Shaker Tag for the Outlawz
The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge is always Anything Goes, but if you use the "twist" you get 2 chances in the draw at the end of the month. The Outlawz Forum is a fun and supportive group with 7 challenges a week plus a monthly "Progressive" challenge and I play there as often as possible.
This time the twist for Twisted Thursday is "SHAKE YOUR CONFETTI" - make a shaker card or whatever. It's been so long since I've done one I decided to do a (sort of) quick tag. I noticed the graphic when "re-downloading" some of my Etsy purchases from Gecko Galz. (No, I still haven't retrieved all my digis since "the crash") and thought it would be perfect for a shaker. The quote is from the Scripted Digital Collage set by Gecko Galz that I've printed on acetate and cut out with my Stitched tags by Gina Marie. There are little gold dots around the quote that don't seem to show up in the pic but I kept with the metallic theme and cut the top layer in gold glitter card stock. I used transfer tape to stick two pieces of foam together and ran them through my Grand Caliber which did jack them out of shape a bit but I was able to assemble the layers with a decent amount of Doodlebug sequins and beads in between. Punched a hole up top and added some cool metallic ribbon from my stash, et voila!

The Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge
Leave it to me to be finishing the Outlawz August Freebie/Progressive Challenge on the last day. Not particularly surprising, you say? Well, I'll give you that, but I've been busy trying to get a jump on my September DT projects because September (eek! tomorrow) is going to be a busy month and I'm already stressing about it BIG TIME. Outlawz DT member Jean Chaney has provided tow fabulous fish called Swish, the Angelfish and Swish Tangled (did you know Jean was a certified Zentangle instructor? Me neither, how cool, check out her Tangle Street Studio HERE.
I added multiple Swishes (heehee) to Swish Tangled with the background and colored it all with Copics. I'm not too pleased with the photograph as the fluorescent colors aren't as bright and seem to blend together. I've actually used 7 different ones, although you can't tell in the middle section...sigh... The background DP is digital from Gecko Galz. The sentiment is computer generated and thought was quite fitting for fancy Swish Tangled.

Freedom for Wednesday Sketch
Oh boy! Two patriotic cards in a row. Yeah, I guess you could say I'm running a bit behind, but I did want to use this lovely image drawn by a girl who just turned 9, the daughter of my friend Cristena Concialloni-Bagne of Copictopia, named Meadow. I'll tell you a bit more about this image in a minute. I've used the sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch challenge, a digital background and sentiment from the Gecko Galz Show us Your Stars and Stripes collage set. I've cut and matted Meadow's Eagle with Spellbinders Nested Ovals and added faceted star embellies.
Here's the sketch.
Here's a closeup of the image drawn by that talented artist Meadow Bagne. I still can't believe that Meadow was still just 8 years old when she drew it. (She's had a birthday since then, so a belated Happy Birthday, Meadow.) Isn't it amazing!?! I bought this image as part of a Memorial Day fundraiser for the Gary Sinise Foundation for veterans, sponsored by Meadow's Mom in the Paper Crafting Support Group on FB and colored it with Copics to enter in a coloring challenge for the event. About time I got it on a card. The image was exclusive to the event, but personally I think Cristena should offer it for sale on Copictopia, don't you?
I'm also entering this in the DL.Art July Linky Challenge, Create and Inspire #64 July AG, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #61 AG, 2 Crafty Critter Crazies #4 July AG/w Animal, the Corrosive Challenge #7 July AG, Country View Crafts July Things with Wings, Crafty Animals #4 July AG w/Animals, Crafty Girls June 15th challenge AG w/optional masculine, TTRCD week of July 11 AG and Creatalicious AG w/optional Red, White, and Blue.

