Winner of the Donna Kitty Digi and a CAS Card for the Outlawz Pumpkin Challenge

Okay, it's the post you've all been waiting for!  I'll be announcing the winner of the Donna Kitty digi stamp from Sandra Caldwell from the Cat Lover's Blog Hop post HERE. However, first you get to see another cute digi from Sandra Caldwell called #596 Twosome Gruesome for the Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge calling for Pumpkins.  Well, woohoo!  They get a Twofer!  Are two heads really better than one?  Twosome Gruesome was colored with Copics and cut with a Deckle Rectangle from Spellbinders.  they were popped on a banner die cut from (oh CRAP!  Where's the packaging?) hanging from Halloween fabric tape from Recollections.  Sentiment is also Recollections.

Okay, so on to the Winner of The Donna Kitty.  of the 20 comments received, 8 were eligible for the drawing and Random org did his magic and chose ...
#3 Princess Judy Palmer, with this fabulous comment.

Both Goliath and Jezebel heartily approve.  In fact, they wanted to just give her the prize right then and there, but I said it wouldn't be fair.  Congrats Princess Judy.  I'll be giving Sandra your email (probably tomorrow, since it's Halloween) and she'll send you The Donna Kitty directly.  Thanks to all who commented.  It was really fun hearing your accessory preferences.

Happy Halloween! Here's Some Projects for Gecko Galz

It's been WAY too long since I played in the Gecko Galz FB challenges and my eyes were not exactly cooperating in the coloring arena after all the stuff I did last week, so first I did the Gecko Galz BLOG HOP (lots of fabulous inspiration from the team FREE collage sht at each stop with PRIZES to be had at the end. WooHoo!  Still going on TODAY HERE!  Then I managed to play with a bunch of my Gecko Galz collage and digi paper sets and came up with these cards.

I'll start with my fave because it's the most "Halloweenie" and because I entered it in both the Numbers and Magic is afoot challenges.  The image is from the Gypsy Magic Collage sheet (hmmm...not in shop) and sentiment from Midnight Magic.  I was looking for some gold patterned paper in my GG files and came across the one behind but don't remember which pack it came from and now can't find.  To be honest, it's driving me CRAZY but I must move one.  Striped paper is from Authentique and that fab spider web doily was a gift from my pal Creepy Glo.  Crystal ball and Oct 31 stickers are from Recollections and the bats are Raindots.

I'm also entering this in the Outlawz Festive Fridays Halloween Day Challenge and Left of Center Halloween.

For the Buttons and Bows Challenge I went again with a Halloween theme and used a freebie from the Gecko Galz Pinterest page of a witch's costume pattern.  I cropped it and then resized the sentiment and used digi paper from the GG Coven paper pack.  The scissors is from the Stitch in Time Collage sheet.   I ripped up some dingy tissue that looked like pattern paper and used twine to tie Tim Holtz bones on top of an antique button from my MIL's button tin.

I was gettin' kinda tired but thought I'd do one more that's all digital for the Brown and Gold Color Challenge.  Papers from GG Chocolate Box(seriously YUMMY!) AIW image from the Ask Alice Collage set (I changed it to brown in my printing program) and a key from the icons in the La Boheme Craft Kit. Sentiment is a gold peel off (guess it's not all digital after all).

I'll be back later (hopefully with at least one more Halloween project) and the WINNER of the Donna Kitty stamp from Sandra Caldwell.

The Outlawz Progressive Challenge

There's a monthly Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge and this month we received this adorable Juggling Tiger by Gerda Steiner.  I didn't mean to wait 'til the last minute, but a few unexpected things came up that I wanted to participate in, so I just managed this under the wire, as it ends tomorrow.  I used digital paper from Gecko Galz Life is a Circus pack behind him and colored him with Copics with a little fur detail from Prismacolor pencils.  I added clear epoxy dots to the balls because they fit and I was in too big a hurry to wait for Glossy Accents to dry. The sentiment is a peel off sticker and I've added little stars to the banner and called it done.  Too bad I didn't get it finished in time for the Cat Lover's Blog Hop.  I'm going through withdrawals, but this is at least a big kitty.

I'm also adding this to the Share your Designs Challenge at Gerda Steiner.

