Aurora Wings February Showcase

It's a Happy Day on the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog with the release of 4 new Sprites!  I'm thrilled to be joining the Showcase team to introduce the newest of the Baby Animals Sprites.

First off we have Chicken Sprite.  This little cutie took me awhile.  I couldn't decide which breed of chicken to choose.  So many fun options, I know I'll be using her again and again.  I printed this one in a lighter gray for a semi no lines approach but with the black and gray color scheme I finally chose, it's not as evident.  She's colored with Copics and a Memento dual marker for some crisp detail.  People who know me will not be surprised at the sentiment.  ;D

And here is sweet Lamb Sprite.  Animals babies are Springtime's promise of new beginnings.  I've used papers from the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime pack to make a sweet wall hanging.  Flowers are from Recollections and gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from DL.Art.

It's been lovely weather for ducks here lately, so Duckling Sprite fits right in.  I colored this sweetie with Copics in colors that match the adorable ducklings at Blackhawk Center in Danville.  Such a delight!

And finally, we have Llama Sprite.  Hubby and I wave to her every morning as we pass the herd on our walk.  I couldn't help but use a Spanish sentiment pun and bright papers from K&Co.

Of course it wouldn't be a Showcase without a coupon, so here ya go, good at both shops through Sunday, February 25th.  Be sure to stop by the Showcase Blog to see the fabulous inspiration by the Showcase Designers and guests.

Don't forget our new challenge, Over the Rainbow, now going on at the Aurora Wings Challenge blog.  Hope to see you there.

Over the Rainbow with Aurora Wings

Our new challenge #75 begins today at the Aurora Wings Challenge Blog with the beautiful theme of

With the dismal rainy weather we've been having, a rainbow would be a welcome sight, but coloring in rainbow hues was the next best thing and lifted my spirits immensely.  We always welcome creative interpretations of our themes at Aurora Wings, but since it's been awhile since I've colored in gradations, I thought that's how I'd go.  The beautiful image is Poppies, available HERE on AuroraWings.com and HERE on Etsy.

I've colored Poppies with Copics in more colors than I could count.  The sequence doesn't exactly follow the colors of the rainbow, but more that of the color wheel, as I wanted to go from light to dark.  My craft room has been in even greater disarray than usual, since having company come, so I printed my image before even attempting to find an appropriate die.  But lo and behold, the crafting gods were with me and she fit perfectly into the center of a new and unused Spellbinders frame from the Designer Series Chantilly Paper Lace.  WooHoo!

I didn't want to detract from the vibrant colors so I matted with white as well but added some texture with my Swiss dots Cuttlebug folder and popped it on a light blue card base that fairly closely matched the subtle chalk background I'd used around the image.  The only embellishment is a tiny yellow dimensional butterfly sticker from Little B.  The sentiment is a sticker from the Tim Holtz Small Talk collection that reads "give out what you want to come back".

Be sure to stop by the AWCB to see the lovely inspiration from my Stella teamies and why not follow us Over the Rainbow and come play along?

OMG!  Hubby just came in to tell me there's a double rainbow outside!

Not the best pic, but before I could even get it uploaded it started to thunder and hail!  Yikes!

Okay then, here's how to keep up with what's happening at Aurora Wings.

Guest Designer for Bugaboo Bingo at Catch the Bug

It's Saturday and that means another new challenge at Catch the Bug.  This week we're playing Bugaboo Bingo.

I've chosen the bottom row (charm, sparkle, enamel dots) and Skelekinz Heart Peeker.  I just love these cuties, don't you?  Remember, all new releases are 50% for the week so be sure to check them out the Freebies & Sales tab each week for super deals.  I've colored her with Copics and cut with a stitched oval die.  The glitter DP is from the old DCWV Madly in Love stack.  The sentiment is another punch out from the Authentique Valentine bundle, the enamel dots from Cloud 9 and the skellie key charm is from my stash.

Be sure to stop by Catch the Bug and check out the fabulous inspiration by the team.  Hope to see you there!

Bugaboo Love is in the Air

I'm so excited to be Guest Designing for Bugaboo Stamps as Winner of the 2018 Holiday Chaos event.  WooHoo!  This is my first post for the Weekly Saturday Challenge at Catch the Bug, Love Is in the Air.  I've used the sweet image Greetings-You Are Beautiful.  It was easy and fun to color with my Copics and I kept the card CAS as well, using the Spellbinders Card Creator Cascading Hearts die.  The sentiment in the upper corner is a punch out from a Valentine bundle from Authentique.  Be sure to check out the fabulous inspiration from the Bugaboo team at Catch the Bug and come play along.  Hope to see you soon!

Mid-Challenge Inspiration for Aurora Wings #74

It's time for a little mid-month inspiration from the Aurora Team for our Anything Goes Challenge #74 at Aurora Wings.  Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided to do a Valentine using a non-Valentine image, Kitty Sprite, available exclusively HERE at AuroraWings.com.  Who doesn't love a pile of kitties?  Well, you KNOW I love ME some!  I'd found in my stash some mini conversation hearts that fit purrfectly with the adorable kitties, so there ya go!  The DP is from an ancient K&Company stack and the punch out sentiment and little "smitten" sticker (couldn't resist! it rhymes with kitten) is from a Valentine crafting bundle kit from Authentique.

Here's a closeup of Kitty Sprite, colored with Copics.  Gotta say I get all warm and fuzzy just looking at this purrecious digi!  You've got a better view of the teeny hearts, too.  Pretty sure they're from Mike's, at least a year ago and I loved their smaller size and the cute, more traditional sayings without things like "text me".  Sorry, I don't find that romantic in the least.

Now, you've GOT to go visit the Challenge Blog and see the spectacular projects from my Aurora sisters.  I PROMISE you won't be disappointed!  And hey, why not come play along?  Still lots of time.  Pop on over to our FB Group, too.
