Bah Humbug Challenge # 11 - Peel-Offs

This week at Bah!Humbug! the challenge is peelies, which I personally love! Maybe it's because they're not so readily available in the US so I've had to rely primarily on my friends across the pond. But at the recent Expo there was a booth FILLED with peelies and I managed to spend $50 there. I'm particularly fond on them for embossed cards where just a tiny sentiment, corner, or border adds that little special something. On these two cards I used that fun double embossing technique that I've been enjoying so much. For details click HERE for Nilda's video on The Cuttlebug Spot. These were a bit more challenging because I used my Spellbinders Create a Flake instead of a regular Nestie or Label but I LOVE how it came out. The embossing folder is the limited edition Snowflakes folder I got at Custom Crops. The cards are matted in the palest blue foil (which of course didn't photograph anything like the true color. It's even paler than the icy blue background I used for the photo) and aren't those delicate snowflake peelies GORGEOUS! (wish I'd bought a ton more of those!) The "Season's Greetings" was a gift (I think from Izzy Wheadon from the Cricut mb (Hugs, Izzy!) and the "peace" is a Stampendous peelie (one of the few manufacturers in the US). BTW, today is my dear friend Margie's 50th birthday so why not pop over to her BLOG and wish her a happy day?

  1. Peelies are like stickers, right?? You got to be kidding... they aren't readily available in the US?? They are available even here in India :-D

  2. Hi Donna - are peelies like a rub on?

  3. I'm not sure what peelies are either. But love your snowflake. I am going to have to try that double embossing.

  4. Hi Donna,
These are magnificent. I love the embossed white card. I think it is so effective and the coloured border just sets these cards off.

  5. I do not know what peelies are but I certainly love your card. :)

  6. Yeah another peel off fan !!! Thank goodness someone was a happy bunny with out challenge.
Over here in England many of us started our card making with peel offs and we were just learning and some of the peel offs around were very tacky to say the least, but used with style like you have done peel offs can be so useful and extremely classy. I just love both your cards.
That technique is just gorgeous - I must check that out. Seen it before but never done it.

  7. Cute card, Donna! I love the peel-offs too. I order mine, but you're right, they aren't readily available here. I have found some on HSN. They are gorgeous!!!

  8. We have "peelies" around here - and I get my hands on them whenever I can for card-making. Love 'em! Beautiful cards! Off to wish Margie a happy birthday!

  9. Very classy looking! Love the embossing and the little snowflakes. How on earth did you ever get them so straight? I would have them moving all over! lol Great card!

  10. Hey Donna,

OOOH these look so cool! I am not 100 percent sure what they are but it looks like they are sticker like and perhaps thicker? As if I need another thing to spend money on! LOL!

  11. Awesome Donna. Love the double embossing and the peel offs make a very elegant card.

  16. First of all, Donna... thank you for birthday shout out! Think I made some new friends! Love, love, love these cards. Very elegant and that double embossing with the snowflake looks AWESOME! And how did you get those peelies to line up so straight? I'm retarded when it comes to doing things like that.

  17. Hello Donna

Oh Wow your cards are gorgeous, simple but so effective and elegant.
    Just my type of card.

Thanks for joining in our latest challange.

  18. hey lady!
these are great and the embossing is amazing! I kept looking at it over and over trying ti figure out how it turned out so well...just so clean! this is the best use of the double embossing I have seen!
thankx for the heads up for Margie!!!

  19. Hi Donna I too love peelies so handy and quick, love your card and the embossing, must have a go at that.
    Hugs Linda

  20. Wow, these are so elegant! I don't dare try that embossing technique, I'm not good at stuff like that! I've never heard of peel offs, and I guess since they're hard to find I won't get to use them either. They look great on your cards though!

  21. Wow, Donna, what an impact this card is making. I love it,. Peelies word. Not a rub off, not a sticker...I will have to check out that video.
    Happy Easter, girl.

Thanks for making my day!