Another Quickie Post for the Last Day of the Cat Lover's Hop

WooHoo!  I did another card for the final day of the Cat Lover's Hop at Her Peaceful Garden.  My eyeballs are going buggie from the last few days of intense coloring (not just for the Hop) but I saw a link on Fiki's Blog for a freebie called Happy Fall Cat from Gerda Steiner Designs in Celebration of National (World?) Cat Day (I've read both, but finally looked it up, and today is NATIONAL CAT DAY.  WORLD CAT DAY is August 8th but certainly cats are such awesome creatures that they deserve more than ONE DAY.  In fact, once a month sounds good to me.)  So there ya go!  The digi was so cute, I just had to color it up immediately, using the png version on a Fall background from the Gecko Galz Fall into Nature Collage sheet.  I love using collage and digi papers with my digital stamps.  I've colored Happy Fall Cat with Copics with a little fur detail from Prismacolor pencils and used a rub-on from MAMBI for the sentiment.

Thanks to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for organizing this fabulous Hop and to all the wonderful sponsors and participants.  It has truly been amazing.  And please don't forget to comment on my first project post of the day HERE for a chance to win my namesake Donna Kitty digi stamp by Sandra Caldwell

I'm also entering this (just under the wire) in the Gecko Galz October Fall into Autumn Customer challenge, and the Gerda Steiner Share your Designs Challenge.

Last Day of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop!

Again, Happy World Cat Day and thanks for stopping by.  As it's the final day of the Cat Lover's Hop at Her Peaceful Garden I thought I'd start out with a special project and little giveaway.  This amazingly stylish cat is named the Donna Kitty by Sandra Caldwell and she drew it just for ME!  We were talking one day and Sandra asked me what I collected.  (besides cats.  LOL)  "You know, like I'm a huge handbag fan, so what do you love?"  Well, first off, SHOES!  (heeled booties, especially) then bags, statement necklaces, earrings...What can I say?  Next thing I know, here's the Donna Kitty. OMG!!!! She even has my HAIR!  Of course I colored her ginger with my Copics and added glitter DP and some shopping goodies fussy cut from a piece from the All about Girls Mat Stack by DCWV.  The sentiment "The only thing that separates us from the animals..." is computer generated and inside it reads..."is the ability to accessorize."  Definitely words to live by, don'tcha think?

I can't thank Sandra enough for drawing this adorable digi for me, so if you'd like to win her, just tell me the name of your favorite accessory in your comments. Be sure to include your email addy as that is where Sandra will send the digi.  If it's no included, no worries, I won't be offended, but I'll assume you're not interested in the drawing.  I will draw the name and post the winner on Meowloween.  Then do stop by Sandra's Etsy shop (babycakesdnd) and check out all of the adorable cat themed digis HERE and HERE she's drawn for every occasion.

Thanks so much to Janis and everyone involved with the Cat Lover's Blog Hop. I sure have had a ball.  I hope to be back with more kitty projects before the end of the Hop today, but I'm not sure how that will fly with Hubby.  Goliath and Jezzie are all for it, however, and you know CAT'S RULE!

I'm also entering this in the DL.Art October Linky Challenge and Simon Says Stamp ATG.

Happy World Cat Day

Yeah, this is a non project post but I'll be back with at least one new project for the final day of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop at Her Peaceful Garden and it'll involve a little giveaway of my own.  WooHoo!

Grumpy Cat is not a "mew"sed

but Goliath and Jezebel have already reminded me that extra treats are in their future.  Purrhaps I should put them to work.

When Goliath gives me that face, I RUN!  It's a great day to celebrate CATS!

Thanks to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden for putting this all together and to all of the fabulous sponsors of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop.  You can still join in the fun, but HURRY!

Cat Lover's Blog Hop Day 5

Didn't think I was gonna make it today for the Cat Lover's Blog Hop at Her Peaceful Garden, but I managed a cute quickie using the hilarious George the Cat (only $1.50!) from Bloobel stamps and the sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  Digi paper from AMBillustrations and sentiment computer generated. (No birds were harmed during the making of this card.  LOL)

Sorry for the short post but  yesterday was a major crafting and blogging day that didn't involve cats.  Would love it if you'd check out my 2 previous posts and see what I'm up to when I'm not coloring cats.

What the heck are we all gonna do when this hop is over?  Thanks so much Lisa and sponsors and cat loving friends.  Hope we can stay in touch.

