Monochromatic at Simply Steampunk

Our new Monochomatic Challenge begins TODAY at Simply Steampunk.   The team is showcasing the second set of Steampunk Zodiacs and I have the pleasure of working with Gemini.  This fun girly image screamed PINK to me and so it is.  The color scheme seemed fitting as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so I'm thinking this may be the very first Steampunk Breast Cancer Awareness wall hanging in the world. (Didn't have an appropriate dowel to hang this from so it's lying flat at the moment.)

I've colored the twins with Copics using mainly R81-89.  They were printed right on the Printed DP from the Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby Stack and cut with Nesties Labels Twenty Five.

The dress form was cut from white card stock on my Cricut from the French Manor Cartridge and colored with Copics as well.  The wings are from the Cuttlebug Vintage Collage Emboss Plus folder and the (PINK!) gears with a Tim Holtx for Sizzix Die from textured metallic card stock.  The Pink Awareness Ribbon and heart are from JoAnn's.

It was fun trying to incorporate girly Steampunk details.  The final one, another gear topped with a flower and "hope" done in wire with beads (also from JoAnn's a bazillion years ago).  My teamies have done a wonderful job with the Monochromatic theme (ours was harder than most since were were told that skin and hair must also be monochromatic) so be sure to stop by Simply Steampunk and be inspired.

I'm also entering this in the Link Up for Pink 3rd Annual BCA Linky Party, As You Like It Favorite Not a Card Project and Why(Wall hangings because they give you more room to play and it's fun changeable decor), DLArt Thankful Thursday BCA Linky Party, Crafty Creations Winged ThingsThe Paper Shelter Shabby Chic, Whimsy Stamps Shabby Chic/Vintage, Inky Chicks 2 Different Die Cuts, and Shopping Our Stash Pink or BCA.

Dilly Beans Monochromatic

It's Friday!  Time to pull out your Dilly Beans stamps and join us for another Challenge.   This week we're going monochromatic.  I've chosen an adorable newbie, #572 River Framed and paper pieced her hair and dress using printed DP from my DT sis Jenn, who knows I agonize over choosing coordinating papers.  Thanks, Jenn!  The flowers and leaves in her hair were just colored right over the DP in darker shades of orange after gluing the piece down.  Easy peasy!  Two more squares of coordinating prints, a solid mat, a bow of my favorite gingham ribbon because it's so fresh and makes me happy and adhesive beads and it was done!  Now, how come it took me all day?  The team has done a fabulous job with gorgeous colors so be sure to visit the Dilly Beans Challenge Blog and check them out.  Remember, a Dilly Beans Stamp is required but there are some great deals in the SHOP, like a huge discontinued bundle (50 STAMPS, including some of my faves!!!!!!!) for $25 or 10 current stamps (your choice) for that same price.   Now's the time to buy!

I'm also entering this in The Sparkles Monthly Autumn Colors Challenge, The Cupboard Trilogy Monochrome, As You Like it Favorite Ribbon or Twine and Why, Little Red Wagon Falling to Pieces, and Paper Pretties Designer Duds (2 or more DP's).

Simply Steampunk Frame It Challenge

This month at Simply Steampunk our challenge is Frame It.  We're showcasing the Original Steampunks Line and I've used the adorable Little Witch

She's colored with Copics in purples which seem to show up blue in my pic for some reason.  She's already framed beautifully in the digi but I've added a Spellbinders Floral Oval and Labels Seventeen as well.  I love the lacy edging of the Oval and the Label is nice and large for layering on a 5 x 6 1/2 " card.

The sentiment is in another metal embellishment frame with a computer generated sentiment overlaid with a purple skeleton leaf.  I hope it will brighten someone's day "just because".  Please visit the Simply Steampunk Challenge for more fabulous inspiration from my teamies.  The challenge is monthly so you've plenty of time to play long.  Come join us.

I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Happy Mail Challenge, Left of Center (both LOC and use a digi), Live & Love Crafts 50 Shades of Lilac, the As You Like it Favorite Die or Punch Challenge (their very FIRST Challenge so go check them out), The Perfect Sentiment Make it Feminine and the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Anything Goes and the Crafter's Cafe Mother's or for a Female Challenge.
