Smeared and Smudged Guest Designer Challenge and BOTH Blog Hop Winners

I'm thrilled to be Guest Designer this month Smeared and Smudged Forum. Not famliar with Smeared and Smudged? Well, it's a fun, supportive group of "alternative" stampers, hosted by the fab owners of Smeared Ink Stamps. Each month there are a number of different challenges and I was lucky enough to be asked to host the November GDT Challenge. I've used an image from the Smeared Ink Smitten digi set, also available as a single HERE. I chose the image because I'm trying to convince myself that a butt the size of Cleveland can be a GOOD thing since my diet and exercise regimen is not yielding the rapid results I'd hoped for and I'm about ready to eat the furniture. LOL I've added dimension using the pyramage technique with my Nesties. Have you guessed the challenge yet? Well, check it out HERE. I'd love to have you join the forum (just ask) and my challenge this month. And BTW, you get a free digi just for entering. WooHoo!

Now on to the Blog Hop Winners! First, the winner of the BBTB2 Blog Hop and the $40 Gift Certificate from Custom Crops is LUCKY NUMBER 13! Thank you so much Custom Crops for your generous sponsorship!

Wanna Know a Secret? and BBTB2 Blog Hop Winner

I woke up in sort of a lovey dovey mood this morning and wanted to make a card "just because". I've got plenty of DT stuff to get done, but I just wasn't sure I could get going on that until I did a little "quickie". It just so happened I'd printed out the Sexy Ladies #1 cut outs sheet from Peggy Loves Vintage recently, and this little flirtatious cutie caught my eye. Perfect! I used the fun retro dot DP from Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line and cut a window straight through the mat layers with my Nestie hearts. I then used the scalloped hearts on the dotty mat to make a frame. I printed the sentiment on a smaller heart and added a gorgeous silk bow.

I decided to fussy cut her out so I could use the off cuts of my hearts behind her. HeeHee, she's a cheeky one! I had a ball making this for my Sweetie. Hope he loves it! Peggy's images couldn't be cuter, so I hope you'll take a look at the huge variety of vintage images Peggy has on her store. There really is something for any occasion, and for no occasion at all. LOL

And now the moment you've all been waiting for (for 2 whole days because I've been a terrible SLUG!)...The Winner of the $40.00 Gift Certificate to CUSTOM CROPS is.........NO. 32!!!!!

Blog Hop Winner and Tons of Announcements

TGIF, everyone! I dare say I wish it were still earlier in the week as I've still got tons of things to do to get ready for the 4th. However, it's a very exciting day for me because I've been PUBLISHED in the July issue of GingerScrapStreet Digital Magazine. Click HERE for the Table of Contents and HERE for the Alice in Wonderland Article. WooHoo! Thank you so much Jess for including me in this fab publication. I'm honored to be featured among such fabulously talented designers.

And BTW, Jess has a little incentive to view the article. She has a little game going for some fab Blog Candy so Click HERE to see what that's all about.

Just so happens that most of the images from my published card came from The Octopode Factory. It is also the day that The Octopode Factory Friday challenges begin and you KNOW I'm excited about that! I can't wait to participate in the challenges. You needn't use Octopode images to join the challenges but you do need to use them to WIN so I'm sure you want to shop HERE.

Then, on July 14th there will be a fabulous joint venture between Tiddly Inks and Make it Crafty. Read all about this exciting collaboration HERE! Just wait 'til you see the gorgeous new mix and match stamps from both stores.

Now I'm hopin' you guys didn't just skip to this part 'cause there was lots of cool info about upcoming events (as well as a little horn tooting of my own, but) FINALLY, the winner of the BBTB2 Blog Hop prize, a $40 gift certificate from CUSTOM CROPS is......

BBTB2 Blog Hop Winner a Some Awards.

I am the worst at posting Blog Awards so I apologize if I've missed you. As it is, I had to go back a month to find this lovely Styish Blogger Award for the fabulous Jenn(StampinAngel Jenn)! Thank you so much Jenn! Bet you thought I completely forgot! Now there are rules to this which I choose to completley ignore. LOL One of which is revealing 8 things about myself. Seriously, I'm boring? If you read my blog you already know that. LOL

I also received the Versatile Blogger award from my dear DT sister Kerry(LakulCards) from the Cuttlebug Spot and also Lisa from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. Thank you so much, ladies!

Now Lisa didn't have enough abuse, she not only gave me the lovely Versatile Blogger Award which I didn't get around to acknowledging until today, but also the BFB Award. Holy moley, girly! You're a Sweetheart! Oh oh, again asking for the FACTS for that Versatile Blogger Award (and of course, the Stylish Blogger Award)! Well, maybe a few...

1) I'm an only child with no kids (I guess the buck stops here)

2) I'm a 16 year old living in the body of a _ _ year old. (how cruel!)