Oh Say Can You See
I didn't manage any patriotic makes in time for the 4th but there's no reason not to celebrate the USA all year 'round. Besides, there are plenty of challenges still to be entered like the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge.
With this pic as inspiration, how could I resist? Ya think there's enough red white and blue? The adorable image is #1488 Oh Say Can You See by Sandra Caldwell. Digital paper behind is recolored in my printing program (original is black and white) from the Graphicals Paper pack from Gecko Galz and the sentiment if from the Show Us Your Stars and Stripes Collage set. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon bow is from the Patriotic Bundle from DL.Art with the royal blue option and I've added glitter foam stars, a blingy starburst, a stretch of starry ribbon and of course, the flag from my stash.
Here's a closeup of the patriotic cutie #1488 Oh Say Can You See. She's colored with Copics and I've added tiny gem stars to her earrings. Sandra has lots of patriotic images, but this one is one of my faves. I think the title is the cutest (named by my teamie Crafting Vicky) with the little bear peeking out from behind her tall hat and I've gotta say I can't help but get teary eyed with our national anthem is played. God Bless America, land that I love.
I'm adding this to the DL.Art July Linky Challenge, the DL.Art Thankful Thursday Summer Fun Challenge (celebrating the 4th of July), Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #61 AG, Papercraft Happy #2 AG with a Girl, Jo's Scrap Shack FCC#196 AG, Glitter 'N' Sparkle # 247 Red, White and Blue, Creatalicious #118 AG w/optional Red, White and Blue and Really Reasonable Ribbon #167 AG w/ribbon.

A Quickie for a Couple of Challenges
I have been crafting but they're for later in the week. Here's a quickie I did just now for the Tuesday Color challenge and the Festive Friday theme of A Card with String on the Outlawz Forum. Digital Papers are from the Burlap Beach collection from We Are 3. the Crab pic is from Gecko Galz and I've used some of my new nautical/beach/sea dies from Spellbinders and Kat Scrappiness that I've inked with Distress. (And of course there's the string from my stash. Here's the inspiration pic from the Color challenge with the Twist At the Seaside.
I'm also adding this to the DL.Art June AG Linky challenge, the DL.Art Thankful Thursday Boys/and or Men Challenge, Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #59 AG, Simon Says Wednesday AG and Dies R Us #74 Masculine.

Magic Tea Garden Event at Markers! Papers! Digis
There's a Spring Fling Event going on in the Markers! Papers! Digis! FB Group through the end of the month. Several of the sponsors have challenges and this is the first I'm entering for Sandra Caldwell's Magic Tea Garden. You know I love me ANYTHING that has to do with Alice in Wonderland, so I had a ball with Sandra's digi, that you can find HERE. I've colored with Copics and used digital paper from the Gecko Galz Ask Alice pack. I was surprised today with a birthday card and goodies from my friend Diana Larson, of DL.Art, including some flowers in the perfect colors for my project. Thanks, Diana! I used Nuvo Drops for the centers of the small and a resin teapot for the larger and spelled out the sentiment in square Alpha Beads.
I'm also entering this in the DL.Art May Linky Challenge, and Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #58 AG.

Millie Mermaid
It's a new release day for Sandra Caldwell and I'm showcasing about the cutest little mermaid you ever did see. Meet #1570 Millie Mermaid and I gotta say I fell in love with her the minute I saw that precious face. I wanted her to have special treatment so I actually used the background technique from the May Kit and Clowder Monthly Markers Class and I'm absolutely thrilled with how she came out. This is the first time EVER I've used a class on one of my projects (yeah, my BAD) but it won't be the last, for sure.
Here's a closeup of #1570 Millie Mermaid. She's colored entirely with Copics with a bit of white gel pen on the bubbles. Isn't she just the cutest ever?
The actual project is a center step using my Spellbinders Grand Labels One which was a bit of an afterthought. I'd played around with this design and this base was sitting on my table. That's why you can't really tell from the front because the front mat is so large it obscures the steps but I still love the way it turned out. The bubble paper is digital from La Isla Bonita from Gecko Galz. The sentiment and shell borders are from Graphic 45. I've also added a Magnolia die cut, fishy stickers from Little B, a starfish and crab from JoLee's and some netting recycled from a produce bag. Can you tell I really had a ball with this one? Every Friday is new release day for Sandra Caldwell so be sure to check out all of the new designs. Inspiration can be found by my teamies in the Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans FB Group.
P.S. Sandra is having a fabulous 50% off Memorial Day Sale through May 31 that you must check out HERE. Patriotic and Americana stamps included are already discounted. Not only that, but if you buy 6 or more (at ANY price) you get 2 FREE (at ANY price!). WooHoo! Message Sandra Caldwell on FB with # and Name of digis you choose. Join the Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans FB Group to keep up with all that's happening. Steampunk Silly Contest ends TODAY!

