Welcome to the Dia de Reyes Blog Hop. If you've come from Madison's Blog you are on the right track. If not, you'll want to hop over to Gaby's Blog to read about this wonderful holiday tradition and find out the details for winning the fabulous prizes she has to offer. I used the Cricut Cartridge Christmas Village for my Reyes Magos card. Because they are meant to be standing figures, I designed the card in Design Studio and used a rectangle from George to cut the figures off where I wanted. To save paper I also positioned the cuts off the mat which in the case of the King leading the camel confused DS enough that I not only had to turn off my Cricut and close the file after cutting it, I also had to close the entire DS program and restart it to continue. Each King was cut twice, and assembled with the gold foil card stock slightly offset to approximate a shadow Fortunately it all worked out in the end.
"We Three Kings" is from the Winter Frolic cartridge which fortunately does have an accompanying shadow. Because the Kings are just silhouettes, I used adhesive gems to bring out some details. The background card stock is from the DCWV Luxury Stack and the Kings themselves are matte metallic from Recollections. The gold border is a peel off.
Each King is popped from his shadow and then popped from the next for dimension. the sentiment is popped as well and adds a bit more drama to a pretty simple card.
The rest are the pictures of my Reyes Magos that spend the Christmas Season on the table in my entryway. In Latin countries the Kings are not added to the Nativity until the evening of January 5th but my dudes always jump the gun 'cause I love them so much! LOL

Now hopefully you have been visiting all the blogs in order and are collecting the magic words to complete the sentence for the prize and don't forget to leave comments along the way.
My word is OUTSIDE.
Now hop along to Martha's Blog and enjoy the wonderful festivities. But if you're lost, Click HERE to find your way. Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy!

Great Card! Love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Donna. I love how you offset the kings. It is a very sophisticated looking card. Thank you for sharing the details! Have a wonderfully blessed New Year...Melin...CookingWithCricut.com
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. Love your three kings to your nativity set. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOh your card is spectacular, wouldn't have thought about cutting half of a cut, inspiring moment, thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteNice simple card.
ReplyDeleteLove your figurines!!!
Gorgeous card Donna, love the colors you used. The three kings carried Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh, these represented Gold for a King, Frankincense for a priest and Myrrh for a prophet, it is believed they were covering all the basis. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love folowing your blog and studying your creations.
ReplyDeleteNow you are in your planning stage for the coming year I wonder if I might ask a favour of you! Here in the UK we get so little help from Provocraft and we are so disillusioned with the MB. We all used to love the old message board and had terrific chats but since moving to the new message board it is an entirely different story! We can’t stay logged in, we can’t have threads more than 15 pages long, we are restricted what we can discuss etc etc. So having a little time to spare (I don’t think) on New Year’s Day I created our own forum where we can stay logged in, we can discuss what we want – crafty or not, threads can be as short or long as we like etc etc. Basically we make the forum how we want and as admin I try to implement the requests to make them work. As one of our threads we have a monthly challenge, we are discussing a Cricut lending library, a Cricut cut swap, an atc swap, a stamped image swap, a shopping place recommendation etc etc I am sure you get the drift. Now another path I would like to follow is a guest designer project/tutorial two a month having various different designers each month. The ten million dollar question - Would you consider being one of our guests?
Pop over to us and take a look and join us on:
http://cricutolics.forumotion.co.uk/f1-cricut-personal-die-cutter
The spots that are now available are 28th January, 28th May, 28th June, 28th July, 28th August, 15th September, 28th October, 28th November, 28th December. Choose your referred spot if you can join us and email me back and I will get you listed straight away.
I am thinking at the moment of putting the projects/tutorials on the Guest Designer thread and when it is each designers turn they will hit reply and make the title of the reply Chosen Spot – Designer Name eg ‘August 28th – Pink Stamper’ this way in my mind’s eye you then have the itinerary at the top of the post with the designers following in order afterwards so that if one person looks at the itinerary and wants to find a particular spot they can go to the thread read itinerary and scroll down to the spot they want. Topic for our designers is absolutely up to the individual designers to choose. We also have a button with the coding on the thread ‘Button for our Forum’ which we would love you to use wherever you think appropriate.
Looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.
Happy New Year from UK.
Liz