3) I'm a natural blonde who has found redheads have more FUN!

4) I'm easily bored so I like to mix it up when I craft.

5) I craft in silence except when I'm talking to myself or my BFF in my head

6) I believe wine is the Fountain of Youth, or at least SHOULD be.

7) I live in a dream world.

8) I really DO have Popsicle Toes!

Well, that ought to do it for Awards, 1 & 2, but passing them on to as many people as required is pretty darn impossible so if the award fits, GRAB IT! You can say it's from me.

and the BFB Award is to be given to people who consistantly visit your blog and leave comments regularly. Oh YIKES! Got lots of those too. Now you buddies know who you are so I won't mention you all and feel free to grab it, but I do want to give a shout out to KIM H (Scrappin Mom Of One Inspiring Little Boy) who always makes me feel like the most talented crafter on the planet. I really appreciate the love and support!

And finally, the moment you all have been waiting for, the winner of the $40 gift certifcate to Custom Crops is....... Number 24!

Congratulations No 24, COOLNANA 72! Who wrote:

Blog Hop Winner and Trip Pix

Not necessarily in that order. LOL Indulge me a bit. Our girly trip was so much fun last week but I'm telling you the drive there was HORENDOUS! Torrential rain which was terrible since the roads are extremely windy (read BARFY, ugh!) for at least 2/3rd of the way up the coast. It took nearly 5 hours instead of 4 and poor Lisa was white knuckled by the time we pulled in but it was nothing a bottle of wine couldn't fix. LOL This was the gorgeous view from the deck the next morning.

It was sunny, but it was COLD! We went to Mendocino for a little shopping and later in the afternoon a huge cloud rolled in and it started to HAIL! This is Lisa, Abbey (Hayley's BFF) and Hayley (Lisa's daughter)

Quite unexpected! Fortunatly the sun reappeared and melted this mess before we had to head back to Irish Beach BUT...

When the sun went down and the girls hit the hot tub it started to snow! Enough that Lisa was able to make a little snowball. No big deal for Lisa since she's originally from Wisconsin, but Hayley (age 14) had never been snowed on before.

And it was STILL THERE the next morning. Okay, nothing major, but this is the Northern CA coast, not Tahoe. I know all you guys back East are ROTFLYAO but it was a BIG DEAL in these parts! Listening to the local radio the night before you'd think they were preparing for the storm of the century!

Well, we didn't get enough shopping so when the sun came out and it all melted away we headed back to Mendocino. So weird that recently I'd been talking about the movie Same Time Next Year and on the way there we past the resort where the film had been made. Unfortunately it has been closed for awhile now and we couldn't get past the gate, but around the bend we pulled off the road and I managed to snap a pic. The large white building is the restaurant and if you look to the left you can just see one of the rooms. They are actually on a bluff but I couldn't get past a fence to get a better view. Bummer!

Sunday was glorious but we sadly had to leave. Even the drive was gorgeous. (and less nauseating) with views like this. We plan on making it an annual event.
So if you've hung in there it's finally time to announce the winner of my BBTB2 Blog Hop Candy (the $30 gift Certificate to Custom Crops) is...

DRUMROLL please...

BBTB2 Blog Hop Winner and Getaway Pix

Happy Saturday everyone! Thought I'd share a few trip pix from Post Ranch Inn at Big Sur, CA before I reveal what you really came here to see. Although David booked the trip hoping for a storm, I was more than thrilled with the gorgeous weather, especially when we saw the spectacular sunset from the balcony of our room. We stayed in an Upper Coast House with ocean view the entire length of the room (and bathroom). Total privacy so the curtains stayed open.

The property is large and all structures were designed to blend harmoniously with the natural beauty. This is the reception area.

and here is the lower meadow from where I took the pic.

Scattered throughout the property are fabulous sculptures.

Making a wish...a BIG one!

And amazing fountains. This is the entrance to the restaurant.

But here you can see it juts out over the ocean for unobstructed views.

There are hidden places at every turn

I wish I'd thought to bring my suit.

There's an amazing spa and even a yoga yurt. Truly a place to restore both body and soul.

It was hard to say goodbye to such beauty.

and wind our way back along the coast to home. But I appreciate your patience so without further ado, the WINNER of the $30 gift certificate to Custom Crops is...

WooHoo! Congrats BunnyFreak! Please email me at dlmundinger(at) yahoo(dot) com so I can arrange for your prize. Thanks to everyone who participated in the hop (and put up with my travelogue). Also, it is not lost on me that I have recently reached 1000+ followers. I'm a bit overwhelmed and was afraid to mention it until I was pretty sure the number would stick (LOL) so stay tuned for more blog candy (as soon as I figure out what it will be) xx D