New Release from The East Wind
There's a gorgeous new release today from The East Wind celebrating the lunar new year called Happy 2017 the Year of the Rooster. I've used the no background PNG version (one of several versions included with the stamp) so I could add her to a digital background from Gecko Galz. I've also used another digital paper from the Mori Girl pack. The lovely lantern die is from Die-Versions.
Here's a closeup of Happy 2017 Year of the Rooster. The words in the moon behind her are stickers, and to be honest, it took me awhile to actually see that there is a rooster behind her, making this image more versatile than you'd think. I've colored her with Copics in the colors of the background papers. Her outfit is called a hanbok which is traditional Korean dress. I think it's just beautiful, don't you?
Unky is also offering the entire new release for the month of February for one low price. You get all 4 new digis before they are available individually for just $12.00 (for a limited time).
Here are of all the important links you need.

Let's Go Skating!
I made this cute tag for one of the Outlawz Festive Friday themes. Naturally I got it in just under the wire (new themes started today) but I HAD to do this one, for sure. There are always 4 themes to choose from each week and the first I decided to do was "Let's Go Skating". The adorable image is #957 Ice Skating Girly by Sandra Caldwell. The background is from the Let it Snow Jewel It set from Gecko Galz on which I've digitally added a skating rink from a photo I'd cropped and tweaked to fit my background. Then I used Flower Soft snow to blur the crop and better integrate it into the design. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from a combo of Steel Blue from the Blues Bundle and Silvery Hues Sea from the Mermaids Tale Second edition from DL.Art. I've also added little skates from Tim Holtz, attached with a tiny paper clip.
Here's a closeup of Ice Skating Girly. I removed the background from her in the Lunapic photo program and added her the the digital background in my Printmaster Platinum program before printing the scene. Then I colored her with Copics, cut a pom pom in two and glued the fluff to her earmuffs with Fabric Tack.
Ice skating is dear to my heart because I took lessons from the time I was 5 until age 12. It was a special Daddy and daughter time. Here's a picture at an outdoor rink when I was just starting to skate (circa 1959 or early 1960). I still have the sweater he's wearing and it actually fits me now. LOL My Dad was a fabulous skater, an ice dancer actually, and I always felt so special skating with him. He even built a rink in our backyard for me to practice on for years when the weather permitted. Very fond memories but I better stop now. Getting kind of teary eyed. Once a Daddy's Girls ALWAYS a Daddy's Girl. xxx
I'm adding this to the DL.Art Thankful Thursday Winter Challenge, the Craft Rocket Challenge Add a Bow, Simon Says Wednesday Anything but a Card, and the Sisterhood of Crafters Celebrating January.

