Happy Sunday! I'm so excited to be going to the SWARM (a gathering of Cricuteers for those of you scratching your head) that I couldn't sleep and have been up since 3:00 a.m. Instead of shoveling out my craft room to figure out what I'm gonna take I've been messing with my new MS border punches, particularly those with the matching corners. Am I the only one so mechanically challenged that I can't for the life of me make a complete square or rectangle. Seriously, I can't do it. I KNOW you're supposed to cut your paper in 1 3/4 inch increments and all that baloney but I CAN'T DO IT. I think I used up an entire piece of 12x12 black cardstock messing with the spider web. My whole table (and floor) is littered with tiny shreds and I didn't get ONE USABLE PIECE! So I moved on to the maple leaf and had a bit better luck. Still didn't get a complete piece but I trimmed the unusable part, found a scrap and made this quick card. I hope I do a little better at the Swarm. It took me 15 minutes before I had to go get the instructions for my corner chomper too. Couldn't figure out where to put the paper in. LOL I hope that was due to the early hour and not any indication of how productive I'm gonna be today. I promise lots of good stuff next week though. See you then and thanks for stopping by.
LOL I can just see you and the mess now ! Have a great time at the SWARM, I cant wait to see your creations !!!xoxo Joy
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I share you problem with all mechanical thingies. I am forever getting my hubby to keep me right. I wouldn't worry too much though there is nothing wrong with your end result. It's graet.
I'm into the Cricut as well but I've never been to a swarm. Sounds a good way to spend a few hours.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteNow this is opening up a can of worms!!! LOL!!!!!! Just kidding enjoy your swarm! Love the card!
ReplyDeletei am right there with you!! i waste so much paper *grrrr* this is a cute card and hope you have a great time at the swarm :0)
ReplyDeleteDonna, sure hope your day gets better as it rolls on! Too funny about that corner chomper! I had the same problem when I first tried to use mine, although I think I figured it out in a record-breaking 10 minutes. I felt very silly once I realized how easy it was. Your card is the cutest mistake I've ever seen! Have fun swarming!
ReplyDeleteLove your card, I hope you have fun at the SWARM. ~Diane
ReplyDeleteI can't get my loopy punches to work perfectly based on the instructions either. It's making me crazy. Now I am going to have to come up with my own measurements. BTW, love your latest works of art, as usual.
ReplyDeleteand you still managed to create a stunning card!!! Donna I remember when I got the Cropadile took me ages to find out how to use it properly! OOh enjoy your swarm wish I could be there!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Yup I struggle with those things too. I tend to just stick with straight lines!
ReplyDeleteThis card is beautiful! You'd never know you struggled with the punch at all!
Have fun at SWARM!

Oh no! LOL! I sure didn't want to hear that! I just got the loopy set. I'm off to try right now. LOVE your card and hope you're having a blast!!! hugs!!
ReplyDeleteHA! So I am not the only one having trouble with what looks simple enough. Love the maple leaf. Hope to see the spider web when you get it figured out! Hugs..
ReplyDeleteI love all your cards. When I'm at other blogs and see a card I love it is always one of yours. I envy you the swarm. Some times I feel like I'm the only crikuteer in my area so I depend on you and others to lead the way. I've learned a lot and in using your cut files I understand DS more and more had even designed a few humble things myself.
ReplyDeleteAs for the MS punches I've looked at them and thought they could be difficult and would wait and see what the general opinion of them were. I really like the spirally one. Godd luck can't wait to hear about your swarm.

These punches haven't made there way here yet but I did wonder how easy/difficult they would be. I'm sure it was just the fact that you should have been in bed at that time. Your creation turned out fab tho.
