Friends Fur-ever for the Cat Lovers Hop
It's the last day and possibly the last post for the Cat Lovers Hop at Her Peaceful Garden. At least for me, anyway. I have some errands to run and we're going out tonight so... Besides, I've got my contacts in (because I'm too vain to go out in public with glasses on) and I have all kinds of trouble coloring without my mega strength pair.
I've had loads of fun on the Hop and decided to experiment with some REALLY OLD stuff from my stash. Does anyone use rub-ons anymore? I thought they were cool at one time but had no idea that they can be difficult to use when they're OLD. This whole floral background is a rub-on by Heidi Grace circa 2009. Ahem... I thought it might make a fab background for a bunch of colorful kitty stickers I've had in my stash since before then even. Not the worst ever, but it took me a half hour trying to decide what color to mat with. Eiyiyi! Step AWAY from the crafting table. Sentiment is STAMPED with a clear sentiment from My Pink Stamper that I had to cut in half to fit the space. Even with my Misti it's crooked. (Must be those contacts) Heart paper is Heidi Grace too. Of course NOW I've found the Ai stamps I bought at the Scrapbook Expo in February just for this Hop. Maybe later, or tomorrow for National Cat Day...we'll see.
I'm also adding this to the SYUP Furrything Goes challenge, the DL.Art October Linky challenge and Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #68 AG.
I love this bright and happy card! You have reminded me I have some similar cat stickers somewhere, maybe I will bring them out for next years cat hop, if not before! I hope your evening out is fabulous! xxx

Ha! I thought that was some kind of ultra modern Dr. Seuss style stamp! I have a drawer 1/4 full of rub ons and I remember they weren't too awful easy back when they were new. Oh bother. I may just cut them out and use them as decoupage. lol.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I have SO MANY rub ons that have never been used!! Not even sure what I have any more. lol Well, your card is simply fabulous and such a fun design. I love it!!

Totally cool - I love all the colours and the crazy cute cats :-) I had some rub-ons about as old as yours and they don't stick do they ? hahahaha Eeeeuw ... Contacts.... I have a bit of an eye phobia thing so I could never wear them or go anywhere near an eye laser machine - unfortunately for me :-(
ReplyDeleteThank you for purring along to play at SUYP Cats Challenges.

Cute and colourful! I still have some old rub-ons but I've never had good luck with them - I should just toss them I guess. Glad you enjoyed the hop - I did too!
ReplyDeleteI love how creative you were with the rub-ons and stickers. :) I'm slapping myself on the head with why have I not thought to put stickers with rub-ons! ;) I still have A LOT of rub-ons and yes some of them get harder to put on as they get older but not all....you just sorta have to experiment. :) Anyway another cute card....this hop went by so fast...it was nice meeting you. :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous. It is funny when you talk about pulling out items of "old" from the stash pile, hehe. I'm there with you. I think mine just wouldn't work from being in my basement and due to humidity. Hope you had a nice time out...at my age, don't do that anymore either, hehe.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know how to USE rub-ons!! I have a few that came in prizes, but I am afraid to use them because I will prob mess them up. Then what??????? I won't be able to use my result and I will have wasted an entire quarter of a piece of cheap white cardstock!! Oh, the horror!!! No, no, no....it is much safer to let them continue their ripening process in my stash. Ha.
ReplyDeleteLove this wonderful card you made with the colorful and whimsical images!!
Thank you so much for joining in the #CatLoversHop2017!