A Beautiful Sight
I'm finally getting back into the swing of crafting and what better way to do that than to work with a brand new digi from The East Wind called Lucy Loo 'Winter Birch Forest'. I just realized that the last 3 East wind cards I made were in blues, but at last this time I added some kraft after finding the DP from the Winter in the Woods stack from DCWV. I love the subtle snowflake pattern and it reinforced the rustic feel I was going for (and helped me choose a color for Lucy's jacket). Yea!
Here's a closeup of Lucy Loo 'Winter Birch Forest'. Unky's images come in several formats, all for one price on Etsy and I most often choose to work with the nb png so I can print and color them on a digi paper background. One of these days I'll get to actually doing the background classes I've signed up for, but today was not the day. The light blue and white digi paper background is from the Gecko Galz. Lucy is colored with Copics with some shading with Prismacolor pencils. I've done the texture on her jacket and jeans by dipping a terry cloth washcloth in some 91% isopropyl alcohol and quickly dabbing the surface after coloring.
I cut the sentiment from a page in 6x6 Ice Crystals paper pack by Recollections and attached it with a cute stag's head closepin. That gave me the idea of adding my new sweet deer dies from Joy Crafts at the bottom. Thought they fit with the sentiment, too. Wouldn't they be a beautiful sight while walking through the woods?
Finally here's the dimensional view. Gotta say this one would be a bite to mail with that closepin, eh? I've also used a snowflake border die from Joy Crafts and the swirl at the bottom is from Taylored Expressions.
There's also an exciting new "package deal" for January in the shop where you can get all for of the coming January releases for $12.00. That's a 25% savings and you will received ALL of the January stamps before the rest are released individually. WooHoo! Here's a peek at what you'll receive.

Non Traditional Christmas Colors for The East Wind FB Group
There's a new FB contest in The East Wind Group with the theme of Non- Traditional Christmas Colors, meaning NO red or green. This was a no brainer for me since I LOVE creating with icy blues and I just HAD to use the gorgeous new Aurora Red Heart Nose and my new frosty ice border embossing folder by Sheena Douglas. I've sort of fallen in love with embossing vellum and this time fussy cut the frame to reveal the lovely digi. the added snowflakes are from JoLee's and the silver borders and sentiment are stickers.
Here's a closeup of Aurora Red Heart Nose. She's colored with Copics and Prismacolor pencils and I've Stickled the snowy patches on her head, trees and hillsides. I've used the no background png version and printed her on a background from Gecko Galz.
I'm adding this to the DL.Art Thankful Thursday Any Winter Holiday Challenge, the Outlawz Paper a la Mode Anything Goes, A Snowflakes Promise Winter #35, and lots more when I have more time.

Season's Eatings
Okay, I'm not even going to tell you what it took to upload these pix to my computer from my phone because my camera wouldn't load into my dropbox, but it suffices to say that I got NOTHING done today except for this card. I'm new to smart phones and the actual phone service is hit or miss in my home because we're in some sort of dead zone, so you can imagine I don't use it much, but seriously? Am I just too old to figure this stuff out in a timely manner? (End of rant, now on to my card)
Speaking of timely, my plan was to use this adorable image, Turkey Dinner, a freebie from Ike on the Ike's World challenge blog, as a Thanksgiving card but it got a bit lost in the queue so I added a wreath made from some of that Tim Holtz wired greenery, added perfect pearls gold berries and a ribbon and VOILA!, a Christmas card. As a kid, we always had turkey for both Thanksgiving AND Christmas, so it works for me. I still managed to keep the color scheme as orange green and brown to just slip this in the DL.Art Thankful Thursday color challenge as well, so all was not lost. Okay, so there's not a lot of orange, but I think the carrots will do here, as had I finished it before Thanksgiving, I would have added DP with a bit more of it.
Turkey Dinner cames as a no background png so I was able to use digital paper from Gecko Galz that reminded me of fancy dining room wallpaper. I've colored the image with Copics, and added quite a bit of shading and fur detail with Prismacolor pencils and some silver gel pen on the fork. He looks like my Goliath, don'tcha think?
Of course I'm adding this to the new SUYP (Cats only) Krimbo Kitties Challenge, and also the Outlawz Twisted Thursday Christmas Card Challenge too.