New Release at Aurora Wings "Crown of Roses"

This is the other of the new releases from Aurora Wings featured in the Double Release on the Showcase Blog today.  This beauty is Crown of Roses.  This is another simple card to let the glorious image shine.  She's cut with Spellbinders Grand Oval and mounted popped on a Grand Decorative Oval.    It's triple matted with DP from K&Co with some velvet leaves, some flat back pearls and a triple bow of hand dyed crinkle ribbon from DL.Art.

Here's a closeup of Crown of Roses.  I have to say she was a bit of a challenge to color, but I enjoyed every minute.  I've used only Copics again, but muted portions of the roses with several of the Warm Grays.  I really love how she turned out.  Please visit the Showcase Blog for more inspiration from the Showcase team using both of these gorgeous new stamps.  Click HERE to see my inspiration for "Weeping Rose".

And don't miss the fabulous Coupon Code for this weekend.

And GWP with NO MINIMUM!  WooHoo!  Isn't she ADORABLE?

Here's how to keep up with all that's happening at Aurora Wings.

Aurora Wings Double Showcase "Weeping Rose"

I'm thrilled to be joining the Aurora Wings Showcase Team for the double release of two new glorious Aurora Wings stamps.  This beauty is called "Weeping Rose".  My first thought was a sympathy card because of the rather sad look on her face, but this image is much more versatile than that.  I instead chose the sentiment Thinking of You so it could be used, not only for sympathy, but a variety of occasions.  the elegance of the image called for a special mat so I used my spellbinders Enchanted Labels 28 and backed it with shiny gold card stock.  The layout is simple, just DP from Graphic 45, another later of gold and a simple white card.  The only embellies are matte gold half pearls in the corners and some gold rosebud stickers at the top.

Here's a closeup of "Weeping Rose".   She's colored with Copics, and although my first inclination was to go in with pencils for more shading and drama, I decided I liked the soft monochromatic look here.

I got a new dimensional medium called nuvo Crystal Drops this past weekend which work like Liquid Pearls but have suspended glitter in them.  I thought this was the perfect project on which to try them.  Yummy!  I've also added Diamond glaze to her lips, but for the life of me could not get them to shine in a ic.  It's a rather gloomy rainy day and lighting has been a challenge, (especially with the shiny gold card stock I used.

Please visit the Showcase Blog for more inspiration and check out my next post HERE, for my project with Crown of Roses.

And here's the fab Coupon Code for this weekend. Don't miss out!

And GWP with NO MINIMUM!  WOW!  Isn't she ADORABLE?

Here's how to keep up with all that's happening at Aurora Wings.

Cat Lover's Blog Hop Day 4

Okay, this is getting serious!  I'm behind in my DT work but all I can think about are KITTIES!  So here's a quickie post and a fast tag.  Thanks, KT for reminding me that I have Halloween Bingo cards. The hilarious image is #627 Franken Kitty by Sandra Caldwell.  I've added 2 sticker borders and a little sentiment from Authentique, and some ribbon from stash that I seemed to mostly cut off in my pic 'cause I'm in a hurry.

Here's a closeup of #627 Franken Kitty, just one of the adorable kitty digis Sandra has in her Etsy Shop for every occasion.  He's colored with Copics and cut with Spellbinders Deckle Rectangles and inked with Black Soot before removing from the die.

Having way too much fun at the Cat Lover's Hop at Her Peaceful Garden.  Hope to finish many more projects when I'm done with my DT stuff that's due TODAY (and I haven't even finished coloring)  YIKES!  I'm also entering this in the SUYP Meowloween Challenge and Simon Says Wednesday ATG.

Cat Lover's Blog Hop Day 3

Well, looky here, I'm still in it.  It's Day 3 of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop at Her Peaceful Garden and I'm here to show something unexpected.  While commenting on the fab Bingo ATC's on KT's Fit Kitty's Blog I was intrigued by the vintage images she used that took me back to my childhood.  One had a link to ChouxChoux Paper Art.  I poked around there a bit and found THIS POST that had the cutest little Origami Cat Treat Box with a Youtube link to instructions and a fab little freebie printable for a tag and/or card.  Since I had no idea what I was doing for today's Hop post, why not do some origami?

At 4:30 in the morning, this isn't the easiest thing to make, especially when using heavy black card stock instead of origami paper, but Lori at ChouxChoux Paper Art had some tips that helped. I decided to deck out my kitty with a felt witch's hat, some eyelash yarn whiskers, a crinkle ribbon bow from DL.Art, and a little orange bead nose.  I've tied up some candy corn in tulle and tied it with Halloween twine and added the FREE PRINTABLE tag from ChouxChoux Paper Art.

