Thanks to my dear friend Smita, I found a fun challenge on the fabulously creative Amy Tsuruta's Blog. Flashback Friday let's you take a walk down memory lane and the previous winner get's to pick the next challenge. I was happy to see that another blogging buddy (and cat lover), Rose was GD and had chosen the challenge so I just HAD to play along. (Besides, the work was already done, WooHoo!) Rose asked for our very first challenge card. I KNEW mine had been for the original BBTB challenge blog because it was the reason I made a blog in the first place. I SOOOO admired the DT and wanted to be just like them when I grew up. :D Although I had been inspred by a few of the previous BBTB challenges, this was the first one I actually did on time and posted to their blog: the car cut from Mickey and friends from November 12, 2008. My dear friend Leah loaned me the cartridge so I could play along (and to this day I still don't own it!). Notice I've been doing my shape cards a LONG time and I'm still taking my pix on the same tablecloth on my washer/dryer in the laundry room. LOL If you're interested in my original post with details you can find it HERE.

so misses...since the beginning you were using layers too and dimensionals...wow...you must have been the originator of all and you still using the same tablecloth that all this time I thought it was a napkin or paper towel, lol and in your laundry room and that is super funny because the last card I made I used the laundry room to take the pic for FIRST TIME since Lulu had to go potty and I had to rush with the card. :)
ReplyDeleteLovable and ingenious and super talented since your beginnings.
Super Hug today :)
Aha, now I know...I have long admired that setting for your cards and wondered...was it a tablecloth, was it a bedspread. Now you have shared the secret with us.
ReplyDeleteOh my this little car toting a Christmas tree is just darling and so so Donna. Look at those layers and details?.... A Donna Card for certain.

ReplyDeleteWow! That's your first posted card? I always knew that you had a natural talent for making cards and that just proves it. It's awesome! It's no wonder that your cards are truly gorgeous when you had such a strong foundation to build upon. It's a great story, tfs.

Oh How I wanna be just like ALL you creative people when I grow up as well.. Your shaped cards still amaze me. Will I ever get it figured out???? Keep posting, and start that video stuff you were talking about.. how nice would that be,, step by step how-to's for shaped cards with lots of layering.. Yup, think you should do it :)
ReplyDeletelove that you shared your first challenge card. The shaped cards always catch my eye! Thanks for sharing the photo tip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little car with the tree! The picture looks like it was taken on a paper towel not a spread, and you definitely can't tell it's draped over a dryer. However, I like the effect -- it makes a nice background!
ReplyDeleteHi sweets!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for the outing today!
Like a lil' mini vacay just down the street!
Makes me realize how beautiful our city is!
It was wonderful to spend time with you and hopefully now that my main man (or smallest man, LOL) isn't "attached" anymore we can get little outings more often..if just to our pathetic J's! LOL!
Love you much!
Leah (and thanks for my prizes!!!! =o)
OMG = can you get ANY cleverer (is that a word???) This is FABULOSO!

I loved your card then and I love it now Donna! You are amazing and I can't believe there is a cartridge that you DON'T own! It's funny that you mention the tablecloth, the other day when I was visiting I wondered what it was that you take your pictures on because it showcases your cards so well! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete...and as they say, the rest is history....Donna you have been creating beautiful cards for a long time and I have been a long time admirer.....
ReplyDeleteWell, this certainly bears repeating! Absolutely adorable!

Wow, that's your first card? I'm speechless. That is a gorgeous gorgeous card.....with every little detail. And your cards don't need any fancy lighting or settings.....they are amazing and look great just the way your doing it....don't change a thing! I'm off to check out that new challenge blog....sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable, Donna... Such a lovely card :-) And what a lovely post that was too :-)