2 Tags from Scrap N' Dipity
I don't know about you, but I'm WAAAY ADD today. It's nearing the end of the month and there are lots of challenges I want to enter. There are still several things going on in conjunction with the 12 Days of Christmas on the Markers! Papers! Digis! FB Group. Here are 2 of the 3 tags I've made using the Not-So- Helpful Xmas Penguins from Scrap N' Dipity. (only $1.00 through November 30th so HURRY!) I printed this first little guy on some Digi paper from Gecko Galz that I sort of compressed into a tag shape in my printing program. Added a little trim on the bottom, some candy cane ribbon and a sticker sentiment from my stash.
I colored the little guy with Copics and I've used Sparkle Fluff flocking on his ear muffs and some gel pen on the ornament cap. then I carefully cut away the bulb and added one of the freebie Christmas Bulbs from Scrap N' Dipity that I sized to fit and covered in Diamond Glaze for shine.
I'm entering this in the DL.Art November Linky Challenge and Creatalicious ATG w/optional sentiment.
The second little penguin is looks like an outdoorsman, so I created a little winter wonderland for him using a background from one of the Gecko Galz "Jewel It's". I colored him with Copics and used a "Snow Writer" (I had to reconstitute because it was so old) to add dimension to his hat. I sprinkled glitter on it before it was dry because I also wanted to enter this in the Scrap N' Dipity November Glitter challenge. I also used some Stickles to highlight the snow in places and some epoxy snowflakes with star centers.
Had one heck of a time getting a "glitter shot" but here ya go.
I'm also entering this in the Creatures and Critters November Linky w/optional create an outdoor scene, the Dream Valley Winter Animals, Glitter and Sparkle Blue and White, Holly Jolly Christmas Anything but a Card, Come and Get it Baby it's Cold Outside and the Outlawz Tuesday Color challenge.

I can See Clearly Now for The East Wind Facebook Contest
Yup, it's time for a new FB contest at The East Wind with the theme of "I Can See Clearly Now." Huh? Not so hard, unless you have glasses like mine, LOL. No really, we just want to see something clear or transparent on your project. Could be acetate, vellum, Glossy Accents, you get the picture. Anyway, I made a little winter scene using the adorable Aurora 'Kitty Trand'.
I've made a shaped card using Spellbinders Grand Regular and Decorative Labels One. The frosty window she's looking out of is vellum I've embossed with a Darice folder under acetate with the "frostless" area cut with a Spellbinders Deckle Oval. The little kitty sitting on the sill is an Impression Obsession die. The sentiment is one of Tim Holtz's new little Christmas Sticker sayings. (LOVE!)
Here's a closeup of Aurora 'Kitty Trand'. (No, I have no idea what that name means. Is it because I'm old? No matter, I think she's just adorable, don't you?) I used the no background png version atop digital paper from Gecko Galz and colored her entirely with Copics with no dramatic shading. I just wanted a soft sweet image.
Here's the dimensional view. I considered making this a shaker, but I would have had to add another layer of acetate since the frost was supposed to be on the inside of the window and I was running out of time. I also would have run the risk of having whatever I put in to shake having a bunch of static and clouding the image so I blew off that idea. I actually cut the turquoise fun foam that's between the layers with my dies in so it made a lovely clean edge. Got some more clear or sheer stuff going on with the acrylic icicles, combo vellum and clear glitter snowflakes and some sheer organdy ribbon. Guess I got it covered.
Hope you come join us in the TEW FB Group for this fun new challenge which runs through December 17th and don't forget our current Blog Challenge which runs though November 25th.
Here are of all the important links you need.
I am entering this in the Crafty Cardmakers Embossing Challenge, 613 Avenue Create November ATG, LTSCB#90 ATG, The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Christmas Magic Challenge, the Outlawz Festive Fridays Winter is on the Way, the Ribbon Girl November Use Any Image challenge, Creatalicious ATG w optional sentiment, Left of Center Christmas/Creepmas, CHNC #308 Cute or Anything Christmas, CHNC Christmas Challenge Extra, Crafting With Friends #32 ATG, and Winter Wonderland Poinsettias or Snow is Falling.