Here's a closeup of the tag from ChouxChoux Paper Art (thanks to Lori and KT for sending me there).  I've used Spellbinders die to cut and mount the cute kitty. Sentiment is part of the printable.  WooHoo!

Thank you Janis and your fabulous sponsors for all the fun and inspiration at the Cat Lover's Blog Hop.  There are daily prizes and lots of ways to win cool cat schtuff.  You don't even have to make a project.  Check it OUT!

I'm also adding this to Simon Says Wednesday ATG, the Outlawz Monday Greetings Animal Antics challenge and DL.Art October linky Challenge.

Cat Lover's Blog Hop Day 2

It's day 2 of the Cat Lover's Blog Hop and I gotta say I was totally unprepared for this. I blew off the weekend as far as crafting went and now I'm in a bit of a crunch, but I'm having SO MUCH FUN seeing all the fab kitty creations and bonding with my kitty loving friends.  Don't know if I'll be able to create every day, but I will still be around visiting those who do.  Thanks again to Janis at Her Peaceful Garden and her wonderful array of sponsors for this event.

Today we're celebrating Meowloween with the fab fur-eebie from Ike (also a CLBH sponsor) at SUYP  where, of course I'm entering the current challenge as well as Spooky Love at Ike's World Challenges.  I thought this kitty needed a little friend so I added Zombie Rat, part of the Zombie Pet Shop collection from Ike's Art (although I don't see it in the shop at the mo).  The digi paper behind is called Pumpkin Patch from Gecko Galz (I used it before and couldn't remember the name) and the sentiment is also digitally added.   I've colored mainly with Copics but a good deal of shading and fur detail was done with Prismacolor pencils and followed the Tuesday Color Challenge Tic Tac Toe with Twist (add a pumpkin) diagonal from top left.

Princess Judy, I think Goliath liked the kitty mummy on your first card today so he went about creating his own costume.  He might need some help trying it on, though.

Cat Lover's Blog Hop! #1

EEEK!  I just realized that the Cat Lover's Blog Hop begins today!  I've noticed the banner on many of my kitty loving friends blogs and knew I wanted to participate.  (besides, both Goliath and Jezebel INSISTED!) FAbulous prizes by all kinds of kitty loving sponsors and you can win stuff just by hopping around and commenting.  WooHoo!  Thank you Janis from Her Peaceful Garden for this fabulous opportunity for kitty lovers everywhere.  It kinda snuck up on me though, but it's Day 1 and here ya go.

My card features a #740 Midnight Snack Cat by Sandra Caldwell and I've followed the sketch from the Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge so I could do double duty.

I've turned it a quarter turn because I could.  LOL

I've also taken a pic of my "Cat Stash" to enter in the Daily Game.  Most of my stash is digital, though but here's what I could come up with.

Short post because Goliath wants to help me and he's becoming a pain.  He looks annoyed because I stopped petting him to type and pulled the camera cord away from him.  And yes, those are leopard print jammies and it's almost 1:00 pm.  The inside of my card is gonna say "Any day spent in jammies is a GOOD DAY!"

Turkey in a Pot Place Card

Played with the #1127 Turkey in a Pot from Sandra Caldwell's new release Monday.  Thought he'd be especially cute as a place card so after coloring I fussy cut and popped him on a base made with two scored Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circles, and lined the front one with with a circle of Graphic 45 check.

The pic sort of looks flat so here's a side view.  I've tucked some Autumn Leaves "table confetti" behind the turkey, embellished with pearls and used Alpha Beads for the name.  The "table" was the perfect place to score Turkey in a Pot and have him sit on the base.

Here's a closeup of #1127 Turkey in a Pot before fussy cutting.  I've used Copics markers and colors according to the Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge and this week's twist was Anything but a Card.

You can check out all of Sandra's fab new stamps later today in her Etsy Shop (babycakesdnd) and some DT inspiration in the Sandra Caldwell Stamp Fans FB Group.

I'm also adding this to the DL.Art October Linky challenge, Crafting When We Can No Square Cards, Hiding in my Craft Room Any Holiday, TTRCD ATG (week of Oct 18th), My Time to Craft Autumnal Colors or Halloween, Crafting with Friends #30 ATG
