I told you I'd be back with a card. Too bad it almost took me all day. This is actually my 3rd attempt at the Stampotique "Vintage" challenge at the Stampotique Designer's blog. I know, I know, more "retro" than "vintage" but attempts 1 and 2 didn't pan out so I decided to go with my original idea.
Meet Karin by my FAVE Daniel Torrente. Tell me she doesn't look like a (deranged) Domestic Goddess. The papers just happen to be Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess. She's got a tiny metal knife in her hand by Darice and the red metal adhesive hearts by Colorbok. Oh, and I forgot to mention earlier that her dress is paper pieced using Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen paper. (Draw the details? I wish!)
The sentiment (borrowed from AnneTaintor) is computer generated except for my handy dandy Alpha Beads. I hope everyone is enjoying World Card Making Day.
Karin is one of my favs too! Such an evil grin she has! LOVE the sentiment and the use of the beads. Quite clever.
ReplyDeletewe have a dark side, uh? lol/... love the sentiment, it made me laugh so hard.
ReplyDeleteI love this card, I can so related to her more than I can Martha Stewart. I love Graphic 45 Papers.
ReplyDeleteHappy World Card Making Day!
Donna, I love the card but the sentiment has me in hysterics!!! I'm laughing so tears are rolling down my face!!!
ReplyDeleteBtw, how can I get in any trouble when the DH has had his watch dogs on top of me this weekend?!!! LOL! I couldn't have even tried!!!
donna this is just such a great card!!!! the sentement just made me giggle and i love the image! hugs Lou xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love this card. One question, how did you make the design on her dress? If you say you freehand drew that, I'm going to need to hang it all up right now.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Donna what a fun card.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome. Love Karin.
This is fab Donna, I love Karin too, simply because she is insane but manages to hide it well lol. The sentiment is perfect - and who hasn't been there :o) x
ReplyDeleteWhat a funny and beautiful card, Donna. Great use of Karin. Thanks for joining us at Stampotique Designer's Challenge.
ReplyDeleteLove this card and it is vintage in my book. Karin is one of my faves too because of her grin!

ReplyDeleteyou remember us talking about our blessings? well I got a call yesterday that my friends husband died so I am going to his funeral today.
so glad I don't take my life for granted!
ok so sorry to start my comment that way..
I love the card..what a neat mix of items on it! and the sentiment (or is that resentment?) turned out cool too!
Donna, love this "everything but the kitchen sink" card, just adorable, hugs
ReplyDeleteWhat a riot! That's me, EVERY day! Cooking is one of my least favorite things to do. The pp on her dress really add to her 50's look. Love that Graphic 45 paper. I think I may actually have that somewhere...
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! So much eye candy--and I love the Anne Tainter image you've included. Great work.
ReplyDeleteLove her paper pieced dress, it looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteD, you are soooo badd!! I was trying to picture this card in my head when we were talking, and you told me she had a knife..hehe, it turned out way cute(er) than I could ever imagined. Her dress is so cute, never would have thought that it was paper pieced. Love the entire concept my friend!
ReplyDeleteHugz, xx
