releases every Monday and Friday.  Stay tuned for the winners of our FB Contest and the new one starting soon.  And don't forget our "It's Getting Hot" Challenge (open to interpretation,  LOL) on the East Wind Challenge Blog running through July 25th.  Hope to see you soon.

I'm also entering this in the Fan-tastic Tuesday #44 (must be square or rectangular) ATG Challenge, Bearly Mine Let's Go Digital, Crafting by Designs Use a Sentiment, Digi Galore ATG and Paper Pretties Red, Black and White.

New Challenge at Dilly Beans-Flowerful

Spring has sprung, the grass is ris, I know where the flowers is - at Dilly Beans!  That's right, our new challenge at Dilly Beans is Flowerful.  We want to see lots and LOTS of flowers.  Now that I look at this, it's kinda dark for Spring, but I chose the MAMBI DP for all the flowers and colored my image accordingly.

The adorable image is #182 Flower Girl (Scroll down for yours). I cropped the flower and printed them several times in different sizes and flipped some so I could fussy cut more to add to the frame.  All were colored with Copics.  The mats were cut with my Spellbinders ovals.  It's quite the blooming garden at Dilly Beans so be sure to pop over and see the lovely work by my teamies and hope to see you there.  Just remember, you must use a Dilly Beans image to join in.

I'm aslo adding this to the Cute Card Thursday Floral Delights challenge, Southern Girls Floral Frenzy, and Fan-tastic Tues ATG (but must be square).

Lacy Sunshine Dark vs Light Challenge

Well, I just couldn't let it go.  My first entry into the Lacy Sunshine Dark vs Light FB Challenge used a Boo image, but the dark side still beckoned.  (Big surprise, LOL!)  So I went to work with Amelia (possibly my all time FAVE image) and created this.  Unfortunately, I seem to have missed the deadline because I couldn't upload it in the challenge folder.  BooHoo!  The card is 6x6 square and I popped Amelia on the front and fussy cut around her to shape the front flap.

Amelia is colored with Copics in shades of pink and grey.  Was able to find the same patterned DP in the two colors as well.   I've used a scrap from my Spellbinders Arch die and a bat border punch on the front and also added a Glo skull from my Minion sister Creepy Glo's Etsy shop to her bow.  (LOVE!)  And when you open the card, VOILA!

Amelia is all boofy (beautiful) and light.  This took a fair amount of cropping flipping and welding the light side of Amelia in my Printmaster Pro program and I wasn't even sure it would turn out, but WOOHOO.  Pretty cool, eh?  Isn't it amazing what love can do?  (This one is obviously for my man!)

The inside dies are are from a long discontinued Spellbinders Fleur di Lis Medallions set accented with some silver flat backed beads.

I'm entering this in the Left of Center ATG Anniversary Celebration Challenge, and the Fan-tastic Tuesday ATG (but must be square) challenge.

A Valentine for my Man

As soon as I saw Veronica Vamp by Kenny K, I knew she was gonna be on this year's Valentine for my man.  Had to say I kept it kinda simple ('cause he likes it that way), using two different doilies, a touch of embossing and a sentiment from Ginger's House.  Couldn't forget the lips though.  His kiss?  MMMMmm...!!!  (Oh oh, TMI?)

Now tell me you're surprised she's a redhead.  LOL  Really fun to color, too.

And inside...well...  Wishing you all the love of your dreams.  Happy Valentine's Day.

I'm entering this in the KennyK's Krafty Krew's Love Challenge, Digi Stamps 4Joy Hearts, the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Valentine's Challenge, TTRCD ATG Feb 11th -17th, Sassy Studios DTBST It's Valentine's Day Challenge, the Fan-Tastic Tuesday  Romance challenge, the Corrosive Feel the Love Challenge, the Crafter's Cafe Must Have Hearts and the very first Naughty or Nice Love challenge (the image is a bit naughty but the sentiment is nice).
