Elf Antics Day 13

Since the Toy Room remained empty, Elzabet and Olivia decided to relax with mugs of cocoa while Feenix, Mystery and Suzie offered the latest peppermint treats.  Feenix was especially proud of the fabulous peppermint trees and Mystery finally formally introduced Suzie to the Senior Elves.

Although Suzie didn't mind helping with the candy canes,  It did not

tap into her special talent, but everyone must work together and not give up hope.  Olivia got quite animated as she chose the cane for her cocoa.

Elzabet, realizing these were indeed trying times, only rolled her eyes, suspecting that Olivia just may have spiked that cocoa.

Elf Antics Day 12

 

While attending to the reindeer, along came the Shoohoos Peregrine and his twin Peony.  If you remember, Shoohoos are cousins to elves, fairies, gnomes, and the like and are friendly benevolent souls.  Erf and Peregrine had met last year when Erf had been on his quest to find additions to Santa's herd but he'd not met Peony before and thought she was pretty cute.  Maybe a bit tall for him, but...  

The Shoohoos were happy to see that the reindeer were thriving but became very concerned as Erf explained the panic situation in the Toy Room. Oh, dear!  Will Christmas be canceled if the toys are not found?

Elf Antics Day 11

 The elves had scattered when the going got too tough in the empty Toy Room.  Erf was happy to escape into the crisp winter air and went to feed the reindeer. It's so important to keep their strength up for their fast approaching journey. They were very glad to see the big bag of feed Erf brought and Erf was happy to escape the drama.

Everyone was happy to see that Hope and Junior received their gifts and loved the cards and things you were sent, too.

Elf Antics Day 10

 As you can imagine, Jemima was not happy with her new assessment of "Naughty", although what else could you call her behavior?  In her mind she was helping her friend Grinchy become a welcome sight at Christmas, but maybe, just maybe she had crossed the line.  Elzabet's patience was indeed growing thin and she was contemplating retirement.  She explained the North Pole had rules that must be followed, especially during the months leading up to Christmas and everyone must do their part.  The other elves had scattered and hopefully hadn't run off for good. AND THERE ARE STILL NO TOYS IN THE TOY ROOM!  Jemima listened with tears in her eyes.  Then in came Grinchy to escort a dejected Jemima out the door.

With any luck, my elves will be able to continue their participation in the 9th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art, but time is of the essence! (Just kidding.  Of course they will, but it's going to be a very busy 2 weeks, especially with no toys in the Toy Room!)

Elf Antics Day 9

All of a sudden, a giant green mouse entered the toy room.  What a scary sight he was with his long green claws, ragged ear, red eyes and gnarly teeth.  The elves gasped in fear as Jemima explained that this was Grinchy, her bestest friend and he was there to help her pass out Grinch buttons to the children who came to sit on Santa's knee.  He had also helped haul the unusual tree into the (still empty) Toy Room.  "No, no, no, no, NO!" exclaimed Elzabet. "Grinchy would TERRIFY the children who came to see Santa!  Just look at how terrified the elves are of Grinchy!"

The was NOT the answer Jemima wanted to hear!  She got all up in Elzabet's face and declared it would be a toyless Christmas indeed.  By this time, Grinchy had skulked away with a very dejected look on his face and the little elves began to scatter.  Behavior like this would not be tolerated and they didn't want to stick around for the consequences. Elzabet's only recourse was to mention it to Santa, but of course Santa already knew.  He had already issued this year's assessment of Jemima and the official stamp deemed her "NAUGHTY"! 

Look between the bottom signatures at the stamp.  Last year Jemima's said "Sassy", this year it says "Naughty".  Yeah, it's confusing, but I didn't design the certificates.  Maybe Santa always has wishful thinking, until...

Elf Antics Day 8

 

Erf and the rest of the elves finally made it back to the Toy Room and were aghast at finding the shelves bare and a peculiar tree standing there.  They were even more surprised at seeing Jemima, as they figured her "Sassy" status pretty much guaranteed she'd be a goner.  But there she was, explaining that the tree was a gift to persuade Santa to allow her to pass out her Grinch buttons to children who came to sit on his knee.

Last year the answer was "No" but Jemima insisted that Elzabet look them over and put in a good word to Santa. Then, if she did, and Jemi was allowed to pass out Grinch buttons, perhaps the toys would return.  Hmmm...  The rest of the elves were still rather speechless seeing the unusual tree, not to mention the lack of toys, but Elzabeth tried to humor Jemima, looking the buttons over carefully.  In her mind, however, she was thinking "No WAY is Santa going to be blackmailed into this!"

Elf Antics Day 7

 Still no sign of the toys.  Elzabet and Olivia were trying their hardest to make the Toy Room festive, adding a few decorations here and there, but this morning when they entered they were surprised by a weird Christmas tree that seems to have sprung up overnight.

Then all of a sudden in popped Jemima.  You remember Jemima, don't you?  Last year she was a new recruit, but Santa's assessment of her attitude deemed her "Sassy".  Santa, of course, being the kind and jolly soul he is, has considered giving her a second chance to make the grade, but I dunno.  "What?  You don't like the tree?" she asked?  HHmmm... Seems like she hasn't lost the 'tude....

Elf Antics Day 6

 

Mystery decided to travel to the bake shop and met a new friend.  Her name is Suzie, and not only is she great at baking, but she has another talent that would be very useful in the Toy Room.  Maybe Mystery can convince her to meet the others after her shift.

Elf Antics Day 5

 Still unaware of the dilemma in the Toy Room, Erf enjoys a Cocoa break with Rudolph as they discuss ramping up the reindeer training in preparation for the big night.  Santa seems interested, too.

Elf Antics Day 4

 

The elves split up for a while, totally oblivious to the drama in the toy room.  Feenix decided to do a little shopping but Santa seemed alarmed that she was considering browsing the high end stores, fearing she might fall victim to the flash mob looting that is becoming so prevalent in CA cities and elsewhere.  It definitely seems more fitting for her to visit The Christmas Store, don't you think?

Elf Antics Day 3

Not everyone is stressed out because of the disappearance of the toys.  Erf, Feenix and mini Mystery decided to take a stroll down to see some of the village Christmas lights.  Erf has a new top befitting his position as Santa's chief reindeer wrangler and Feenix is sporting a new hairdo. Mystery is content with her usual uniform.  She especially loves her boots.  She says they are just like Santa's. (I think she sleeps in them.) They seem to be totally unaware of the drama in the toy room.  My elves are sharing their adventures in the 9th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.  Grab your elf and join the fun!

Elf Antics Day 2

 Well look who's here!  Olivia heard sobbing coming from the Toy Room and rushed in to investigate.  She didn't even bother to change into her "Official Christmas" elf outfit which she was certain Elzabet would disapprove of.  But Elzabet was so upset, she didn't even notice.  OH MY!  WHERE ARE ALL OF THE TOYS? (And for that matter, where are all the other elves?)

Hopefully they all will be found soon or this will be a very dismal month to share with our friends at the 9th Annual Elf Antics Linky Party at DL.Art.  Come on and join the fun!