Happy Halloween! Here's Some Projects for Gecko Galz
It's been WAY too long since I played in the Gecko Galz FB challenges and my eyes were not exactly cooperating in the coloring arena after all the stuff I did last week, so first I did the Gecko Galz BLOG HOP (lots of fabulous inspiration from the team FREE collage sht at each stop with PRIZES to be had at the end. WooHoo! Still going on TODAY HERE! Then I managed to play with a bunch of my Gecko Galz collage and digi paper sets and came up with these cards.
I'll start with my fave because it's the most "Halloweenie" and because I entered it in both the Numbers and Magic is afoot challenges. The image is from the Gypsy Magic Collage sheet (hmmm...not in shop) and sentiment from Midnight Magic. I was looking for some gold patterned paper in my GG files and came across the one behind but don't remember which pack it came from and now can't find. To be honest, it's driving me CRAZY but I must move one. Striped paper is from Authentique and that fab spider web doily was a gift from my pal Creepy Glo. Crystal ball and Oct 31 stickers are from Recollections and the bats are Raindots.
I'm also entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays Halloween Day Challenge and Left of Center Halloween.
For the Buttons and Bows Challenge I went again with a Halloween theme and used a freebie from the Gecko Galz Pinterest page of a witch's costume pattern. I cropped it and then resized the sentiment and used digi paper from the GG Coven paper pack. The scissors is from the Stitch in Time Collage sheet. I ripped up some dingy tissue that looked like pattern paper and used twine to tie Tim Holtz bones on top of an antique button from my MIL's button tin.
I was gettin' kinda tired but thought I'd do one more that's all digital for the Brown and Gold Color Challenge. Papers from GG Chocolate Box(seriously YUMMY!) AIW image from the Ask Alice Collage set (I changed it to brown in my printing program) and a key from the icons in the La Boheme Craft Kit. Sentiment is a gold peel off (guess it's not all digital after all).
I'll be back later (hopefully with at least one more Halloween project) and the WINNER of the Donna Kitty stamp from Sandra Caldwell.

The Outlawz Progressive Challenge
There's a monthly Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge and this month we received this adorable Juggling Tiger by Gerda Steiner. I didn't mean to wait 'til the last minute, but a few unexpected things came up that I wanted to participate in, so I just managed this under the wire, as it ends tomorrow. I used digital paper from Gecko Galz Life is a Circus pack behind him and colored him with Copics with a little fur detail from Prismacolor pencils. I added clear epoxy dots to the balls because they fit and I was in too big a hurry to wait for Glossy Accents to dry. The sentiment is a peel off sticker and I've added little stars to the banner and called it done. Too bad I didn't get it finished in time for the Cat Lover's Blog Hop. I'm going through withdrawals, but this is at least a big kitty.
I'm also adding this to the Share your Designs Challenge at Gerda Steiner.

Another Quickie Post for the Last Day of the Cat Lover's Hop
WooHoo! I did another card for the final day of the Cat Lover's Hop at Her Peaceful Garden. My eyeballs are going buggie from the last few days of intense coloring (not just for the Hop) but I saw a link on Fiki's Blog for a freebie called Happy Fall Cat from Gerda Steiner Designs in Celebration of National (World?) Cat Day (I've read both, but finally looked it up, and today is NATIONAL CAT DAY. WORLD CAT DAY is August 8th but certainly cats are such awesome creatures that they deserve more than ONE DAY. In fact, once a month sounds good to me.) So there ya go! The digi was so cute, I just had to color it up immediately, using the png version on a Fall background from the Gecko Galz Fall into Nature Collage sheet. I love using collage and digi papers with my digital stamps. I've colored Happy Fall Cat with Copics with a little fur detail from Prismacolor pencils and used a rub-on from MAMBI for the sentiment.
Thanks to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for organizing this fabulous Hop and to all the wonderful sponsors and participants. It has truly been amazing. And please don't forget to comment on my first project post of the day HERE for a chance to win my namesake Donna Kitty digi stamp by Sandra Caldwell.
I'm also entering this (just under the wire) in the Gecko Galz October Fall into Autumn Customer challenge, and the Gerda Steiner Share your Designs Challenge.
